Architecturally designed for a unique and beautiful property in the Catalina Foothills, this retreat is hidden in a small valley accessed from a red brick lane in a historic Tucson neighborhood.
Nestled into the hillside of a Saguaro cactus forest, it overlooks a tree-covered arroyo abundant with wildlife creating a feeling that "you're living on vacation every day". Two white stucco buildings are connected by a private circular courtyard with a fountain, beautiful decor, and banco seating for outdoor living and entertaining.
The house orients to an obstructed view of the Catalina Mountains. There are over-sized sliding glass doors melding indoors and outdoors for multiple living experiences both day and night. Rooms and spaces on three levels are connected by tiled steps evoking the feeling of being in a whitewashed Mexican village.
A path leads to a rustic Ramada at the bottom of the site, which was built in the Native American style with mesquite poles and Saguaro ribs. Sitting in this shade structure and viewing Gates Pass down the arroyo is like having a little piece of heaven all to yourself.
