New hand-hewn log home on 10 quiet and scenic acres. Not a milled log home!! Large Master Suite with a private entrance & private bath. Second bedroom in loft also has its own bath. Large kitchen with island & great room with wood burning stove.
The Powder Room is off the kitchen. Furnished in a rustic style. Magnificent views of the Beartooth Mountains including two of the highest peaks in Montana. Three decks on all sides of the house and is quite private. The house overlooks the Stillwater River with river access out the back door to some of the best world class trout fishing. We have abundant wildlife all around the house. A herd of deer calls the front yard home.
The Beartooth Wilderness is just down the road where you can hike, kayak, rock climb, fish or horseback riding. Whitewater Rafting on the Stillwater or Yellowstone River. The Unique Benefits at this House
We have the most beautiful views of the Beartooth Mountains from any room in the house. The seclusion, privacy and quiet just adds to the ambience of our home. We also have the Stillwater River out our back door which has great fishing for the fly-fisherman or just plain fishin'. We have so many deer, I call them by name. The people of the area are the best. Everyone is your friend. And you can meet anyone from wealthy ranchers to just plain folk. The Nye Trading Post is the best. Bill and Judy know everybody. We also have some good restaurants in the area. Absarokee is a great small town with antique shops, and the Rosebud restaurant

Hi we are Mike, Debbie and Dave Buckley. We live in Chicago but I fell in love with Montana when I was just a youngster. The first time we went out as a family, Mike and Dave fell in love also so we bought 10 acres of land with hopes of building our vacation/retirement home. Well we waited till Dave was done with Grad school and started building in 2005. My husband Mike is an electrician, so he did all the electric and with the help of some really talented guys who found our logs in Missoula and put them together from the design that my husband drew on a cocktail napkin! We've put a lot of blood, sweat and (tears, mine)into the house but it came out as beautiful as I hoped. We love to hike and our son loves going back country hiking and fly fishing. Not to mention, we have some of the best fishing right outside. The deer are plentiful and we occasionally see a bear or two walking along the River. We also have bald eagles and elk. The Big horn sheep are right down the road in the Fall and Winter. To us, it is truly "The Last Best Place".
