  my first Lake Placid stay was way better than I expected considering great town indeed,pretty many places to go and the nature is real!y awesome.The house we rented was magnificent...lots of space for everybody...the fireplace is just immaculate ...special thanx to Todd ...he was really in great help renting the house...will come back for sure!!!

  We stayed 4 nights at this lovely house. Our stay was very confortable. The location of this house is perfect, just a few minutes away from Whiteface and the downtown. We will definitely go back.

  This was one of the best rentals we have had. The home is a wonderful base, close to everything we love about this region - hiking, kayaking, and the town of Lake Placid. The photos do not do the place justice, it is much nicer than the photos appear. The furnishings are beautiful and in good condition. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds - firm mattresses - all of us slept well. The kitchen comes equipped with all the conveniences a cook would want and then some - there is even a Cuisinart! The back patio faces into woods, many choice seats, and the most comfortable hammock (makes for great star gazing at night!). Additionally, the owners are accommodating, friendly, and able to share hiking information (very helpful helpful to us). I highly recommend Cobblenook. You will not be disappointed with this rental. In fact, it would be a great first or second home of your own!

  We rented Cobblenook with our family of 5 in July and loved it. Plenty of room, great kitchen, beautiful surroundings-we found it very relaxing. The cabin is beautiful inside, has a great deck and grill and is walkable to town. Todd was also very helpful-recommended hikes, restaurants and activities for our family. Altogether, a great experience and would definitely rent again.

  Our family of four (parents and two adult boys) sent a wonderful week at cobblenook during the first week of January. We were delighted to stay at such a spacious, well appointed home. The galley style kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Great pots and pans made cooking dinners a pleasure. The weber bbq was a nice touch too. The beds were very comfortable and the bed rooms spacious. Two complete bathrooms made for quicker exits to the ski hills in the morning. And lounging in the living room with a fire burning was a great way to end the day. The owners were responsive when any issues arose. Their local rep who cared for the hour kept the driveway plowed and the fire wood well stocked for our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable house able to accommodate two (or three) couples or a family with a couple kids, this is a great option. Lovely secluded lot with easy access to town and the nearby sports venues. There are cheaper places to stay, but likely no better values. We will certainly consider returning in summer or winter.

  My family and friends stayed at this property for four nights from 12/28/11-1/1/12. There were five of us and the house was the perfect size. It's very roomy and comfortable and had a very cozy feel to it. We especially loved the stone fireplace which we used every day and the beautiful dining room. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to cook in. It was our first visit to Lake Placid and this house was in the perfect location to all the sights we wanted to visit - Olympic Village, Ski Jumping Complex, Sports Complex etc. Todd, the owner of the house was extremely helpful before and during our stay. I would highly recommend this house when in Lake Placid and my family and I are already thinking about when we will return.

  This was our first time using VRBO and first time visiting Lake Placid. What a great house to rent, a ten minute walk to the village but still maintains privacy. The owner and property manager really care about the happinness of their tenants. This home has a great open floor plan centered around a huge stone fireplace. The Adirondack style dining room table, leather furniture and large deck make for a comfortable stay. House was clean and well equipped. Cannot say enough about the village as well, its clean, friendly and has great shops and restaurants. Not to mention the Olympic history! We can't wait return to Lake Placid and would love to rent this home again.

  We had only a weekend to spend in Lake Placid and were very happy with this cottage. It is neat and beautifully furnished inside, convenient to get into town, and accomodated the group of 6 of us comfortably. Highlights include the stone fireplace, secluded back yard with a large porch and the well-equipped kitchen. Todd was also very friendly and reliable. We definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Lake Placid.

  Upon planning my vacation to the Adirondacks, I was looking for a rental centrally located to area attractions and able to comfortably accommodate two families with four young children (ages 2-9). My family was very happy with the stay at this very spacious unit, as its three bedrooms allowed for the kids to have their own room and the parents to have their separate bedrooms with full bathrooms. The fireplace in the living room set that special feeling during the cool nights, filling the unit with warmth and that lovely smell of burning wooden logs. The kids loved their room, playing in the huge backyard, relaxing on the hammock, and swimming at Mirror Lake beach which was about a five minute drive from the house. The kids' favorite breakfast spot was a five minute drive to Howard Johnson's, which included a great breakfast selection during the week, and a breakfast buffet on Sunday ($6.99). Since the property has a great fireplace, the kids enjoyed freshly made s'mores most of the nights. The kitchen was fully stacked with all the things you would find in your own kitchen, washer and dryer for a quick laundry, clean linens/towels, cable TV and to top it off free WI-FI connectivity. I hope to rent this unit again, and recommend will recommend it to as many friends and family that I can, if they are visiting the Adirondacks near the Lake Placid area. Some area attractions we visited and time it took from the house. Main Street, Lake Placid - 5 minutes drive White Face Mountain Summit by car - approx. 15 minute drive Olympic Ski Jump - 8 Minutes Olympic Center - 10 minutes Grocery Shopping for the BBQs - 5 minutes away. Restaurants - 5 minutes

  We had a great visit. Location was perfect - 5 min ride, 15 min walk to town. Great deck in the back for BBQ with all the tools necessary. Bed rooms large, great dining room table and kitchen. Would love to come back!
