Welcome to best view on the west side of beautiful Whidbey Island. My home is an equal distance between (a short drive) the quaint seaside towns of Coupeville and Langely. Both towns are unique in their own right. You will not find fast food or box stores here. You will find charming shops, art gallery’s, restaurants, wine shops, and coffee houses.
My home is located near the town of Freeland, high on a bluff overlooking Admiralty Inlet. It sits between Bush Point and Lagoon Point. Watch the cruise ships, tug boats, submarines, sail boats and freighters transverse Admiralty Inlet. Whales, porpoises, otters, heron, sea gulls, and various species of birds can be seen from the property. Wildlife abounds, it is not unusual to see eagles, hawks, whales, deer, quail, squirrels, chipmunks, and surprises such as a family of raccoons or a visit from the local peacocks. Within walking distance is South Whidbey Sate Park where hiking trails, picnicking and beach walking are available. If you prefer to bike, two are provided with the rental.
With approximately 2500 s.f. of floor space; there are two master suites, complete with private baths, plus an office, laundry and two car garage.
The entry faces north with views of The San Juan Islands, South Whidbey State park and the community of Lagoon Point.
The private backyard faces east and is bordered with trees and flowering shrubs. It is landscaped with an arbor and the guest suite has a private deck for viewing the sunrises or sipping coffee and enjoying the serenity.
The front yard faces west and boasts a 180 degree view with the Olympic Mountains on the west, Seattle to the south, and the San Juan Islands to the north. On a clear day one can see Vancouver Island BC.
The living room has vaulted ceiling’s with a ceiling fan, gas fireplace, 36” TV, surround sound DVD and stereo/CD player. Chinese binoculars and ample windows allows the spectacular view from inside while large decking on the outside is comfortable for that private dinner or bar-b-que cooked on the gas grill. The wood table with gas fire-pit or stand alone wood fire-pit adds ambience to the scene. Later hot tub under the stars.
The breakfast area is set with views from every window or breakfast at the bar.
The office is furnished with a built in desk, computer, printer, fax and Wi-Fi or bring your own laptop!
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal at home, full side by side refrigerator, microwave, gas cook top and oven, along with dishwasher and garbage disposal.
Enjoy dinner in the formal dining room with all you need to serve and elegant meal there. The table seats 8 comfortably if you are having guests in and are the lucky one to rent during the holidays.
The upper master suite boasts a gas fireplace, TV, DVD player, desk with Wi-Fi, sitting area and private bath with shower. Spectacular views from the king size bed.
The guest suite has a TV, radio, large bathroom with two sinks and shower. It has the deck overlooking the back yard and the sunrises can be seen from the king size bed.
The home includes a full size washer and dryer in the daylight unfinished basement. There is an attached double car garage and ample parking for a motor home or a boat.
Getting Around:
Coupeville is the center for Dr's and hospital, it is 12 miles north on 525. The grocery store and other necessities to make your stay comfortable is 5 miles to Freeland. There is free bus service which will take you anyplace on the island including the ferry; you can catch it on Smugglers Cove road as you turn on to Rhodie Lane. Oak Harbor has fast food, box stores, movie theater, more grocery stores and is the largest city on the island. It is 30 miles to the north on 525. Greenbank Farms is 5 miles with a wine and cheese store, a restauarant, hiking and history of wine making on the island. There are weekend festivities to be taken advantage of. In Bayview, about 15 minutes south on 525 there is a farmers market every Sat during the summer months. In August our County Fair takes place in Langley as well as a mystery weekend and Chuchokam.
Activities:
Whidbey Island has 2 public golf courses at the south end with 2 more at the north end. It is ten minutes to the best restaurant on the island and many more within short driving distances. Shopping, art galleries, hiking, spas, grocery stores, beauty saloons, anything you would need to make your stay comfortable is within 10 minutes driving distance from your perfect getaway. You are a ferry boat ride from getting into Seattle to sight see or drive off the north end and view Deception Pass on the way to Vancouver BC a 2 1/2 hour drive away.
Year-round:
Weather permitting, you can walk the beaches, golf, fish, hike, kayak or do just about anything you desire. But once you taste the serenity and the bit of heaven you have discovered at Bella Vista, you will not want to leave.

Why the Owner Chose Freeland
It is a short 20 minute ferry ride from Mukilteo. If you have never been on a ferry the experience is worth the ride. You can feed the sea gulls, enjoy the view of the mountains, islands and maybe even see whales. South Whidbey State Park is one mile from here where you can walk down to the beach via steps, or hike on Wilbert Trail. You are 10 minutes to the grocery store, restaurants or whatever your needs are in Freeland. Drive to the quaint town of Coupeville enjoy the shops, restaurants, stop at Eby landing and hike the trail up over the the top and then back down on the water side.
The Unique Benefits at this Home
I love this place, it is quiet and secluded, with privacy and a view to die for. I love to get up in the morning and have coffee on the back deck and watch the sun rise or just listen to the birds and bask in the beauty of the trees and plants that are shared from my neighbors spectacular yard. In the evenings; to sit on the front deck with a glass of wine and watch the boats, cruise ships and all the sea fairing activity go by, then later hot tub and enjoy the stars and moon overhead. There is no place like it. It is the most peaceful and serene place I have ever experienced.
