  We really enjoyed our stay in this condo. The condo is very nice, neat, modernly furnished. And it was actually bigger than we expected. The place is very calm and very convenient as long as you have a car. In 5 minutes, you can go to Akumal village, which is a great place,with great beaches, great restaurants and convenient stores. It is also close to Tullum, the ruins, the great sand beaches and is a pretty convenient location to visit famous maya ruins such as Coba or Chitchen-Itza. The person in charge of the property is very kind and did her best to help us and make us feel at home. We highly recommend this condo. Eric & Nathalie

  We had a great time at the condo. We had two little ones with us ( age 3 and 6 months) and they loved it. Malu arranged for a crib for us, there were some toys and kids books in Spanish and was just a great place. There are balconies all around the unit with a great jungle view that are good for relaxing or meals. Flat screen Tvs in every bedroom and living room and satellite Tv as well as an Xbox and Blueray. Kitchen in brand new and beautiful and we even and had a local chef come in and do a cooking course for us (you can find him by googling tulumchef). There's a small pool for relaxing, and a nice walking beach about 4 minutes away (although too rough to swim here during the 5 days we were there). This place also has the advantage of being on the grounds of an all-inclusive resort, so very secure and you can buy day passes to take advantage of all the facilities at the all-inclusive. There is also good snorkeling right in front of the resort. I would say you need to have a rental car to really enjoy staying here, but it is fantastic and in a great place to explore some of the best beaches, snorkeling, cenotes and ruins in the Mayan riviera. We loved it! Just hope the price doesn't go up s we can return and enjoy it again.

  We rented the condo for a week in February 2012. The condo is new, perfectly clean, and very comfortable. It is fully furnished with elegant and modern upscale finishing. It has two bedrooms and two baths, which allowed privacy for us and our two teenage girls. The spacious and carefully decorated living room is perfect for evenings spent together. The kitchen is completely equipped with everything one may need during the stay, even blender. There is plenty of towels in the closets. The manager, Malu, is very friendly and helpful. The condo is located in a gated community shared with Grand Sirenis. The beach is secluded and rather rocky, but great for morning walks. It was exactly what I was looking for. There is a beautiful snorkeling place in 10 min walk from the condo. We wish we could stay longer. We would recommend the condo to friends and will definitely be back! Thank you, Malu!

  Me puse en contacto con Malu por e-mail y no me he arrepentido de la decisión. Todo lo contrario lo volveremos a repetir. El amplio apartamento forma parte de un complejo residencial de 3 bloques llamado Kaoi. Consta de un salón comedor moderno y amplio y de cocina americana con todo lo necesario para una familia de 4. Dos habitaciones amplias con grandes armarios y dos cuartos de baño (ducha y bañera) componen el diseño junto con una terraza inmensa. Lo bueno de estar situado dentro del resort es que tiene seguridad 24x7, esta cuidado y es completamente seguro. Al ser residentes, se tiene la opción de pasar el día en el resort (si es que se añora los USA o se desea no hacer nada en absoluto ese día). Por 25 dólares por persona, puedes pasártelo en grande, comer y beber todo lo que quieras y disfrutar de las actividades, piscinas y playa dentro del resort. Pero si lo que buscas es algo diferente y autentico, estar en el apartamento te da la libertad de ir a playas paradisíacas locales donde los autobuses no llegan, ir a ver ruinas a tu aire sin tener que esperar que el autobús de turistas te venga a recoger o ir en un tour y decidir lo que tú quieres hacer no lo que te vendan en el resort al precio que te lo vendan. También te permite practicar el idioma, hablar con los la gente local para comprar o comer, ver lo autentico del lugar. El apartamento tiene servicio de limpieza incluido. La señora Julia y el señor José están ahí diariamente de 9 a 5 y cualquier cosa que se necesita, ellos te lo proporcionan; ¿una cocinera? ¿una masajista a domicilio? Pídanlo, claro que serán gastos extra. El apartamento tiene agua potable en grandes botellas, no hay necesidad de preocuparse por el agua. Tiene dos 2TVs con cable, Direct TV, cantidad de futbol! películas para adultos y niños, toallas para la playa, sillas, etc., en fin es realmente su segunda casa. Ha sido ciertamente una decisión muy buena la que tomamos a la hora de alquilar el apartamento y un placer conocer a Malu, a Julia y José. Ah! Se me olvido algo importante. Es mucho más económico que ir al resort, donde para 4 personas, tienes solo una habitación pequeña con dos camas medianas y una televisión. Hagan sus cuentas!   ¿Cancún con adolescentes? Por supuesto. Un paraíso lleno de historia, de antiguas civilizaciones, de color y de playas fabulosas. El dilema es quedarse en un resort con todo incluido o alquilar un apartamento. Esta vez y por la primera vez después de haber ido a México varias veces desde que los niños eran pequeños, decidimos alquilar un apartamento. ¿Por qué? Simple. Los niños son mayores, ya necesitan su habitación. También necesitamos todos más espacio para estar más independientes, cocinar lo que queramos (o no pero se tiene la opción) y tener una experiencia local mas autentica. El resort nos ha servido bien cuando los niños eran pequeños (kids club y comida y bebidas a todas horas ) pero la experiencia no es realmente autentica. El resort es un enclave para el mercado americano en México mayormente. Sales de USA y llegas a USA, lleno de americanos y canadienses buscando calor, playas y mucha comida y bebida gratuita donde se oye ingles mayormente. Esta vez decidimos alquilar un apartamento. Mire las páginas de VRBO y ahí encontré el precioso apartamento de Malu. Situado dentro del resort Sirenis, al lado de Akumal, sur de Cancun (1 hora en coche) y norte de Tulum (15 minutos) este era exactamente el lugar donde quería llevar a mi familia a ver las ruinas mayas, playas y cenotes. To rent the apartment is much more economical than to go to the resort where you only get one crummy room (2 queen beds and 1 TV for 4 people). Do your math!

