Villa Amanda is a rare example of ancient noble residence in Praiano. In fact, Bernardo Lama, the famous religious painter, lived and worked here for many years in the 1700's. Not by chance the villa is located close to the church of San Luca Evangelist which still conserves the splendid canvasses and frescoes which he executed. Still today, the house is considered a little refuge for artists looking for rest, inspiration and peace. The villa is located in the historical centre of Praiano and is immersed in an oasis of green and overlooks a panorama of rare beauty.
The interiors of Villa Amanda retain many decorative elements from the XVII century. The splendid frescoed ceilings, the vaulted arches and the profusion of refined plasterworks will marvel even the most exacting guest, who, surrounded by this charming atmosphere, will find it easy to enjoy the many modern comforts that the home offers.

This property is beautiful and centrally located in a quiet area and conveniently located for day trips even as far away as Naples, Pompeii, Capri and Paestum. The swimming pool is magnificent and a welcome cool off from all of the walking one tends to do while on the Amalfi coast. Expect to do a lot of stair climbing and descending to and from the Villa. This property is many steps away from restaurants, transportation, beach and grocery shopping. No matter where you went it was a hike. After 3 days in Praiano, we all felt we were getting buns of steel. This property is not recommended for anyone that is not in good health or has any disability. My 83 mother came with us. She goes to a gym regularly, but only left the villa 3 times during our week stay because of all the stair climbing involved. She really did enjoy the pool and the great views. There is a market, Tuti Tuti, that will deliver groceries direct to your door which was fantastic. We did have a car rental, but it really was unnecesary as the public transportation was efficient and trying to find parking for your car in tourist areas was annoying. Bus was much more convenient. The Villa itself was spotless with unsurpassed panoramic views of the sea. The old world charm and character has been maintained with modern conveniences provided. This property is real Italy. You actually feel like a local.
