Ideally located on the Sonoma/Napa County border, this is a prime wine country location for easy access to both famous valleys. This private cabin like retreat is secluded and surrounded by 100 foot tall Firs and Redwoods. The house is Nestled in the rugged hills between Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Located 1.5 hours North of San Francisco, and just 10 minutes from the town of Calistoga. Beautiful back roads lead you to many hidden winery's in every direction.
The house is fully appointed, casual, warm, and beautifully decorated with hardwood floors throughout. There are 2 bedrooms in the main house, and a custom slate tile bathroom. The interior and living room overlook the garden and garden cottage, and the forest beyond. The Garden Cottage sleeps 2 and has its own deck and cozy outside seating area. Inside the house is a large fully equipped chefs kitchen. The kitchen is open with bar seating, perfect for socializing and preparing meals if you stay in. The combined living and dining room looks out on the garden and cottage, and has comfortable couches, chairs, books, and fireplace. In addition, there is a large screen TV with Satellite TV, TIVO, DVD, and IPod/Bose sound dock.
Outside the kitchen and living room is a large deck with outdoor seating and gas BBQ with views of the forest. There is ample sun and shade, and a whimsical garden and waterfall fountain to soothe and amuse you. All this situated only a short drive from many award winning wineries and restaurants, and towns of Sonoma, Kenwood, Calistoga, and St. Helena. Excellent hiking can be found in State Parks nearby. You can even visit the world famous Culinary Institute of America. Also nearby are numerous spa's which offer massages, mud baths, and mineral pools. Our vacation house is stocked with guide books, and maps of sites and winery's. A great place to explore or relax in the beautiful wine country. Additional photos available to email.
