Our guests have described their lodging experience as a sanctuary and have returned again, and again. Bring your skis, golf clubs, fishing rod, bathing suit, even your horses. This lodging is perfect for an active getaway or for just relaxing in a rocking chair and enjoying the views.
Located on a private farm west of Charlottesville, in Nellysford, Va. and only minutes from Wintergreen Resort amenities, this newly built guest cottage offers all the comforts of home. Relax on the porch and deck and enjoy the beautiful pastoral views - horses, fields, fishpond, and Blue Ridge Mountains. The guest cottage is adjacent to farm’s original 1840’s manor house. With four bedrooms and two full baths the cottage bed arrangement offers sleeping for up to 8 people. From the covered porch, you enter into large living area with full kitchen and dining room. The kitchen area has a long, bar counter with French doors that open on to a large screened porch for more scenic outdoor dining and relaxing. There is a deck overlooking Rodes Farm pond, pool and tennis courts with tree swings and hammock.
Bedrooms and bed arrangements:
First-floor has a master bedroom with one king bed, private bath and French doors that open to the screened porch. First-floor second bedroom has one king bed, which can also be made into two twins, with adjacent large bath.
Second floor has two bedrooms, both can be made into twins beds or one king size.
A pool, pond, tennis court are within two minute walking distance from cottage. VIP parking available for skiers provides offers ski-out/in parking! Depending on availability, horseback riding may be arranged. Nellysford is only a few minutes' drive and has a good selection of quality restaurants, two grocery stores, hardware store, ABC store, pharmacy and other small shops. Renters have full use of all Wintergreen Resort Club Member Amenities, some of the offering include two, 18-hole golf courses, pools, tennis facility, skiing, WinterGarden Spa with indoor pool and hot tubs.
Classic 2400 sq-ft Red Barn has been host to many a wedding, reception, family reunion, fund raisers, private parties, etc.
Great for small and large party. Includes catering area and handicap accessible restroom. We can assist with all your planning needs. *****We do a wedding package that includes the Manor House which sleeps 6, the cottage which sleeps 8, the Red Barn and the large pasture (great tent site). The booking is for three days for barn decoration, planning and exploring the area. There are additional cottages that can be rented there as well making it a great destination wedding. Have your entire wedding party stay on site! The surrounding area offers several wineries, breweries, shops, restaurants and more. Rodes Farm is actually located in the Valley portion of Wintergreen Resort so all of their amenities are available as well.
Bring your horse)s) and rent one of our four, large horse stall(s). Take advantage of exception trail riding in the area . Our barn accommodation is convenient walking distance from your cottage. Trailer(s) parking is conveniently located beside the cottage or beside the barn with plenty of turn-around space. Both Full- and Self-care boarding is available, see rates.

Our family had a fabulous time at the cottage. Pictures do not do it justice, it was so beautiful and cozy and the attention to detail was so nice. We loved the decorating of the interior and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and the beds were so comfortable. We took our son and his wife and two grandbabies and we decided we will be going back to the cottage often. The wide open spaces outside and the beauty of the surroundings was breathtaking. We took the grandbabies to the petting farm just down the road and enjoyed the Wintergreen resort as well. We look forward to going back and experiencing more in Nellysford.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
