This Rocky Mountain ranch is completely surrounded by the Pike National Forest and is located within 20-30 minutes of Colorado Springs for city/tourist activities by scenic gravel mountain road once used by stage coaches to reach the Cripple Creek mining area. It's a few miles out of town, but it's a different world...
The cabin is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The deck railing is of aspen character wood. A one-third acre trout-stocked pond is just outside the cabin door with c/r fishing allowed. The Stables at the Broadmoor is on property for horseback riding with viewing of elk and bison on site. Old Stage Ranch cabin has been featured as one of "100 Most Beautiful Rustic Vacations." Our women's trip to Colorado truly wished for a spot to enjoy the beauty of this state. A stay at Old Stage Ranch was just the ticket for us. We will always hold the memories of our adventure to your lovely cabin in the woods. While having close access to Colorado Springs for the ladies to enjoy the shopping, site seeing, and wonderful restaurants, we felt very remote at this abode in the woods. The quiet serenity and the drive was most memorable. All the wildlife, hiking, and cooking kept us entertained. Those hummingbirds were AMAZING. Our hosts were available when we needed them and most helpful. THANKYOU for your company and for sharing this little piece of heaven with the rest of us city folk.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My family had a truly relaxing vacation staying at Old Stage Cabin. We enjoyed the brisk cool mornings sitting on the deck drinking coffee. My husband and our 2 girls loved fishing at the pond. We hiked and went horseback riding on the trails. The cabin was clean, had everything we needed and was the perfect size for our family. Mary Ann was very helpful in answering any questions we had. The views are beautiful, we took some unbelievable pictures! We made a lot of great family memories and the kids keep telling us they miss Hugo!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Just returned from a 7 day stay with our 9, 7 and 5 yr old. The cabin and view are more amazing than the pics show. We were beyond words when we drove up to this wonderful, real Colorado mountain vacation cabin. All 3 of our kids caught their first fish in the pond outside the front door- 14 in.trout! We hiked the horse trails around the cabin. Beautiful views! The cabin was very clean, everything we needed was there, including wifi and cable TV when we were exhausted. We all rode the horses through the mountains. The cabin owners also own the Broadmoore stable. The only thing we would change about this vacation is next time we will forgoe the tourist destinations in Colorado Springs and stay at the cabin and enjoy the view and Pikes national forest back yard all day, every day.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We have known this property for well over 30 years. My husband knew it from his first day in Colorado in 1957! Something so close to the city, yet in the midst of the mountains gives us such a thrill of time-warp: living a bit of yesterday with today's comforts. This is much more than a rental property for us. It is very much a part of who we are.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The Old Stage Ranch cabin allows you the freedom to be on your own in an extraordinary setting for as much of the time as you choose, and then drive off to the city and join that life with all it has to offer. One can hike, horseback ride or mountain bike in areas of breath-taking beauty where we seldom can take the time to be in our day-to-day lives.
More gregarious types will venture down to the stables and partake of the group or individual rides from there. It's a small ranch with many horses, bison and elk and a possible variety of animals such as miniature horses, donkeys, sheep and goats, guinea fowl, ducks, turkeys, and peacocks. Sometimes there are even young bison or elk. These little guys change from year to year and season to season.
