From the second we opened the door into the main room of this amazing cottage, we were in love and felt instantly at home. What a wonderful feeling this getaway home has! It is clear how loved the Cypress Cottage has been for many years and what a great, great story on how it came to sit on the side of this beautiful lake. We wrote in the Guest Book about all the wildlife we saw and how we spent almost the entire trip at the cottage, when we had originally planned all these outings. Once there, we just didn't want to leave. We did go into historic Floral City Saturday afternoon for a while and we were enchanted. The Heritage Museum is not to be missed, not only for the great history but for the wonderful people that volunteer there. The little bakery (which looks like a house) has the best cinnamon raisin bread and the woman that owns the small store called "Forgotten Treasures" was a treasure herself. The cottage is so well-kept and loved and we didn't want for a thing. The fireplace was such a treat, the character of the cottage is fascinating, the deck is perfect and honestly? The pictures don't do it justice. Chris couldn't have been more kind, helpful or considerate. It was my birthday the day we checked in and he had everything so ready and perfect for us. Thank you! I have decided that this is where I want to spend each birthday because I came back completely renewed and relaxed. Thank you for sharing such a special place with us.

We had a wonderful time at our Cypress Lake Cottage. It was an awesome cabin, with a beautiful view, and a very peaceful place. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, actually we hated to leave! The owners were very accommodating.

Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage. From the moment we stepped in the living room we felt the good atmosphere. We sure enjoyed the BBQ, the lovely and powerful shower (yes). We used the trails often for a run or bike tour. Nice little town for rest and peace. The tree was giving us a show and all the critters that live in there; salamanders, caterpillars and a couple of spiders, birds, heron, butterflyand more. Great for me becuse I was trying to mmake picture of small animals that posed for me and helped me get better in making good pictures. GREAT PLACE and perfect weather. Thanks again and maybe till next time. All the best, Lillian - Netherlands & Eric -Switzerland

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. It has so much character and charm. We had everything we needed throughout our stay and having rented many other places before, this cottage home was extraordinary! Chris' thoughtfulness in calling when we first got in was so nice! We celebrated many happy occasions here this week with family and friends: our 38th anniversary, a niece's baby announcement, and my birthday! The weather was perfect for riding the bikes on the trail and then relaxing on the deck afterwards. We hope to return and make more memories in the future! Thank you again, Sandee

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cypress. We have now completed the circle by staying in all three Dudley cottages - Cove, Lotus and Cypress. What a wonderful quiet spot. The weather was so nice this year so we really enjoyed the deck. Will be back to this area again next year. Dave & Ann

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. Loved finding all of the little things that make this place unique: the door hardware, the inside windows, the window seats...very peaceful. The weather was very hot (94 as I'm writing) but we enjoyed a water balloon fight and sitting on the deck. The road into Floral City is unbelievably beautiful. A very peaceful setting. Thank you! Colleen

February 2010 We thoroughly enjoyed our week at your lovely cottage. The weather was super the first half of the week so we biked the trail from one end to the other (4 days). It's one of the nicest trails we have found so far. The heavy rain and tornado warning toward the end was not the best, but it gave us a chance to see the Florida Carriage Museum in Weirsdale. Highly recommend it! It is by far the best we have found (and we have found a bunch). Hope your family continues to enjoy your gatherings. We read some of your diaries. Sorry we didn't get to meet any of you first hand.

February-March 2010 We enjoyed our stay at Cypress Cottage very much. We were warm even though we had some very cool evenings. Got to enjoy one warm afternoon sitting on the deck. We loved the charm of the big wooden doors. The fireplace, antiques, etc. It was great having everything here that we needed - internet, washer/dryer, laundry detergent, matches, wood, etc. We did not want for anything. It is obvious that this vacation home is loved and used by the owners. Thanks for letting us use it. We enjoyed the bike trail and area very much. Checked out the local caverns - pretty cool. Went sand digging and bumping across one of the Withalacoochee # trails. Thank goodness for four whel drive. Thanks for sharing this great spot with us.

Our February 2010 vacation was wonderful from day one. Walked in the door and felt right at home, very comfortable and cozy. Regardless of the weather we still had coffe on the deck (good job here, guys) and came inside to a nice toasty fire. We watched Ibis on the lake and deer drinking from the pond. It was a little foggy on this day but still got some great pics. We took the boat out on the lake. Caught some small bass but no keepers. I was hoping to beat Mark Nelson, Ha! Ha! We met some of our beighbors, real nice people, Sammy & Jennifer, Phil & Marlene. This place is close enough to anything you want to do. Tarpon Springs, The Villages, Ocala, all the small towns are good, too, but FLoral City won our hearts, Dunnellon, Crystal River, Homassassa, and Rainbow Springs. We took a canoe trip on the Withlacoochee. Started out at Trails End boat ramp and went to Shell Island about two miles. Had a picnic lunch there. The absolute peace and beauty of Floral City and the little cabin was exactly what we needed. The forests here are awe-inspiring! A definite must see. Please stop by the Bagel Shop downtown and have an ice cream. Meet Kenny and hear his story. He's a fine young man. Special thanks to the Dudley Family for allowing us to share a piece of your paradise. We wish you lots of luck in the future and may God Bless you.
