This charming one-bedroom apartment in the heart of Recoleta is an excellent choice for your stay in Buenos Aires. Located on one of the city's most elegant avenues, the apartment faces the back of the building and is thus, extremely quiet.
The truly special element is a private garden patio adjacent to the living room, where high walls and ambient lighting create an excellent space for dining, cocktails or answering emails. When you do head out, you'll find that the location is incredibly central. As an Argentine friend said to me, 'If you were going to put a pin on the most desired location in Buenos Aires, it would be on this apartment.' Countless shops and restaurants are right outside your door. The famed Recoleta Cemetery as well as the city's finest hotels are a few minutes walk away.
The space is both comfortable and modern. It features marble-accented bathrooms, a fully outfitted, granite finished kitchen and a large sofa area that is perfect for relaxing. The bedroom is an ensuite with a king bed and also has a small external patio. The living and dining area is spacious and huge (especially by Argentine standards!)
Recoleta is adjacent to several neighborhoods including Palermo and Plaza San Martin, both of which are a short taxi ride away.

My wife and I stayed here for a week. It's a nice one-bedroom place with a well-equipped kitchen and a garden/patio in the back. Even though it's on a major street, it's very quiet. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is roomy, and the place is within easy walking distance of food shopping and some good restaurants. The owner couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. I highly recommended this apartment.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is a wonderful one-bedroom apartment with a garden/patio off the living room. It has a main bathroom with a nice shower, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable bed. There's a washing machine, a TV (which we never used), and a small safe. It's in a great location, close to a number of good restaurants and a supermarket. Cabs are a snap to hail on the street on which the apartment sits. You can also walk to a lot of the city's attractions from here. Virginia, the owner, couldn't be nicer. You really can't go wrong with this place.Owner response: Thanks Kenny and Angela! You two were incredible to deal with, so the pleasure is all mine. One of the wonderful unexpected consequences of renting this apartment has been the people who have come into my life. Be well and thank you ever so much for sharing your joy with me. Warm regards, Virginia

My husband and I spent 3 weeks in Virginia's apartment in Recoleta. The listing description is very accurate as are the photos. The apartment is extremely well situated , we walked everywhere and only did a taxi for long distances, like the airport, or the bus depot. The property is clean and a cleaning lady comes twice a week and is excellent. Virginia was outstanding at answering emails promptly, providing information, almost a manual ,to acquaint you with the apartment and the neighbourhood. Virginia was very helpful and enthusiastic. We would highly recommend the apartment and certainly would stay again ourselves if we go back to Buenos Aires. We enjoyed exploring all areas of Buenos Aires as it is a very diverse city. Lots of free activities too, if you know where to look for them. There are free classical music concerts every week with the BA Law school, and in addition lots of other free concerts and art programs through the various cultural centres. I simply googled free activities in BA and angloinfo Buenos Aires. Also the National Arts Museum is free on Tuesdays and the MALBA ( Latin American art) is reduced in price on Wednesdays. Both are great. The San Telmo market on Sundays on Defensa Street is amazing, and there are numerous touching political events such as the madres in Plaza de Mayo on Thursday afternoon. If you can attend a football game like we did ( we went as part of a tour and would recommend that ) it is a great experience., lots of fun. Buenos Aires is an amazing city with something for everyone. An exceptional city , and a great location and apartment to explore from.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Cecilia and Gordon! We agree- we too love the apartment and the location of that apartment!! It is simply a treasure that we were ever so fortunate to find. You were a complete pleasure to deal with. Our world is better when we meet people like you! Your extra tips for enjoying the city are perfect! We have spent a lot of time in Buenos Aires and you searched out things that I have never found. Your advice is ever so useful. Take care and many thanks for enjoying our home in Buenos Aires.

Virginia and Don, Caroline and I cannot say enough wonderful things about your place in Recoletta. It served us as the perfect location for all our day trips throughout BA. To both start and end our days out on the patio was truly amazing!! It was a real treat to be able to also meet you and Don at Melo's (best in BA!!) and share stories about this wonderful city. We are so glad we found this place and recommend it highly to anyone wanting a safe, clean and comfortable stay in BA. All the very best, Brian and CarolineRecommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Caroline and Brian! It was ever so much fun to actually meet you and have dinner together!!! I always knew that the nicest, most interesting people rented our apartment, but to have the opportunity to meet you, to drink champagne and malbec with you, to have dinner at Melo (I absolutely agree that it's the best!) with you and to laugh and chat til the wee hours was way too much fun. Be well and I sure hope to see you again soon....and maybe even to meet other people who rent our apartment!!

My wife and I along with my oldest son had the good fortune of coming across and deciding to stay in this awesome apartment. We really had no idea how to decide on a place as we traveled to pick up our son who had spent the last two years in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. My son was busy with his things and he didn't have time to arrange an apartment for us but he gave us a few recommendations of what areas of the city would be good to stay. Out of pure luck, we chose Recoleta. It turned out to be perfect! Working with Virginia could not have been better and everything she told us about the apartment and surrounding area is true. She responded promptly to my emails (most of the time within minutes) and was very knowledgeable and helpful. The apartment was clean, roomy with an awesome bed, shower and patio. We even entertained guests a night or two (native Argentinians)and they were very impressed as well. We felt very safe, there was a bank with an ATM a block away, the store for groceries was very close and we found it very easy to access the subway and other modes of transportation without difficulty. We walked easily to the Recoleta Cemetery and found several fun places to eat close by including a great ice cream store just down the street. If we ever have the good fortune of ever returning to Buenos Aires, I know exactly where we will stay and I would recommend that you do the same.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

