Le Bleu Ridge’s home is the 1840 Page House estate, a five acres pre-civil war era landmark located in the heart of Nelson County, VA. The property is blessed with a unique and breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge’s Humpback Mountain. The main building features historically recorded woodwork covered by a technique known as “feather painting”, hard-wood floor throughout and a great front porch shaded by hundred plus year old ash trees. The estate also includes a luxury and romantic getaway cottage as well as a wine tasting room showcasing the Flying Fox Vineyard vintages.
We are originally from French-speaking Quebec-Canada, have spent the last three years looking for the right place and opportunity to open a B&B. We first came in the Virginian Blue Ridge Mountains while vacationing in May ’09. The beautiful scenic environment, the warm welcoming of the people living in the Rockfish Valley and, obviously, the bucolic pleasure of the Wine Trail made us immediately fall in love with the area.
Our mission is to provide a healthy homey hospitability destination. Danielle, who has 10 plus years of experience in the hotel and restaurant sector, is currently pursuing a Master in Health and Nutrition Education. Hence, we put a great emphasis on the healthy value and locally grown factor of the food we serve. We extend our holistic approach to all elements surrounding your stay: be it the mattress you dream in, the wood floor you walk on, the water you drink, etc.
The cottage is our first unit opened to our guests (we will open up additional rooms during the fall 09 and spring 10). It features a nice fully-organic king-size bed and bedding (made of 100% natural latex, organically processed wool and cotton) that will make your night restful. Cottage stay includes: breakfast amenities, private bathroom with shower, wet bar with mid-size fridge and micro-wave oven, patio with breathtaking view, air conditioning, Wi-Fi connection, satellite TV, DVD, and more!
