Whitetail Drive is one of the most unique custom homes that I have built in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It has been my personal home - a property that I have spent a great deal of time in with my family and a property that illustrates my signature style. I take great pride in the creativity and craftsmanship that went into this home, and I hope you find that my cabin only adds to the adventure and enjoyment of your travel experience.
The most notable features of my cabin are the exterior wishbone log structure, the interior log beams and up-lighting, and the uniquely designed curved walls and custom ironwork. The cabin also provides an incredible amount of off-road parking expansive enough for large trailers and recreational vehicles. These features set this cabin apart from others in the area, and can only be truly appreciated in person!
The location of my cabin makes it convenient for you to enjoy year-round activities. For those who want to see the sites, you are within one hour or less of several national and state parks/monuments and a wide variety of other tourist destinations. If you'd rather stay local, you can either enjoy the comforts of the cabin and its great views or simply head outside! You are right next to the Mickelson Trail in the warmer months and practically next door to Deer Mountain and Terry Peak for skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing in the winter season. Whatever your travel plans may be, I know that you will find this cabin to be interesting, convenient, and relaxing.

Originally from Desmet SD, I transplanted myself to the Black Hills in 2001. My work building custom homes has truly become my passion. I've spent the last 10 years building my business up in this area and have thoroughly enjoyed the projects and the people that I've worked with as the owner of Ron Waldner Signature Homes. I am lucky to love what I do as a builder, and I hope that my work continues to have a significant impact on my clients, the community, and my team of talented professionals in the design and construction business. When I have time for hobbies I can be found with either a motorcycle under me or wearing a welding helmet. I'd like to say that I have plenty of time for both, but the fact is...if I'm not working I'm usually spending time with family or friends. I have three boys and am already a proud Grandpa! I designed this home to be the ultimate romantic getaway, with tons of built in candles and other soft lighting features combined with custom showers built for two this is a great place to spend the night with your special someone. My home sits on a large lot in Deer Mountain subdivision, which is covered in pine trees and home to an abundance of wildlife. While there are neighbors close by, the cabin lends itself to the privacy and peacefulness of the hills.
