"The Cabin in the Big Woods" is a vacation home with three bedrooms (one a loft) and two full bathrooms. It will accommodate 8-10 people. There are 2 queen size beds (1 a very comfortable trundle), 2 sets of bunk beds in the same room, and there are two roll-away twin beds (comfy!). There is also a kids loft area that 2 children could sleep in as well.
Two TV's available, 1 in the living room and one in the lofted bedroom upstairs.
The Arnold area is an easy 3 hour drive from the Bay Area on all-weather Highway 4. This area is great during all four-seasons, with both downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, swimming and more. To the west of Arnold are the towns of Murphy's and Angels Camp. They boast many wineries, antique and specialty shops, and a plethora of restaurants. Arnold is located right in the center of all the action!
Let's not forget about The Red Apple, a local bakery/produce shop operated by family members. Famous apple pies, donuts, cider, etc. are a must! A discount coupon will be included with your reservation. You can look for The Red Apple on Facebook!
Ironstone Vineyards offers a summer concert series. Bear Valley Ski Area is located about 30 minutes up plowed Highway 4. In the summer, the Ski Area hosts a full range of summer sports as well as the Bear Valley Music Festival. Calaveras Big Trees is a short 4 mile drive up Hwy. 4. Nature walks, hiking, picnicking, and educational resources are all available.
Enjoy cooking a meal in our fully stocked kitchen or on the gas BBQ on the deck.
Walk to shopping including grocery store, Wi-Fi cafes, and brewpub. Kline’s Fitness Club is a short walk from our cabin. Services available at Kline’s including cardio, basketball, tennis, racquetball, steam, sauna, an outdoor swimming pool, childcare, a hot tub and more for a small daily fee.
A public 9 hole golf course is available at Meadowmont Golf Course which is also a short walk.

We stayed here as a small family and had so much fun. This cabin is all that's described and MORE! The photos show some great features but the cabin is beautiful and clean, well stocked with everything one may need in a true "mountain home"! We had fun "camping out" with the kids in the living area upstairs watching videos. We also discovered how close this property is to White Pines Lake and the County Library. I would definitely recommend this property to friends, family, and even strangers. There are plenty of restaruants nearby and a grocery store withing a couple minute drive. Next time we'll go grocery shopping there or in Angel's Camp which isn't too far. Thank you for allowing us to use your Mountain Home. We all had a blast!

This is a great place! The kids loved the loft and the bunk bed room. There's a great deck on the back and a horseshoe pit with plenty of room for people to watch. There's even a very relaxing hammock.. Inside is really nice and just the right size. Just down the street from Snowshoe and shopping centers. Probably the best part of the entire package, though, are the owners and family. Very accommodating and just downright good people. We will definitely stay here again!!

I rented this cabin for a staff retreat and we loved it. There are quite a few beds and the loft is a very cool place to sleep for kids or adults who are young at heart. We especially enjoyed the large open floorplan so we could all be in the same room whether we were eating or relaxing on the sofas. It is also in a nice area to go for walks and enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely recomment it to others and we will probably be using it again.

My husband and I stayed at this cabin for our honeymoon. We've gone back several times and just love it there. What a wonderful place! It is spacious and comfortable, close in proximity to so many fun things to do. We especially enjoyed spending time in Murphys. We will definately stay there again!

I have stayed in this cabin many times in the past with my family. Very large and open plan with all the amenities. You feel like your on vacation but still have all the conveniences of home. Shopping is a short distance away for those items or food we all seem to forget. If you are into golf there is a nine hole course that is a few blocks away that is very challenging. All in All this is a very nice retreat to get away and enjoy the Sierra Mountains.
