  ALMOST HEAVEN was indeed, almost heaven. Large rooms, comfy beds, lots of blankets for chilly nights, well equipped. Our son got married at the CHIMNEYS and it was very close by. The place is as good as it looks in the photos, too. After some looking around, you realize how e a s y it is to find your way around. Maps are provided but learn your way around in the daylight. We will definitely come back in warmer weather to enjoy the rest of the amenities. The owners are very conscientious and helpful and great to work with, too. Merry O Merry O.

  We loved the house. Everything was exactly like the pictures and description. The owners of the house were wonderful. He even called to tell us snowy weather was expected Sat night, and to not worry about getting iced in, to just be safe. He also gave us the number of the security of Big Canoe to check the road conditions. 4 couples had plenty of room to spread out.

  We arrived just in time for the Apple Festival in nearby Elijay and the beauty of the Fall colors! This house was beautiful and equipped with everything you need for your stay, even a coffee grinder! If you do not like driving in the mountains, this house is located fairly close to the main entrance and not a scary drive! The owners were easy to work with and called Friday afternoon to make sure everything was in order. I have used VRBO for rentals several times with good results. Tom and Judi just made renting a little easier! We will be returning!

  The property provided a perfect weekend retreat for my family as well two others. The location is beautiful, the house and furnishing are beautiful, and the nice walk down to the lake and beach were perfect to entertain the kids. We are already planning our trip back!

  This was a great weekend vacation for us. We hiked to Lower and Upper Falls (good stiff hike), and went down to the beach which located very close to the house (just down the hill). The owner was very responsive to our questions and went out of his way to ensure that we had a good time. Thanks.

  Well cared for property with great access to the beach and pool. Very nice setting. House is lovely and furnished very nice. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  We loved our vacation at the Big Canoe Lake in Almost Heaven!! The kitchen was so well stocked, the beds were so comfortable, the entire house was so clean, we loved our week there. We took our 4 small grandsons who loved the path to the beach, the pool, the paddle boats, and we even tried the canoes and loved those!! All of the adults and the older kids loved the rock slides also. We only left the property by car twice, once to the grocery store and once to eat at the Appalachian Grill which was also wonderful!! I recommend the house for your vacation and I know we will return for another restful and fun filled week!!

  If you are considering visiting Big Canoe, STAY HERE! The owners are so friendly and helpful. They have gone above and beyond to make their home comfortable for their guest. They really have thought of everything! It's not just the house, but the owners who made our stay to wonderful. We had a minor emergency and needed to have something overnighted from home, I called Tom and he went out of his way to help us find the best way to make that happen. Even going so far as to contact people locally, to make sure he gave us the best, most helpful info. He got back to me within 5-10 minutes. They truly go out of their way to ensure their guests have everything they need to enjoy themselves. This home is not only beautiful and comfortable, but it is centrally located to all the wonderful amenities Big Canoe has to offer. We could walk out the back door and down to the Swim Club area, where the beach, pool, rock slide, canoes and paddle boats were. Some of the hiking trails are only a short walk away. We stayed for a week, and only left the community to go to the store. Big Canoe has so much to offer, we did something different everyday. There is a grocery store/pharmacy located only about 15 mins away. You really only need to bring your clothes and groceries. Tom and Judi have a little piece of heaven in Big Canoe, and are kind enough to share it with others. You won't regret staying here. Thank you so much, we made a lot of great family memories while staying at your home.

  Everything you need right within walking distance!! The beautiful lake is right at your backdoor, rock slide was a BIG hit with the kids, 2 beautiful pools, fishing, boats, hiking, literally everything you could want! The home was beautiful and big. We had 4 families and everyone had their own corner of the house to go to with lots of space. It was the best family vacation we've ever had. We've gone to Gatlinburg, Gulf Shores and the Ozarks, this was definitely the BEST!! Thanks, Tom!
