Why the Owner Chose McCall
Owner's grandfather ran sheep and cattle in the mountains around McCall and his descendents still gather in McCall every year to enjoy its beauty, their heritage and each other.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love that our entire extended family can be together while still allowing everyone to have their space. We ride our bikes around the lake, down to the beach, and up to Loon Lake to see the downed WWII B23 Bomber. We walk down to Davis Beach and Lakeview Beach and play in the water and lie on the beach.
We watch family movies on the projected screen and make huge meals in the kitchen. We gather around the big kitchen table to play games, eat and talk. Lots of talking when the kids are in bed.
Long sandy white beach with pine trees for shade, visitor center with outdoor patio that can be booked for large gatherings. Also picnic pavilion and bathrooms. 5 minute walk from cabin
Beautiful State Park with Picnic Areas, Boat Launch, Mountain Biking Trails, Hiking Trails and Camping. 5 minute walk from cabin.
Best Public Golf Course Around, with reasonable Green Fees. 5 minute drive from cabin.
New park with sandy beach and grass, located next to shops, mile high marina.
Long sandy beach, with a boat launch, canoe rentals, plenty of parking, fishing on the river.
Located about 5 miles west of Mccall, Brundage gets over 300 inches of light fluffy snow every winter. It has a high speed quad and 3 triple chair lifts. This fun ski resort has fun beginner hills a

McCall's Best Vacation Rental for a LARGE Group...

I love this lodge because it really can comfortably sleep a large group...so many places say they can sleep 20 people and if you read the finer print you realize how many people are on couches or futons. Not here! There really is a nice bed for a couple to share in each bedroom AND all the beds in the large sleeping loft are really beds. I talked to the owners and they have 10 children and their kids helped build this place...even the doors and end tables and headboards were made by their family. I feel their love for the place really affected their desire to make it such a generous, honest rental. We'll definitely use it again...if we get to it in time...I looked at the calendar and realized we better get serious now if we want to stay here next summer!

We had a great time with our extended family of 27 people. We enjoyed cooking our own food in the well stocked kitchen, and the open concept of the great room let the cooks particpate in conversations. The game room toys were a great hit with our 13 grandchildren. The clothes washers and multiple dryers were well appreciated. Ten of our group rafted down the Salmon river during the spring run-off, which gave them extra thrills. We used the large BBQ grill and small firepit, and put the piano to good use. The game closet provided many options for our enjoyment. The neighborhood was quiet, and safe for walking and running. Yes, we'd recommend this lodge to anyone. The website photos accurately portrayed the lodge and it's character.
Owner response:Thank you for your great review. It will give our future guests confidence in booking the lodge. We are so happy your family enjoyed it and hope you will return some time soon. We built it with love of family (we have a large family) and with the hope that families will build great memories here.

We used the Conifer Lodge for a company retreat. We brought 19 adults. The owners' attention to our comfort was unparalleled. We did all of our own cooking and had brought cooking tools normally not provided at rental homes but we need not have bothered. There was not a thing we needed that we couldn't find. It was so comfortable we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We will definitely go back! It was even better than the pictures.

We spent Labor Day weekend at this cabin for a family reunion and it was the best time we have ever had! It was nice to have a bedroom to call your own when you are tired or need a nap and a place to stash your stuff so it is out of the way. The great room was a wonderful place to hang out and visit with plenty of space for everyone to get together. the kids room upstairs we nicknamed the orphanage because of the rows of twin beds up there, plus the game room for the kids. The kids were completely entertained up there which was nice because it was far enough away that the noise was distant enough that the adults could visit. Also, there are enough bathrooms that you didn't have a problem finding one that was open to take a shower or whatever. the Lake is close enough that you can walk to and the golf course is right there also. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this cabin to anyone! Also, every other place I have researched on line they make the place look bigger than it really is. In this case the pics they have online DO NOT do justice on how BIG this place really is!
Owner response:Thanks so much Mark, This is how we dreamed this cabin would work to bring families together. You so helped us fulfill our dream. Thank you for stay a Conifer Lodge. Best regards Frank and Kitty

We planned a family reunion here with mostly adult couples and a few kids. This place was so unique in that it offered 10 individual bedrooms for couples vs a bunch of pull out couches and bunk rooms - counting as sleeping space (though the newly completed 14 twin bed room and play room upstairs was heaven for my toddler). The place was immaculate when we arrived (you literally could wipe any window sill and not find a speck of dust!), bathrooms sparkly and plentiful (7 of them!), fluffy towels made us feel pampered. Yet it had the feel of an old lodge house too.- with character, high ceilings, beautiful recycled wood. Very comfortable living room / visiting area too. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the island made great buffet for 22 people! There was even soda in the outside fridge for guests, and a welcome gift of treats. I would highly recommend this for a family event - I only wish it was around when I got married 4 years ago as a place for my family. It would also be great for retreats- business, women, or other since it has private bedrooms. I can only hope to have the opportunity to stay here again! The only down fall was that it was a bit of a trek to the walk into the amazing Ponderosa STate Park- better to bike or drive vs. walk if you wanted to get to hiking trails and really see the park.

We have stayed at the Conifer Lodge twice this year for our women's retreats, and both times were wonderful. Everything about the Lodge is perfect for a large group....there is PLENTY of room for everyone, the kitchen has everything you could possibly wish for (we do a lot of gourmet cooking with several cooks - and there is always plenty of room), and we love the fact that we can walk to the lake anytime we want. The decor is very tasteful and yet comfortable and cozy, especially challenging for such a large space. We love it so much we are coming back for more retreats!! And we're thinking it would be perfect for a future family reunion, too.

We are a family of 24 - 11 adults and 13 children. We just spent a week at Conifer Lodge and can't say enough about how wonderful it was. The lodge is beautiful, the bedrooms and bathrooms roomy and so comfortable and the gourmet kitchen made cooking a delight. Everything you can imagine is provided. We felt like we were staying in a first-class hotel. And as our son commented, we felt like we were staying in our own hotel! The kids spent hours playing in the toy room. They loved the loft bedroom with the 13 twin beds and dubbed it "the orphanage" from the "Annie" movie! We loved walking to the beach and riding bicycles. Some golfed, we all rented wave runners, and we spent the evenings in the great room playing games. It was one of the best family vacations we have ever had and we already have plans to be back next year.

My family of 4 stayed at this lodge with 5 of my siblings families. It was so nice to be able to put our children to bed and still be able to hang out. The kitchen, and living space was very adequate and roomy. We never felt overcrowded like we have other places we have stayed. We would just walk down the street to the beach and to Ponderosa State Park. The location is ideal. The finishes are beautiful, dark wood, marble, and granite. We will be back again!
