After having rented multiple times in the Sugarbush area, I have to say that I never expected something so disappointing as staying in this place. Please read all my comments they only get progressively worse. I saved the best for last, for entertainment value. First of all, the place is dirty. If you put your hand underneath a pillow on the sofa, all you feel are nasty crumbs from previous guests. And the sofas are so dusty when you sit in them it's like someone threw powder in the air. And, I can't fail to mention the dried Chex cereal stuck to the side of sink upon arrival and dozens, no kidding, of glass rim stains on the kitchen counter top. Second, lighting? This place is dark to begin with, but it does not help that about 4 light bulbs were out in the house. Third, got kids? Need DVD player? Does not work. Fourth one of my favorites, winter flies? Yes, you heard it hear. There were no less than 100 live flies buzzing around the two windows facing the sunshine. I spend the first two days trying to kill these things with a paper towel. Only find out they live up in the attic space and keep buzzing all night long. Fifth, and this is the prize, taking a shower on the first night after dealing with all of the above, in water that smells like rotten eggs....Yes, rotten eggs. Apparently, if you don't maintain your water filter, your guests bathe in (and drink, if they did not smell it first) sulfur water. Terrific. I felt like I was National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when my six-year old said, "Daddy, I am in the shower, help me quick, it smells like poop in here." So 3 days into the vacation, I told the homeowner it was not working out and he offered to refund me what I thought was the balance of my stay plus some for the major inconvenience. Well, suffice to say, he's the one who felt inconvenienced, kept the security deposit and did not issue a full refund. Apparently, he thinks his place is pretty nice.Did you find this review helpful? This house fit our needs perfectly! As we pulled in, a snow storm was just ending and the view from the house was beautiful. We were a group of eight and there was plenty of room for everyone. The open kitchen was wonderful, as we cooked meals at home each night and it was easy to prepare the food while not missing a thing. The house is only a few minutes from Sugarbush and the town making it really convenient. Our weekend was truly a winter wonderland and we all now have very fond memories. Can't wait to return again next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
