Designed by an architect and built by the owners in 2009, this stunning mountain cabin is a luxurious and complete cozy get-away. It is perfect for an outdoor-loving, active family that ventures out into the surrounding Monongahela National Forest to bike, hike, fish, hunt, kayak, photograph and explore. Take all of your toys. The Williams River is just across the field 150' away and the Cranberry River is short drive over Red Oak mountain into its watershed. The Williams River is approximately 22 miles long. It is a fantastic walk into the Cranberry Back Country from the parking lot behind the locked gate.
The cabin is an romantic honeymoon/anniversary snuggle nest. It was built with warm hardwood oak floors, an extra-large jacuzzi tub with 10 jets, and a relaxing gas fireplace. The living room has a beautiful, overstuffed, custom made red leather sleeper sofa with matching loveseat. The screened-in front porch with rocking chairs is a great place to watch the sunrise with your favorite cup of coffee and the one you love.
Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring are all excellent seasons to soak in the 6 person spa beneath the open sky in the rejuvenating mountain air. Especially during the cold winter chill at the edge of night the stars move in close so that you can see their faces as a bright beam of clear light.

We built much of the cabin ourselves as a family project after our good fortune of purchasing a parcel of private land that was inside the national forest

It is a remote and unpopulated destination that we love so well, and fits our active family well. It is a great escape from our year-round city location. The state of West Virginia is a hidden treasure obscure to the masses of vacationers who seek commercial activities for their outings.