  I got in touch with Malu and did not regret it a bit. On the contrary, we will repeat the experience. The apartment is part of a 3 block residential complex called KAOI. The place is really spacious. It has a very ample salon-eating area and an American kitchen with all the necessary items to host a family of 4. Two big sleeping rooms with two bathrooms (shower and bathtub) make up the floor plan together with a large terrace. The great thing about being located inside the resort is that there is 24x7 security service, it is taken care of and totally protected. Because you are a resident of the resort property, you have the option to spend your day in the resort (if case you are missing back home or you don’t feel like doing anything that day). For the price of $25 per person, you can enjoy all the fun in the resort, activities, beaches, pools, and eat and drink all you want. But if what you are looking for is something different, to be in the apartment gives you the freedom to go to local paradise like beaches where the tourist buses cannot get in; it gives you the option to see the ruins on your own without having to wait for the tourist bus to come and pick you up, and it gives you the power to decide what you want to do not what the resort wants to sell to you at the price they want to sell it. Renting the apartment will also allow you to practice the language. You will want to talk to the local people in order to buy food or eat in a restaurant or just to explore the area. The apartment has a clean service included. Senora Julia and Senor Jose are there daily from 9 to 5 pm to take care of the place and the guests. Anything you need, they will be happy to provide. You want a cook? a massage? Just ask. Of course that will be extra but you have the option. There is drinking water inside the apartment, no need to worry about it. There are 2 big cable TVs with direct TV, lots of soccer on TV, films for children and adults, towels for the beach, chairs, etc., in conclusion it is like your home away from home. It has been a truly great experience for us to rent Malu’s apartment and a pleasure to meet her, Julia and Jose. Oh! I forgot something important. To rent the apartment is much more economical than to go to the resort where you only get one crummy room (2 queen beds and 1 TV for 4 people). Do your math!

  Going to Cancun with teens? Sure! a paradise full of history, of old civilizations, a vivid and colorful place with sandy crystal beaches. My dilemma was to go to an all-included resort or to rent an apartment. This time and for the first time after visiting Mexico several times since the kids were small, we decided to rent an apartment. Why? Very simple. The kids are teens now and they need their own room. We all need more space so we don’t walk in each other’s feet. We can cook whatever we want (or not but we have the option) and we can have a more authentic local experience. The resort was not pricy because the kids were free (kids-club, food and drinks anytime) but the experience was not really a genuine one, just a practical one. The resorts in Mexico are mainly geared towards the American market. You leave USA and you arrive to USA, the place is full of Americans and Canadians looking for hot weather, beaches and lots of free food and drinks where you mostly hear English. So this time we decided to rent an apartment. Thru VRBO , I saw Malu’s beautiful apartment. It was located inside the Sirenis Resort, next to Akumal, south of Cancun (1 hour by car) and north of Tulum (15 minutes by car). Tulum was exactly where I wanted to take my family to explore the Mayan ruins, the most beautiful beaches and the cenotes.

  I rented this condo at the beginning of May for 4 nights. I was looking for a very comfortable place with air conditioning in between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. This place is fantastic. As you can see in the photos, the place is very new, extremely well kept-up, and has very modern appliances and furniture. There are nice porches in every direction ( 4 actually), two of which have a limited view of the ocean. The beach at Sirenis is a bit rocky and while i was there it was a bit stormy, so the waves were too big for me to swim. The beach is about a 4 minute walk. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is great, and there is laundry service available. There was a cleaning service, but it only came one day during my stay as I was there during a famous Mexican long-weekend (puente). So I can't really speak to the cleaning except that the condo was perfectly clean and ready for my arrival. I have already made a reservation to stay again in June!
