Villa Xanadu is located in the idyllic and picturesque mountain village Karmi/Karaman in the Kyrenia region of Northern Cyprus. This historic Cypriot villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large fully equipped kitchen. The sofa in the sitting room also folds out into a double bed. Ceiling fans in every room and 2 foot thick walls keep the villa cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The kitchen, living/dining area and large terrace are on the entry level and the bedrooms and baths are on the lower level. Each bedroom has French doors that open onto the lower terrace all with phenomenal views of the Mediterranean. The upper and lower levels are connected by a spiral staircase.
While the villa is comfortable and charming, the real draw is the large upper terrace with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. On a clear day, you can sit and look at the mountains of Turkey across a wide expanse of deep blue sea. The villa sits in a large garden with olive, almond and citrus trees and is set off the road for complete privacy and quiet.

We had a fantastic time. I'm not sure if we would have found the place easily in the dark but the man from Bird Rental Cars led the way for us which was great. Beautiful views from the deck. Everthing we needed. Lovely walk to the village. Debbie and Ken who look after the rental were fabulous at making suggestions for things that we should see.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Away from the hotels and resorts, the house is an excellent spot for respite and peace. The walk to the village center is a nice bit of exercise. Keep in mind it is a restored building (like all the ones in village), so do not expect sterile 5-star luxury, but rather a house and home with lived in charm. Communication leading up to our arrival was spot on, so all arrangements were in place, and the visit passed without a single problem. To get up and down the hill easily, and to navigate some sharp corners, you'll need (preferably) a small, nippy 4x4. If you have a chance, try diving with Nautilus (15 min up the main road to the west), and spend some time driving through the mountains to the east, visiting the Antiphonitis church on the way. If we have a chance, we will return!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We've had a lovely time in villa Xanadu. We've enjoyed the house and its surroundings, the terrace with its view was great for breakfasts and relaxing evenings. We've discovered many beaches and especially liked 'Lara beach', since it is clean, quiet and has a good restaurant. Our trip to Karpaz was long, but incredible: stunning scenery, wild donkeys and the most beautiful beach you can imagine: certainly worth the drive! Villa Xanadu breaths an authentic, warm and cosy atmosphere and especially the view makes staying there very relaxing and pleasant.
Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Our stay at Xanadu was wonderful! We had everything for a relaxing & fun vacation. Our arrival was made to be very special which got things off to a great start. Xanadu's location was breathtaking with its city, castle, sea views! The grounds were relaxing and private. All we really needed was there at Xanadu. Xanadu itself made our first visit to Northern Cyprus very authentic!
