This was our 8th trip to the island, obviously we enjoy it very much! In all our stays I would have to say this villa was by far the best accomodations that we have had. There were 5 people in our group including our daughter, her friend and my brother from Minnesota. It is exactly as it is in the pictures - very spacious with breathtaking views!! It is very well appointed with plenty of space to sit or lay around. We felt very comfortable and safe as it has a gate that you can lock while you are away. Having a private pool was great at the end of the day to relax by while enjoying a beverage. It is very conveniently located to some of our favorite restaurants - Jimbo's, Valentinos, Topper's and don't miss the Carousel with all it's goodies including ice cream and gelato... I can't say enough wonderful things about Hema. She was lovely and very helpful, she always made sure that everything was in order and that we had what we needed. She certainly represents the owner well, we had no issues with booking or with payments. I would highly recommend this beautful villa!! I can't wait to go back... This villa provides the relaxation that we need every year.!We have rented from this owner 4 times and will be returning in 2014. He is always accommodating, booking is easy with paypal and he stays in touch prior to your visit. The villa looks just like the pictures for sure the view from the gazebo is fantastic. It’s nice having your own swimming pool. They are starting to do some upgrading the new fridge was great. We have made some minor recommendations to the owner on updating the villa – we hope that he will take these updates into consideration - replacing some outdoor cushion, updating bedding and the bbq. The only other issue was the internet was not reliable. These are all very minor issues and would never stop us from renting here again. The floor plan of the house is ideal for 2 couples the ensuite bedrooms walk right onto the pool deck. The location is great – small beach area, walking distance to grocery stores, bars, casino and restaurants. I recommend trying these restaurants: The Bucaneer, The Greenhouse, Pineapple Pete’s, La Vista is great for breakfast and we enjoyed the Hollywood Casino the employees are a lot of fun. We do rent a car and visit other areas of the island. We have never had any issues with feeling unsafe we keep all the doors, windows and gates locked. Villa Blue Cap is very reasonably priced compared to a lot other villas in the Pelican Key area. Hema is always there when you need her, very friendly, and keeps the villa clean. We enjoy talking to her each year and catching up on what has happened since our last visit. We are counting down the days until our next visit to Villa Blue Cap.

Just returned from Saint Martin. The house was quite nice -- really airy and spacious. Needs a bit of tender loving care -- one of the tvs didn't work in the bedrooms, the freezer wouldn't freeze ice cream, one of the tap handles came off when we turned it, the outdoor loungers were foam with no covers on them (although we found the covers in the dryer the day before we left) but all in all pretty good. Renting the house we found very difficult. The owner and Hema were not very responsive to emails. Hema had offered to rent a car for us and then a week before we were leaving and followed up with her, she had forgotten. We paid the deposit and balance owing by money order. Half way through our stay Hema advised that the original deposit we had sent had been returned to our bank and "would be waiting for us when we returned." We phoned our bank and that was not the case! Then she changed her story to say that the bank in Saint Martin was holding it for 6 to 8 weeks. A money order is as good as cash so we found this a little odd to say the least. I have rented many houses from VRBO and have never had this much hassle before. Their attitude seemed to be that they were doing us a favour by renting us the house. I would go back to Saint Martin as the island is beautiful but wouldn't rent this house again.

Owner response: I bring you some precision and hope to change your impression. I shall send you separately documents giving evidences of my observations All right for the malfunction of refrigerators. We changed them for new this week. For the 4th TV it was a simple adapter probably taken by error by the previous tenants. Covers are regularly cleaned . I come to the main part there concerning the payments: from the beginning you receive before any commitment a clear information about rates and methods of payments. In your case while February is the most wanted (hundreds requests) I gave you by error a low season rate (I am a surgeon and sometimes draft these documents without the necessary time but I keep this rate without discussion. you had a clear information about the different rates for 2 or 3 rooms. I drafted a document for the use of 2 rooms(chambers) and an information for the method of payment. Despite of the US check only indication you have send a Canadian check .So we put back this check to the bank and we informed you again that the Canadian checks were not accepted. You answered us that you go adjusted on arrival with cash and INSTEAD of it you again brought a Canadian check. You presented a document of rent that you modified 3 rooms but leaving the rate for 2 rooms !!! during your stay your 620usd deposit cheque was cancelled on my account We were convocated to the bank, spent hours to restore this check to the special department of covering(collection) 10days later the account was recredited of 543usd with still 38usd of fees! So for the simple deposit hours of lost and 115dollars of expenses for a check of 620usd... You can imagine what waits us for the check of 1600usd.!!! In an identical situation december 012 a check of 3500usd was definitively rejected... So did you think and say that a check is the same thing as cash?? For Canadians guests we have 4 payment methods: Paypal, wire transfer,UScheck and cash and for everybody don't worry it is not possible to find a more serious and helpful manager than Hema.

