We just returned from 4 days in this home. We were a group of 6 adults, 2 teens, and 3 kids aged 9-10. We all had plenty of space in terms of bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and parking. There was also lots of indoor and outdoor room to relax without feeling crowded. The property was well maintained and accurately described and pictured on VRBO. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked most meals there. The location is very good - short walk to Main Street, and equally short drive to groceries, drugstore, and liquor store. We would return to this property if we vacationed in Lake Placid again.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

What you see is what you get. We rented the house for a family reunion in the early fall. Foliage is spectacular in September. The house easily accommodated 8 adults and 6 children. The kids loved being on the third floor with their own bathroom and TV room. Overall, it is a beautiful property, graciously and elegantly appointed. There is a grand piano and some gorgeous art.We enjoyed the view from every window and especially from the master suites balcony. The location is ideal for outdoors folks (fly fishing, skiing, boating, swimming) all within minutes and for those seeking some peace and quiet. (Wrap around porch perfect place to read and dream.) The house is two blocks to Mirror Lake, a fullservice spa, restaurants,local wine bars and coffee shops. The kids loved the cupcake bakery and equestrian events. The family gathered in the evenings to grill dinners on the porch and play pool. The dining room table opens up into a fullsized pool table. We watched DVDs and read books in the Adirondack room. We hope to get up again for a family Thanksgiving. The kitchen is cleverly designed to allow 6 cooks to work at once. Good value. Property nicely cared for. Owner went out of his way to make suggestions, particularly for the kids.

This is a great house for a group of people! There is plenty of room for people to sit inside or out, and the atmosphere is wonderful! The kitchen is fully stocked, and the location is perfect, just outside town, but a quick walk in to a restaurant and entertainment. Also this is a perfect house for triathletes in training.
