Our 1925 Historic Craftsman Bungalow with its broadly pitched overhanging roof gables framed with blooming bougainvillea provides a unique vacation experience. Classic of the time period and style, the home has a simple, livable floor plan with distinctive character. Since we purchased the home in 2004 the kitchen and bath have been completely remodeled, taking care to maintain the style of the era in which the home was built.

The beautiful sculpted tile, checkered tiled flooring, glass doorknobs, an elegant claw foot slipper tub, built in cupboards, original wooden windows, together with GE stainless steel appliances, create a step into the past without giving up the conveniences and efficiency of a modern home.

Eighteen windows throughout the house provide natural lighting and if desired a wonderful way to let the Arizona sunshine warm your day. The large natural wood dining table sits six with comfort and allows plenty of space for a family style meal. The sunny breakfast nook is another fun space for morning coffee or visiting while meal preparations take place in the charming and functional kitchen. The front porch provides a wonderful place to enjoy evening wine and cheese or early morning coffee, year round. The deck and huge fenced backyard create a private retreat for a romantic dinner for two or a fun place for the family to end their day.

This bungalow offers much more than a unique and comfortable home away from home. Our completely restored historic home is in about the BEST location in the entire Valley of the Sun. The Central corridor is the hub for business, sports, the arts, markets, shopping, museums and countless excellent restaurants. Within a mile or two are the Phoenix Symphony, Herberger Theater, Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Children’s Museum and Heritage Square, US Airways Center and Chase Field, to only touch on a few. Only 10 to 15 minutes from the airport, close to the Valley Metro light rail and easy access onto I-10 and the 202, further allows you easy access to all 135 golf courses, hiking, biking, Phoenix Zoo, Botanical Garden, spring training venues, Sun Devil and Cardinal Stadiums and so much more.

Year Purchased: 2004

My husband is a lifetime resident of Phoenix. I spent most of my life next door in New Mexico. We love to travel and most often stay in homes similar to ours, in local neighborhoods. It is the best way to experience the culture of the area. The Southwest is our home and we are happy to provide an opportunity for you to enjoy some time here.

Why the Owner Chose Coronado

When my husband and I began our search for a new home in the Valley we wanted something just a little uncommon for the Phoenix Metro. We love historic homes, so we drove the historic neighborhoods on a regular basis watching the “For Sale” signs and kept an eye on the market. When we finally found our historic home, we did not even care what it would require to update it, we loved it. Well it did take a lot of work, but it was a fun project and we are very happy with how it turned out, charming and very comfortable. Whether you are returning to Phoenix or this is your first visit, we hope our home can be a part of your experience.

You can not beat the location. We love to walk to the neighborhood restaurants (some of the "Best of Phoenix") and often walk to the Valley Metro to ride to downtown Tempe and Tempe Town Lake.
