The rental for our suite is a great value. Our suite is located in La Vista Resort, a small, quaint resort nestled at the bottom of lush green mountains in Pelican Keys Estates area on the Dutch side of Saint Maarten. You will find tasteful Antillean charm and European flavor with a spectacular panoramic view of the crystal blue Caribbean Sea for a great tropical living feeling.
This resort unit offers a one bedroom penthouse suite with king sized bed, bath with shower on first level, up a spiral staircase to second level with living room with pull out sofa, dining area, kitchenette and bath w/shower.
Resort amenities include swimming pool overlooking the ocean, tiki bar and restaurant with live entertainment twice weekly. The beach is a short five minute walk, Car rentals, restaurants, casino and grocery shopping are within walking distance. Sailing, deep-sea fishing, snorkel or scuba trip and other boating activities close by.
Saint Maarten is the culinary capital of the Caribbean offering many multi-national restaurants. If you enjoy nightlife, you can find that as well. A short walk to the bus to go to the "shoppers paradise" for high quality duty free shopping in the capital of Philipsburg brings many wonderful shopping experiences. Marigot on the Island's French side is accessible by a 20-minute ferryboat ride just a short walk from La Vista Resort.

Year Purchased: 2008
My husband I purchased 5 consecutive weeks in La Vista resort in 2008 as a get-a-way place for us in the winters when we retire in the next two years. In the meantime, we offer our timeshares to those who would like to experience a unique experience in Saint Maarten. We have a home in the mountains that we are slowly filling with our favorite pieces from our home that we would like to sell in the next couple of years. We spend most weekends in the mountains and plan to escape the retirement winters by traveling to Saint Maarten. One of our daughters and family live in France and can fly there direct from Paris. La Vista give us another delightful place to gather.
Why the Owner Chose Pelican Key
We visited Saint Maarten for the third time in 2008 and decided it was the right time for us to purchase the timeshares. We own 5 weeks, three in November and 2 weeks in December. The weeks are consecutive and we are using the middle week at Thanksgiving. Currently we are both working and planning for retirement. The island is diverse with the French and Dutch influences. We find the Island to be delightful, offering many opportunities to enjoy the people of the Caribbean. We are certain that your will enjoy the many cultural experience Saint Maarten has to offer. You can choose to relax or be as busy as you would like.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo-Resort Property
The restaurant overlooking the pool and ocean are a wonderful way to enjoy the day hours. The tiki bar offers entertainment with a great water view. You can take a short walk to the beach finding snack bars for easy access to drinks and meals. The Island is lush and green and flowers are in abundance. La Vista is just a short taxi ride from Princess Juliana International Airport We enjoyed going by bus (short ride) into Philipsburg for duty-free shopping, restaurants and casino if you enjoy that. We love going on the short ferry ride to Margot, the French side of the Island. Again there is great shopping and fine French food.
