Pelican Sound is a very private and peaceful community. Our beautiful 27-hole championship golf course, Restaurants on the grounds - casual and fine dining, Six pools (most with jacuzzis), Fitness Center, Har-Tru tennis courts, Nature trails, Estero River - canoe and kayaking. There are so many amenities available to you to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.
Special attention should be given to a unique service which a guest of ours once called "The Hidden Jewel at Pelican Sound." A boat shuttle runs on a regular basis from Pelican Sound to Lover's Key State Park and Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. This free service (to community members and guests only) sails down the pristine Estero River. On the way, you can see Florida wildlife living among the mangroves. You'll sail through San Carlos Bay observing the many schools of dolphins/porpoises playing and feeding. You are put ashore at the sugar-sand beaches of Lover's Key where you'll find quiet seclusion and great shelling.
Our finely decorated and comfortable coach home/condo is on the first floor-no stairs! We're on a quiet side street. Attached garage - keeps your car out of the hot sun.
Enjoy your quiet mornings with a warm cup of coffee on the large, screened-in lanai, watching in peace as the egrets wade right by you along the shore of our lake as they look for small fish for breakfast. See curious turtles popping their heads out of the water (along with an occasional alligator). Watch soaring birds overhead (I have personally seen a bald eagle on two separate occasions. What a thrill!). Listen to the songbirds in the swaying palm trees. In the evening watch the beautiful Florida sunsets out the screened lanai over the large lake and golf course.
Getting bored? Watch the golfers tee it up on one of Pelican Sounds Par three holes. You have a great view of every shot from tee to green. Very entertaining.