I just got back from this beautiful home. It is exactly as pictured. It is spacious and our family of 5 had plenty of room to spread out. Hema, the concierge/housekeeper, was just wonderful and had beer waiting for us when we arrived. The house was close to restaurants and grocery. It is only about 30-40 ft from the ocean. The views from the house are spectacular, especially from the upper deck which is well furnished for many people to sit out and relax. There is a grill area, outdoor bar, l and plenty of tables and seating. It's so nice to have the pool right there and not have to worry about the kids using a resort pool where you have to escort them everytime. Every furnishing throughout the house and outside is in new condition. The house is very clean and bright with a lot of light streaming in. Bedding and towels are all very nice. I can go on and on about this house. We really, really enjoyed our stay! You won't be disappointed. There are many great beaches around St. Maarten. We found Great Bay to be one of the best, just a small drive to Phillipsburg area. In the area of the house, Skip Jack's has the best seafood and Pineapple Pete's is a nice place to hang out for dinner and fun. Peli Deil is very close for groceries. Booking this home was effortless. The owner was very easy to deal with.

We had a wonderful few (too few!) days at the villa! The house was exactly as pictured. The bed was very, very comfortable and the pool was lovely. I was able to put together meals in the bright sunny easy to use kitchen. My only complaint would be that the homes next door are very close and the area could have been alittle nicer. We are planning to come back again....thank you!

Our vacation at The blue Cap Villa was absolute luxury! My husband, my two best friends for many, many years and I spent a week enjoying the Blue Cap Villa and the island. We had a lovely time, and we can't wait to return! The house is breathtaking, and it is decorated beautifully. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens, it is very clean and is well-maintained. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee & a pop for me while taking in the scenery. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a lovely meal. It is a short walk to the beach where you can take in some amazing sunsets.! The three bedrooms are all air conditioned so you can sleep in comfort. The beds were very, very comfortable. I can not remember sleeping so well in the islands. Hema was very helpful, respectful and gave us a lot of information about the island. We would highly recommend The Blue Cap Villa to anyone without hesitation. You will not be disappointed. There are numerous activities and restaurants nearby in walking distance. We walked a lot. The beaches are beautiful. The Gazebo is a wonderful place for Happy Hour. You could take in the views around you, listen to music of your liking and enjoy the moment with your husband & friends. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you for a memorable vacation! Fiona & David

The Blue Cap Villa on St Maarten is a lovely and spacious villa with all the comforts of home! The villa was very clean, the outdoor furniture was in excellent condition and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. It has a nice view of the ocean and it was relaxing and enjoyable to sit outside and eat breakfast in the morning or have a drink in the evening in the Gazebo and listen to the ocean. The beach in front of the villa is not good for swimming as it is rocky – but it is nice to go for walks on the beach. It is in close proximity to several restaurants, bars, a small casino, shops, a beach for swimming and a deli where you could get food, wine, beer, liquor, suntan lotion etc.. A very nice touch is basic food items are stocked in the fridge and cabinets like beer, wine, water, bread, eggs, butter, cheese, juice, milk, coffee, tea etc. so the guests don’t have to run to the grocery store as soon as they arrive. Hema the concierge / housekeeper is very helpful with anything that you may need during your stay (i.e. rental car, cell phones, airport pick-up etc.). We enjoyed our stay at Blue Cap immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again! We had a relaxing stay and found Blue Cap to be a “gem” of a place!

This was our first trip out of the country and it was the best experience we ever had! We searched many villas prior to coming to St. Maarten and fell in love with Villa Blue Cap. The views are breathtaking, you can hear the ocean right from the pool patio. Hema was our housekeeper/concierge, who is very polite, and respectful, we adored her very much. Hema is very resourceful you will find out. We wanted to go on a deep sea fishing trip and she knew the right person to call and made the arrangements for us. Four of us went on the fishing trip and we each caught a fish! We also took a boat excursion for the day around the island which was amazing, and Hema knew the owner too.The house was immaculate all the times and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed at the villa most of the time and if we left anywhere it was to the grocery store or the little tiki bar/restaurant called Toppers, it's walking distance from the villa. Thank you for such a memorable vacation! We will definitely come back to Villa Blue Cap! Melissa and Lace,Veda, Vicki, Laurie and Howard

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoed our stay at Blue Cap Villa. It was everything we hoped for. The accomadations were as depicted in the photos. We so enjoyed the view from the gazebo and the pool deck. THe kitchen was well equipped and the barbeque was used. I've always felt like St. Martin was my second home but coming back to Blue Cap everyday really felt like home. Hema was a joy. Lovely young lady who ensured everything was maintained and satisfactory.

The Villa Blue Cap was very nice and spacious with spectacular views of the Caribbean and St. Eustacius Island. The pool was excellent, especially in the evening. The covered deck on the main level was the perfect place to read or just enjoy the view. Housekeeping was done daily, and Heema the housekeeper, was wonderful, provided great service and was very helpful. Everything was clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are air conditioned. The main level is not, but the Caribbean breezes keep the main level very comfortable. The kitchen cookware is functional and basic but would not, for example, support any gourmet cooking. There is a good gas grill for barbecuing. The beach is a few yards away and is nice to walk but fairly narrow and rocky. With a car (highly recommended), some awesome beaches are 15 to 20 minutes away. Baie aux Prunes (Plum Bay) beach is stunning with few people. Other beaches like Orient Beach are more European with chairs and umbrellas, but the beach itself is spectacular and the body surfing was excellent. We took a day sail on the Heineken catamaran to the island of Anguilla, which includes lunch, a short tour of the island, and a few hours at one of the best beaches in the world, Shoal Beach. The Blue Cap Villa is pretty much as advertised, and my wife and I definitely recommend it.

for the Caribbean OK, in proportion to other Villas - worldwide - big deductions are to be done. In particular the outside arrangement and the kitchen are in a bad state.
