Hillside Beach is located on a one-way street which serves only the houses on three blocks. It is a safe, quiet place to completely relax on vacation. Walk a few feet down to the water's edge and watch the birds, boats and just enjoy the quiet lapping of the water on an inlet of Long Island Sound.
A beautiful beach is a short walk away and is surrounded by interesting mansions. The curved one-way street keeps the traffic away from the beach area. Bicycles can be carried on the Metro-North train which goes to Milford and New Haven, both within five miles of Hillside Beach so there is no need for a car. Several good restaurants are within walking or biking distance and many will deliver food to you at Hillside Beach.
The house was totally renovated in 2009 so everything inside and out are brand new. Summer weather is generally warm with short rain showers to keep the flowers around the house blooming all summer.
An open floor plan provides water views from the kitchen, dining and living areas. Three bedrooms are decorated uniquely to accommodate different tastes and sizes of beds. They are private and quiet for personal getaways.
The huge master bedroom has its own bath and open door to a private patio and rock-walled terrace with summer-long blooming flowers. A fireplace for cozy rainy or winter days can be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining, and living areas.
Hillside Beach is just an hour and a half from New York City and one hour from Hartford, CT. Airports serving the area are JFK, LaGuardia, White Plains, and Hartford.
Train stations from Milford and New Haven are served by several taxi companies.
Easy access to Interstate 95 makes Hillside Beach easy for driving.

I am a Certified Financial Planner who specializes in Real Estate investing and hospitality. I have had resort properties in Breckenridge, Colorado and owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast in Ames, Iowa near Iowa State University, my alma mater. I give workshops for people who aspire to owning a bed and breakfast and provide on-site consulting to get them up and running successfully. I have lived in various parts of the U.S., traveled to many countries, and enjoyed guests from all over the world who stayed at my B&B and now visit Haven Retreat and Hillside Beach my vacation houses in West Haven and Milford,CT.
Why the Owner Chose Milford
After owning several vacation properties in the Rocky Mountains, I wanted to have a vacation home near the ocean. This location is a secluded residential area between Milford and West Haven, CT and is far enough from major noisy roads and close enough to provide services and retail for all my needs. Several good restaurants are nearby and many others are within a few miles. Yale University provides cultural entertainment and has world-renown medical facilities. This seems like the perfect vacation spot for me and to share with like-minded families and individuals.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I enjoy the closeness to the ocean and the calm I feel when I look out at the water. The one-way street serving just the neighborhood adds to the calming effect. Everything in the house is brand new and the house is so efficiently furnished that clutter is not necessary. Besides the water view from the front of the house, the lovely yard behind the house lends itself to help me feel at one with nature. A cozy fire on a rainy or snowy day makes me feel at home on a quiet weekend away from city stress.
