The entertainment system at Villa Makani features an LG 60” high definition (HD) plasma TV, Blu-Ray DVD, CD player, and surround sound. In addition, speakers are included on the lanai for listening to the radio or CDs while relaxing by the pool.
Local activities
For those who like to venture out, Villa Makani is in a desirable section of Cape Coral and close to a variety of stores, restaurants, and entertainment, including cruises and fishing charters.
The Villa is near the Veteran’s Memorial (or Midpoint) Bridge to Fort Myers. Not only is Fort Myers the location of the spring training camp of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, it has beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and more. One of the more popular historical attractions is the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, which includes their homes, gardens, lab, and museum.
Sanibel Island is approximately a half hour drive and Captiva Island and Naples are approximately an hour drive from Villa Makani.
Eco-tourism
In addition, within walking distance of Villa Makani is the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve. There are over 6,000 feet of nature trails, picnic areas, and (seasonal) kayak rentals.
Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is the second largest preserved green space in Cape Coral. Four Mile Cove / “Eco Park” is a brackish water wetland area where potential wildlife sightings include, among others, eagles, ibis, herons, other wading & migratory birds, and raccoons.

The property is just as described. It was very clean and had everything you needed to have a wonderful vacation. I stayed here with my wife and 2 children age's 11 and 17. They all loved it. I have stayed in many rental homes and this was one of the best. The owner was very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this property. The Hohmann's Cape Cod,MassRecommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

Our stay @ Villa Makani was excellent. Located very conveniently close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and the airport. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen has all the supplies you may need to cook and enjoy eating sitting by the pool. The sunsets seen by the front porch of the villa are wonderful. We had the most enjoyable stay which exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great vacation in Florida.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Why bother staying in a 5 star hotel when you can stay at Villa Makani and have FOUR 5 star bedrooms and a private pool for the same price? This home was so tastefully decorated and clean we loved every minute of our one month stay. I was not sure that I could stay away from home for such a long time, but we had such a good time we found it hard to leave. I loved everything about the home, especially the pool and great room........I hope we can get back again very soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our stay at Villa Makani was absolutely perfect. The home is lovely, comfortable, homey and supplied with everything we needed to cook, barbecue, swim and relax. The beds and furnishings were wonderfully comfortable and the house was very well maintained and clean. The on line photos reflected exactly what we found when we walked in the front door. In fact our expectations were exceeded. The house was the perfect size for our group of 7 adults. Our adult children never wanted to go anywhere else for very long because they enjoyed staying at the house, eating our meals on the patio, swimming in the pool and playing cards at the dining room table. The location was very convenient to the beach, the ballparks, shopping and restaurants. We ordered pizza one evening from Nonna's and it was very good, pizza's were huge. The Villa Makani owners were so gracious and helpful with any questions we had and very fast with returning any email correspondences. We would recommend Villa Makani to anyone wanting to have a great vacation in Florida and stay in this perfect home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

Our week stay at Villa Makani was great! Everything about the home met or exceeded our expectations! Although we didn't spend much time inside the house, it was VERY clean, compfortable and beautifully decorated, with more than enough supplies. The pool & Lanai area got the most use since the weather that week was absolutely beautiful. We have already recommended Villa Makani to friends and family. We would definately rent this home again if we were not relocating to CC in the spring. Lynne was also the most helpful owner you could ask for. She provided us all the info we needed to help us with our stay & relocation.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

It's strange to start a review with "It's a shame", but, It's a shame that all the guests who raved about Villa Makani in the Guest Book didn't think to make their views public. Some comments: "....enjoyed it fully...", "...beautiful home...", "....your lovely home was perfect for our needs...", "....the house is absolutely perfect...." We can only support everyone else's view. This was a home from home, beautifully decorated and presented, and absolutely spotlessly clean. Our thanks to the Edwards for their obvious care and attention, and I hope that we cared for it as well as they do!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This home was exactly as beautiful as the photos show. It was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The beds were great and all 4 couples found them to be very comfortable. There were lots of towels and lots of dishes etc. The property was clean and well maintained. We were able to eat all our meals on the screened-in lanai and enjoyed the pool as well. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet. I would recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: My husband grew up in Pennsylvania and I lived on Long Island; we live in Pennsylvania now. He works in information technology and I am a nurse. We both like to read. We enjoy being near water while on vacation.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Southeast:
In 2008, we vacationed in Cape Coral and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and dinner by the pool. When we had the opportunity to buy a vacation rental, Cape Coral seemed like the perfect location. The tropical climate reminded us of Hawaii, but it is more accessible from Pennsylvania.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our house is less than a mile from shopping and restaurants, yet with property bordering the canal, and a pool just outside, our house is perfect for relaxing.
We enjoy the 60” TV and surround-sound stereo system. My husband and I both depend on the Internet, and benefit from the wireless Internet access.
Our house is less than ½ hour from the Ft. Myers airport.
