Relax in this serene retreat with nature at your back door yet with the convenience of city living in the heart of Kirkland on the Eastside of Seattle. You’ll get to enjoy your own private space with a bath, bedroom, living area and kitchen in a cottage designed with your comfort and privacy in mind.
Our home away from home is newly furnished and decorated and has proven itself valuable for traveling business, academic & medical professionals, short-term/transitional Seattle stays, vacationers and single or double occupancy on a nightly/weekly basis while visiting friends and family.
If you’re traveling from Germany, let us assure you that you will enjoy your stay. We speak fluent German, and are more than happy to make this an experience you won’t forget.
Your accommodations include one bedroom with queen-size bed, full bathroom supplied with refreshing body and hair care goodies for use during your stay. You have your own kitchen and dining area complete with oven, refrigerator and cooking utensils. Relax on the deck with protected wetlands and a quaint lake as your scenery. Cable TV, wireless Internet and print/fax services are available as needed.
After many years living in Seattle, we continue to be awed by the beauty of this neighborhood, its proximity to nature, and its breathtaking sunsets. So, pour a glass of wine, come relax outdoors on the deck, and watch the sun slip behind the lake and trees as it illuminates the sky.

Forbes Lake Cottage offers short driving distances of less than 15 minutes to Lake Washington, downtown Bellevue, Microsoft campus, parks and river trails! Want to go shopping or eat out? We are 5 minutes away from I-405 and close to various shopping/restaurant options on the water.
PRICING:
Rates are $70 a night for stays of 1 day, and $55 a night for stays longer than 2 days. For extended stays please contact us for rates. Prices do not include applicable sales tax of 9.5%. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Cash or Money Orders. A $65.00 refundable cleaning deposit is required.

My wife Melissa and myself (Stefan) are excited about meeting new people and creating new friendships with travelers that will stay with us. We love hosting people and making sure they have a wonderful experience travelling.
Why the Owner Chose Kirkland
We are at the heart of Kirkland, just 5 to 15 minutes away from the Kirkland Waterfront, Seattle and much of the surrounding area. This location offers access to all kinds of shopping experiences, outdoor experiences, culinary experiences and so much more. With the rental bordering on protected land and a small lake, we have the convenience of quick access to surrounding areas with the private feel of being out in the countryside.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We often sit on our back deck and watch the sun rise or set over Lake Forbes. Being close to shopping, downtown Kirkland, Microsoft, Seattle, and various other places is convenient, but often you need to sacrifice privacy to have these. Our rental gives the best of both worlds. We even get to see the occasional deer, and often see a variety of birds and other wildlife on and in the lake in front of our property. It is serene, peaceful and practical all in one.

What a beautiful cabin. For my needs I needed a small space with proximity to parks to walk a dog. I didn't get to explore all the apparently fine parks I highlighted to explore within a few short miles scattered around Kirkland. The neighborhood itself is good for walks and felt safe. And there's a ton of shopping of all kinds within a few moments drive. The owner was having personal issues and still amazingly was proactively making sure everything was satisfactory. It's obvious this place is loved by many. Deservedly so.

I chose this property for my 'stay-cation' and romantic getaway due to it's location, price, and amenities. The kitchen is small, but completely workable. The location is close to shopping, and freeway access. I hope to be able to stay there again!

I stayed at the Lake Forbes Cottage in Kirkland. It was extreemly relaxing and a nice get away, the owner was great made sure any needs were met. The cottage was clean Neighborhood was nice took daily walks and explored the area. I will deffnitly be back the next time I need some "alone" time.

After our wedding, my wife and I decided to go to Seattle for our honeymoon. We found this cottage on vrbo.com and decided to try it out. This little cottage was perfect for our needs. We loved having our own kitchen and not needing to eat out for every meal. It was very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a simple place to stay. You will not be disappointed.
