We have stayed at the Conifer Lodge several times over the past few years. It is consistently clean, comfortable, and accomodating. The enormous open living and kitchen area is a big reason why we keep coming back. Plus, there are 10 bedrooms and 7 full bathrooms, and plenty of parking... can't beat that for an intimate, yet roomy setting for a large group. It works for couple's retreats, and women's retreats - we've used it for both. There is even a bedroom with a crib if you have a mom with a young baby. We have already booked our fall retreat, and plan on booking again next spring!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 30 loved our time at the Conifer Lodge. We had such a wonderful stay over Thanksgiving. The kitchen had everything we needed and the layout and spaciousness of the lodge was perfect for all the kids. McCall was a cute little city and we all agreed we would love to return. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We could not have had a more wonderful experience. We had a group of 28 women who stayed in the house for a women's retreat. The Great Room was more than enough space for all of us to gather together comfortably and we had more beds than we even needed. The kitchen was enormous and a delight to cook in, not to mention fully stocked with all the cooking instruments we needed. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We hosted both a wedding reception and rehearsal dinner at Conifer Lodge, with our entire wedding party staying onsite. Our first impression was that this place is well-loved and well cared for by the owners. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need to host thirty to forty people, including serving dishes and cookware. Everything in the house is of good quality, and the towels were even fluffy. There are also many little 'extras' even beyond what was listed in the amenities. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Conifer Lodge to any of our friends.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

CAN WE GO BACK TO THE BIG BIG HOUSE?

we gathered with family at the conifer lodge in mccall. with ten adults and ten little grand kids in the mix, i assumed that there would moments of craziness and chaos. but what a smooth and enjoyable vacation we had! mccall provides a lovely setting, with its beautiful clean lake, pine trees, wild animals, hiking trails, biking paths, sandy beaches, pleasant climate, etc...but i have to say that THE BIG BIG HOUSE became an attraction as well. after a day's activities, everyone was always eager to be back at the house to play or to kick back and relax. it's pretty fun to prepare meals in a kitchen that is equipped with just about anything you can imagine. it was comfortable to eat meals inside or outside, with more than adequate seating for all, & dishes and silverware for all! bathrooms were always readily available. how handy to have laundry facilities available on both floors, with detergent provided. the little kids really enjoyed the third floor. it seemed tailor-made just for them, with 7 sets of bunk beds in the bonus bedroom, and a playroom well-stocked with toys and games. the "big big house" offered nice spaces to be together, but also spaces to be alone. the craziness and chaos that i had expected really never found us. i think it had a lot to do with our wonderful accommodations!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the perfect place to hold a family reunion. McCall is such a beautiful setting with it's tall trees, and magnificent lake within walking distance. The cabin is spacious and comfortable with a fully equipt kitchen. The children loved playing in the play room. The young ones especially enjoyed dressing up in all the dress up clothes. We took advantage of the many tables they had outside to eat and relax. The projector TV was nice to show prerecorded skits on during our talent night. The bedrooms were inviting and comfortable. We made beautiful memories there. It was absolutely a five star experience!Owner response: Thank you so much for your great review. We are so pleased you had a great time here in McCall. What a wonderful home! The property worked perfectly for our large group of skiers. The kitchen is very well stocked, plenty of towels and blankets too..we never felt as if anything was missing. Loved the great room with fireplace, perfect place to gather. If you felt as if you needed some time away, the bedrooms were a peaceful retreat. I love this lodge because it really can comfortably sleep a large group...so many places say they can sleep 20 people and if you read the finer print you realize how many people are on couches or futons. Not here! There really is a nice bed for a couple to share in each bedroom AND all the beds in the large sleeping loft are really beds. I talked to the owners and they have 10 children and their kids helped build this place...even the doors and end tables and headboards were made by their family. I feel their love for the place really affected their desire to make it such a generous, honest rental. We'll definitely use it again...if we get to it in time...I looked at the calendar and realized we better get serious now if we want to stay here next summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time with our extended family of 27 people. We enjoyed cooking our own food in the well stocked kitchen, and the open concept of the great room let the cooks particpate in conversations. The game room toys were a great hit with our 13 grandchildren. The clothes washers and multiple dryers were well appreciated. Ten of our group rafted down the Salmon river during the spring run-off, which gave them extra thrills. We used the large BBQ grill and small firepit, and put the piano to good use. The game closet provided many options for our enjoyment. The neighborhood was quiet, and safe for walking and running. Yes, we'd recommend this lodge to anyone. The website photos accurately portrayed the lodge and it's character.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your great review. It will give our future guests confidence in booking the lodge. We are so happy your family enjoyed it and hope you will return some time soon. We built it with love of family (we have a large family) and with the hope that families will build great memories here.

Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Recently retired from Ski Vacation Business in Utah. Parents of 9 children and grandparents of 13. We literally built this home ourselves!
Why the Owner Chose McCall:
Owner's grandfather ran sheep and cattle in the mountains around McCall and his descendents still gather in McCall every year to enjoy its beauty, their heritage and each other.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love that our entire extended family can be together while still allowing everyone to have their space. We ride our bikes around the lake, down to the beach, and up to Loon Lake to see the downed WWII B23 Bomber. We walk down to Davis Beach and Lakeview Beach and play in the water and lie on the beach.
We watch family movies on the projected screen and make huge meals in the kitchen. We gather around the big kitchen table to play games, eat and talk. Lots of talking when the kids are in bed.
