Our wide white sand beach stretches for miles. We are about 15 minutes (north-west-east) from small communities that have fine dining (casual) and even an Internet hot spot Bistro.
Please bring linens and expendables (TP, Soaps, etc.). All utensiles. coffee maker, blender, toaster oven and microwave are furnished.
People who have enjoyed our home over the years come to walk on the secluded beach, enjoy nature all around, and a fresh seafood meal. Enjoy what Florida was like 100 years ago. St. Teresa. There is nothing like it anymore.

St. Teresa is a small, beautiful, quite beach community with the perfect place for your dogs to enjoy the treasures of the sand! It is never easy finding a rental with three large dogs, but the owners were very accommodating and super nice. Our rental was clean and comfortable with a good view over the marsh to the beach from the balcony. Most days we saw no one (which is great if you have silly pups joining you). Exactly what we were looking for in our winter vacation!Recommended for: Pet owners.

Beatiful Beach- Charming Home and very relaxing. Bring Bug spray as the tropical enviroment has many misquitos and deer flies. Great for dogs - ours loved the beach. Very Private. Lots to do if you explore or go to St George for the day. Glad we stayed here!!!! We have lots of great memories.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is a beautiful house for anyone looking for a quiet place to enjoy the sea and the beauty of nature. Coffee on the beach at sunrise was delightful! Our dog enjoyed the long walks on the beach, and our kids enjoyed the sand and sea. We only saw about 5 people on the beach during our whole stay! The owners were wonderful, and the house was clean and charming. I would highly recommend doing the Wakulla state park boat trip and visiting the aquarium in Panacea. Both are short excursions. If you want to enjoy old Florida far away from the flash of Disney World, this is the place to be!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

First, I would like to note that this was our first time renting on VRBO. A big concern was that there was no assurance the property we were renting actually existed. Accordingly, I did a lot of internet research prior to renting this house. This included finding out who was renting the home and matching their name to property tax records (available as public record). I am pleased to report that we had an excellent first experience and to assure anyone considering this home that it does indeed exist. I inquired of the owner why there were so few comments on the VRBO site. He mentioned that everyone seems to sign the quest book in the home, but few clients completed online reviews. The guest book was packed with reviews dating back to 1997. We were very satisfied that the pictures and descriptions on the website accurately portrayed the home. The owners were very friendly and readily available (without being intrusive). The home is perfectly suited for anyone looking to break away from crowds and stay on a secluded beach. The property is directly connected to the Gulf of Mexico – you cross a grass backyard and a very short boardwalk and are on the beach. The door of the house is approximately 100-200 steps from the water. The Gulf directly behind the house is shallow - a 6’ tall person could walk a 100 yards out with their head above water (guessing – I did not do this). Depending on the level of tide, the beach has 25-150’ of sand in most locations. Even at the highest tide, there is no problem finding a place to sit/lay on the beach. We spent the majority of the week on the beach and on some days saw no other individuals. Other days, we may have seen a couple of other families, but for the most part we had miles of beach to ourselves. For anyone interested in shelling, there is a beach on Alligator Point which is about a 20 minute drive. Alligator Point’s beach was also very secluded and had miles of beach with thousands of shells. I have visited many beaches in Florida and the only beach where I saw more shells was on Sanibel Island. We chose this specific property as it allowed dogs. We brought our two Australian Shepherds who ran all week long on the beach without incident. The only time they were leashed was walking across the backyard and boardwalk. Dogs are required to be on leash on the beach at Alligator Point. Property and surrounding area get an A+ on being dog friendly. Many thanks to Steve and Nancy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Scott for the review. When I first read it I thought two things...(1). it covered a lot of points people would like to know... (2). it was so good people would think I wrote it! Please come back and stay with us again, Steve, Nancy and Sam.

My husband and I first visited the "Lazy Dolphin" in June of this year and are planning on returning in the fall. The property is nestled down a private lane in the "Florida woods," a few hundred yards from a quietly secluded Gulf-front beach. Tall pines and cool palms shade the well manicured back yard from the warm afternoon sun. The yard is ideal for families visiting with children and/or pets.....all can play while the parents enjoy grilling fresh seafood after a day of fun on the beach. The two-story house includes a cool and relaxing downstairs living room area with a fully equipped kitchen. The upstairs has a full-size washer/dryer perfect for throwing in multiple loads of beach wear and wet beach towels. The owners are very helpful with ideas for local restaurants and other tourist escapes. We reside in North Carolina and the 20-hour round trip drive is well worth the experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Driving through the wooded drive and seeing the beach houses peeking through with glimpses of water behind them was exciting. We were looking for a quiet place to take a vacation without crowds of people with thousands of rooms around. The house was wonderful! It was spacious and comfortable. I was able to do my own cooking and save money by not eating out. The bedroom loft was an oasis with a view. The crowds on Memorial Day consisted of maybe 30 people on the beach. After the holiday we saw only 2 or 3 people at a time. It was very relaxing to go for walks and look at shells. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area going West toward Appalachicola and St. George Island. We enjoyed Alligator Point and Ochlockonee Bay. A must see would be the Wakulla Springs area and Jungle Cruise. There were some shelling beaches on Alligator Point and we enjoyed that. We would recommend that anyone looking for a quiet and restful place consider this beach house. The only drawback was the fact that the yellow flies were biting that week.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1994
About the owner: Moved to St Teresa in 1996 and work with the local CBS affiliate operating beach web cams across the panhandle of north Florida. Enjoy meeting people from all over the world with our nearby vacation rental property.
Why the Owner Chose St. Teresa:
St Teresa is where my family spent the summers. I grew up on St Teresa beach and it has not changed in 50 years. This is NOT PC, Destin or St George Island type area!! It is Exclusive and Private. Trees, Private Beach, no noise, no lights and a sky full of stars at night. Enjoy the area for the Natural Beauty surrounding you. You will be in a very wooded area with Nature all around you. Enjoy it. This is the last of it Florida has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The forest goes down to the water. We have animals and birds. The fishing is great from shore or our nearby dock. Great local restaurants just 10 minutes in all directions. Excellant golf club and grill just 6 minutes from the house. WE ARE DOG FRIENDLY!
