My wife and I along with my oldest son had the good fortune of coming across and deciding to stay in this awesome apartment. We really had no idea how to decide on a place as we traveled to pick up our son who had spent the last two years in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. My son was busy with his things and he didn't have time to arrange an apartment for us but he gave us a few recommendations of what areas of the city would be good to stay. Out of pure luck, we chose Recoleta. It turned out to be perfect! Working with Virginia could not have been better and everything she told us about the apartment and surrounding area is true.She responded promptly to my emails (most of the time within minutes) and was very knowledgeable and helpful. The apartment was clean, roomy with an awesome bed, shower and patio. We even entertained guests a night or two (native Argentinians)and they were very impressed as well. We felt very safe, there was a bank with an ATM a block away, the store for groceries was very close and we found it very easy to access the subway and other modes of transportation without difficulty. We walked easily to the Recoleta Cemetery and found several fun places to eat close by including a great ice cream store just down the street. If we ever have the good fortune of ever returning to Buenos Aires, I know exactly where we will stay and I would recommend that you do the same.

Lovely, cool, quiet, comfortable sanctuary in Recoleta

In February, my husband and I ventured forth on a most wonderful 2 week vacation from Long Island, NY to Buenos Aires. We found Virginia's apartment through VRBO, saw the pictures and spoke with Virginia. She made the arrangements so easy and her friendliness made me feel quite at ease. Our vacation was wonderful and the apartment was all it appeared to be-clean, spacious and very comfortable. Buenos Aires was very hot and particularly humid when we visited and after a hot day around town, the apartment was our sanctuary. We were in the heart of Recoleta but sitting in the cool living room, looking out at the garden, you would never guess that just outside the front door were the city streets. Not a sound, not a peep of outside street noise-just the little birds on the patio looking for a bit of a treat. Virginia also left a great deal of information concerning restaurants and places to food shop as well as places to visit. We used this information often. I also must mention that the shower was fabulous! Virginia is the best! If we had any questions, we could call her or send an e-mail and she responded very quickly, 100% of the time! My children don't even do that! I would not only whole heartedly recommend Virginia's apartment to future travelers, but we would definitely stay here again. Wish it could be soon! Perfect pied-à-terre in Recoleta

The apartment is ideal for a couple to enjoy the hussle and buzz of Buenoes Aires, while providing a quiet oasis to return to each day. The garden is immense (for a major city location) and the apartment itself is larger than you imagine from the pictures. Both are tastefully decorated and well maintained. The garden patio gets direct sun from about 11:00 to 15:00, and is well lighted for use in the evening. The location is ideal for exploring Buenos Aires. There are excellent local shops for essentials, speciality stores and restaurants all within walking distance. The subway (Subte) is a short walk away for exploring other districts in Buenos Aires, and taxis are plentiful right outside the building door. While the building is located on a major street, the apartment is in the back of the building. This makes the unit very quiet, and the garden relatively private. City and street noise were never an issue for sleeping. The owner was very helpful with information about the apartment, and the area. There are great instructions provided to find local shops for food and other essentials, and local restaurant recommendations. Booking was straightforward and without hassels. We would highly recommend this property to family and friends, and we plan to return next year for a longer stay.

Thanks Virginia your apartment was always so nice to come back to after exhausting hours exploring the city. The garden patio is truly an oasis in the bustling city. We found your information very helpful and the restaurants and shops in the area were excellent. The apartment was in a great location that felt safe and was central enough to all the great areas of BA. We could walk ( the best way to see this city ) to most of the major sites or easily hail a taxi. We loved our vacation in Argentina and BA is a beautiful city, worts and all. Thanks again for all your help, little things like aranging our ride back to the airport were greatly appreciated. Joe & Jennifer