In February, my husband and I ventured forth on a most wonderful 2 week vacation from Long Island, NY to Buenos Aires. We found Virginia's apartment through VRBO, saw the pictures and spoke with Virginia. She made the arrangements so easy and her friendliness made me feel quite at ease. Our vacation was wonderful and the apartment was all it appeared to be-clean, spacious and very comfortable. Buenos Aires was very hot and particularly humid when we visited and after a hot day around town, the apartment was our sanctuary. We were in the heart of Recoleta but sitting in the cool living room, looking out at the garden, you would never guess that just outside the front door were the city streets. Not a sound, not a peep of outside street noise-just the little birds on the patio looking for a bit of a treat. Virginia also left a great deal of information concerning restaurants and places to food shop as well as places to visit. We used this information often. I also must mention that the shower was fabulous! Virginia is the best! If we had any questions, we could call her or send an e-mail and she responded very quickly, 100% of the time! My children don't even do that! I would not only whole heartedly recommend Virginia's apartment to future travelers, but we would definitely stay here again. Wish it could be soon! Thank you for everything, Virginia. Harold and LydiaRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Lydia and Harold! I appreciate you saying that I respond quickly, but I believe that if a guest wants a bit of assistance, the least I can do is to give it to them! It makes their vacation ever so much easier. You were such a pleasure to deal with and I sure hope you do come back soon. Buenos Aires is simply a city that gets in your heart and Recoleta is definitely the area you want to be.

The apartment is ideal for a couple to enjoy the hussle and buzz of Buenoes Aires, while providing a quiet oasis to return to each day. The garden is immense (for a major city location) and the apartment itself is larger than you imagine from the pictures. Both are tastefully decorated and well maintained. The garden patio gets direct sun from about 11:00 to 15:00, and is well lighted for use in the evening. The location is ideal for exploring Buenos Aires. There are excellent local shops for essentials, speciality stores and restaurants all within walking distance. The subway (Subte) is a short walk away for exploring other districts in Buenos Aires, and taxis are plentiful right outside the building door. While the building is located on a major street, the apartment is in the back of the building. This makes the unit very quiet, and the garden relatively private. City and street noise were never an issue for sleeping. The owner was very helpful with information about the apartment, and the area. There are great instructions provided to find local shops for food and other essentials, and local restaurant recommendations. Booking was straightforward and without hassels. We would highly recommend this property to family and friends, and we plan to return next year for a longer stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Jeff. It sounds as though you enjoyed both the apartment and the location! You were a complete pleaure to have. I do hope that you come back soon!! The apartment awaits.

Thanks Virginia your apartment was always so nice to come back to after exhausting hours exploring the city. The garden patio is truly an oasis in the bustling city. We found your information very helpful and the restaurants and shops in the area were excellent. The apartment was in a great location that felt safe and was central enough to all the great areas of BA. We could walk ( the best way to see this city ) to most of the major sites or easily hail a taxi. We loved our vacation in Argentina and BA is a beautiful city, worts and all. Thanks again for all your help, little things like aranging our ride back to the airport were greatly appreciated. Joe & JenniferRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Jennifer and Joe!! You were a pleasure to deal with!! You are so right- the garden is a special oasis and the location simply cannot be beat. BsAs is truly a walking city, but, again, you are so right, you want to start in the right location! I am so glad that you enjoyed yourselves and thank you again for being such wonderful people to meet. Virginia

Thank you Virginia for the use of your wonderful apartment during our pre-cruise time in Buenos Aires. It was wonderfully located, comfortable, and light-filled. We enjoyed the Wifi and entertainment center when not roaming the beautiful city. We especially have to thank you for your responsiveness and for all the super information you provided us on the city, restaurants, and sites. Directions were perfect, and we enjoyed Melo, La Brigada (our favorite) and El Mirasol. We LOVED BA and your assistance made our trip even better. Please thank Osvaldo for us as well. J&KRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Dear J and K, The very best part about renting our apartment is the people we meet, if only in cyberspace! Working with you has been a complete pleasure. I am so glad that you enjoyed your time in Buenos Aires. You clearly bring a wonderful joy with you wherever you go.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: I design leather and fur clothing and handbags in Buenos Aires. Because of that, I am there a lot and wanted a home base for myself when I am in Buenos Aires. You will feel at home here. From the wedgwood china to the extra comfortable bed, this apartment is definitely outfitted to be the most enjoyable experience for both you and me!
Why the Owner Chose Recoleta:
As one of my Argentine associates said to me, if you were putting a pin on a map of Buenos Aires, targeting the very best location, it would be my apartment. It is quiet, yet close to absolutely everything. You will walk the city from this location. The neighbourhood is thriving and alive with more restaurants and shops than you can possibly want, but safe and secure.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
People are astounded when they see the garden that is part of this apartment. Two complete walls are windows to the garden, making the whole apartment airy and open. I normally leave the doors wide open, allowing the breezes to flow through the apartment. Since we are at the back of the apartment, the most common noise is that of the birds singing.
To make it complete, the location simply cannot be beat! Restaurants and shops abound right outside the door. If you don't want to walk, taxis are easy and plentiful, while the subway is just down the street.