Thank you Virginia for the use of your wonderful apartment during our pre-cruise time in Buenos Aires. It was wonderfully located, comfortable, and light-filled. We enjoyed the Wifi and entertainment center when not roaming the beautiful city. We especially have to thank you for your responsiveness and for all the super information you provided us on the city, restaurants, and sites. Hi Virginia   Alas, we've come to the end of our stay in your airy garden apartment in fabulous Buenos Aires. We've had a marvellous time; we've walked and walked and walked (at times in places we shouldn't have; we had three locals tell us to head back to Caminito in La Boca when we strayed too far in our search of colourful houses) and it's been great to be able to come back to the apartment and rest in the middle of the day before heading out for another feast of the senses.   We have wandered through the amazing Parque Natural Y Reserva Ecologica Costanera Sur, enjoyed the ghoulish delights of La Recoleta Cementerio - with its avenues and streets, truly a walled city of the dead - and of course we had to go to Casa Rosa to see Evita's balcony. Other experiences that gave us a real feel for the spirit of the place were the San Telmo Fair and Sensaciones de Tango at Gran Cafe Tortoni. We were also lucky enough to experience a Buenos Aires Ciudad Celebration with choirs, an opera singer, traditional dancers from various regions in the most colourful and unusual costumes accompanied by equally colourful musicians and, the finale, flamenco dancers!   You were so right when you said we would love Buenos Aires and that Victoriano would look after us; he did, and was always incredibly friendly and helpful. But there is still so much to see; we'll just have to come back one day.   We fly out later today and hope to be able to leave our things in the apartment until about 1.45 pm if that's OK with you.   Thank you so much for sharing your apartment, your insights and beautiful Buenos Aires.   Cheers   Marilyn

The apartment was so comfortable. We forgot to leave the list of recommended wines ! A little bit of paradise...in the heart of Buenos Aries...

What can I say about the perfect city setting that hasn’t already been mentioned by others who have stayed here before me. It’s charm grows on you the longer you stay…that of the apartment, the city,the culture and the Argentine people. Favourites were the ‘garden terrace’, an idyllic spot to sample Malbecs in the early evening with local treats from the numerous bakeries and delicatessens. It has all the security and comfort of home in a wonderful cozy place, so centrally located that we were rarely in a vehicle. Having the option to dine in or out was perfect depending on the day and as a ‘working’ photographer on this trip, the ability to connect via phone and wireless allowed me to have the best of both worlds, especially after 10 or so hours a day walking…it was like coming home…’Argentine’ style…absolutely nothing was missing. As a matter of fact, my inner 'adventurer' tells me it would/will be the perfect place to begin a 'Southern Argentina' outdoorsy adventure next!

I left a little piece of me in Buenos Aires who now lives there forever

I have now been to Buenos Aires several times and staying at this flat is the optimal way. First of all, there is the location, you are in the heart of Recoleta which for anyone who has not been there resembles beaux Art Paris with more trees - Beautiful!! Despite its proximity to all the best things in Buenos Aires: Recoleta Cemetary, wonderful, unbelievably affordable restaurants, great shops especially if you have a yen for leather goods, food markets, wine stores, ice cream parlors, the artisan and antique markets to name a few..... the apartment is very quiet. You'll feel completely safe wandering around the city at all hours. The apartment, along with supplying you with anything that you can need, has the incredible added bonus of a garden at the back where , weather permitting, you'll live. All in all I can't recommend the apartment more enthusiastically; it's clean, safe, well appointed and unbelievably well located. Whether you want to walk to fine dining, cook at home, beat up the shops and markets, or take in the immense cultural heritage of Buenos Aires it's all easy, affordable and most enjoyable. My favourite eating places are "Melo" literally around the corner and El Mirasol - steak house to die for!! but I will always have a huge affection for the Winners Bakery, also right around the corner, for my morning croissant. There's also a great information sheet supplied that highlights all that you might want to take in. I would whole heartedly recommend this apartment for anyone staying in Buenos Aires. I first stayed in hotels, but think the experience of Buenos Aires is SO much more accessible and authentic and enjoyable from this vantage point

They always treat everyone like they are the most special guest ever….just as we like to do. From the steaks, to the gnocchi to incredible salads, you cannot go wrong! As for Winner Bakery, you made me hungry for the smell and taste of the media lunas, the unbelieveable lunches and fresh cappuccinos! I can taste them in my dreams. There is so much available at your fingertips when you are staying on Callao near Las Heras!
