We had 4 couples stay the weekend and we enjoyed the house immensely. Some of the couples would have liked a tv in the bedroom. There are only 2 in the house, one in master bedroom and other in downstairs living room. We will definitely consider this house if we were to stay in Galena again for our gathering. Nice location as there are no close neighbors and it is close to HWY 20 so a trip into town is easy. Very spacious and clean. Thanks for the memories!

I thought the house was gorgeous! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Only a few miles from downtown and easily accessible. We had a blast! The rooms are spacious. It was so nice to have a hot tub to get into at night. I would recommend this location to anyone staying in Galena especially with a group. I don't think you can beat the price as I shopped around a lot before committing. Its a one of a kind home. Thanks for the great memories :)

We rented this house to get together with friends that live across the state of IA over St. Patrick's Day weekend. We had 4 families (8 adults) with 5 young children that stayed comfortably in the house. The house was easy to find within the subdivision and easy to get into with the keypad entry. Each family had their own full bathroom which was very nice. All of the beds are incredibly comfortable! The hot tub was great in the evenings. The only thing we would suggest: -More seating in the large downstairs family room to (such as a large sectional couch) to make tv/movie watching more comfortable (couch & recliners in the downstairs seem to be getting worn and out-of-date) -Instructions on dishwasher as it was not clear where to put in dishwasher soap -Change description as this house has 4 bathrooms, not 5 (at least by our count!) This was a great way for all of us friends to meet and enjoy a weekend together. We do recommend bringing a baby gate to block off the stairs if you have young children. The large kitchen made preparing snacks and meals very easy.
Owner response:Thank you for your review of our vacation rental home. We take every review into careful consideration to allow us to improve our vacation property. To ensure that your review is helpful to our future guests, we would like to clarify your comment regarding the number of bathrooms in our rental home. There are indeed 5 full bathrooms for guest use. Each bedroom had its own full bath with either a walk in shower or a tub/shower combo, creating a suite like feel to each of our bedrooms. The master bath has both a soaker tub and a walk-in Roman styled shower. Of the 5 bathrooms, 2 are Jack & Jill styled, meaning they have an entrance from the bedroom as well as the hallway. Additional seating is being added to the lower level family room to comfortably seat more guests. We do not provide any baby gates for guest use, but certainly encourage that our guests bring one along if younger children will be staying at the home.

A group of 10 of us stayed at this beautiful property over Halloween weekend, as Galena has a fantastic small-town Halloween parade. As it turned out, no one wanted to leave the gorgeous and relaxing house!! From lounging in the cozy lower level, to all gathering around the dining table for dinners, we felt so at home and relaxed, and everyone had their own space to unwind. We actually didn't end up in the hot tub, but we did bring the patio chairs down to the lawn to enjoy a glass of wine and a crisp Halloween sunset. No one wanted to leave on Sunday morning, and we all agreed we could've stayed for a week! The full kitchen has everything you could need, and the many bedrooms and bathrooms allow plenty of privacy for a large group. Thank you again for a wonderful experience, the home was in immaculate condition!

I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at this home. I have been coming to Galena for over 10 years and this is the nicest house we have ever rented. We hope to come back next year for a week and rent the same house. We thought the home was delightful, well-situated, and the openness of the kitchen, dining and living areas was absolutely perfect! The master bath and large laundry room were awesome.

This home is simply lovely! The pictures and description of the house do it justice. This is the second year we have stayed in this home and plan to return to it in the coming years. The location is perfect for our group as we like to golf (very convenient to HWY 20 and The General) as well as visit the wineries in the area. Galena Cellars Vineyard is a favorite stop of ours, as is the Apple Canyon Lake Golf Club. And of course, The General is in our back yard! We cooked in every night and the large kitchen is a delight. The laundry facility is especially convenient for our group of 7 women.

This is an absolutely beautiful home. It is extremely clean and well-maintained. It is perfect for a family or friends getaway. The kitchen is fantastic and so top-of-the-line that we decided to cook in rather than go out. I would highly recommend it. The owners were extremely helpful and great to work with.

My husband and I brought our three kids and their spouses and our five grandbabies to this home for a lovely family retreat. It was a perfect setting! We have been coming to Galena for years, but this was our first time in this home. The floor plan was most accommodating, giving us two large gathering areas. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and were able to seat everyone for meals. The bathrooms, bedrooms and laundry room were just right. The master bathroom was luxurious--we loved the spa shower and bathed the babies together in the whirlpool tub! The location for the home was most convenient to Highway 20, but gave us great seclusion and privacy. It was a quick trip to golf, the spa, and the winery as well as going into town. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We will be back again next year!

This house was great. My party was made up of seven women and we had ample room. The kitchen is great and well equipped. We spent most of our time in the screened in porch starting with coffee in the morning, cocktails at happy hour and night caps before bed! Also had a great dining table that easily accommodated us all.

Our Dinner Club, a group of women who meet monthly and host dinners for each other, chose this Galena home for our annual get-away, and we could not have been more pleased. As you might imagine of a group of food-focused women, the reaction to the gourmet kitchen was great - everyone wanted to take a turn at cooking! We also greatly enjoyed the lovely view, the fireplaces upstairs and down, and the screened porch and hot tub. And, for a group of 7 women, having 5 full bathrooms was a big hit! We all want to come back again and stay longer, and we all agreed that we want to rent this same house.

Our group of 8 had a wonderful time in Galena and the house was very nice. It was tastefully decorated and looked like new. The large kitchen and open dining area made for great morning time as we planned our days. The screened in room was a cozy place for storm watching or an early cup of coffee. If you are lucky enough to be assigned to the master bedroom as I was, you are in for a treat. Some of the other bedrooms are quite sparse, with little counter space on which to place things and bathrooms with nothing but a pedestal sink for make-up bags and hair products, but we managed. It was a bit from town but a pretty drive and we did like the solitude so that we weren't concerned with staying up late and disturbing others. Not all of the windows have coverings, which made some of the girls uneasy, though there was noone in view until 2 men came riding by one morning on their lawn mowers. Some warning should be given or a privacy option made available. Whatever you plan to do, the trolley tour is a great place to start. You get a nice overview of what is available for further investigation. But for a bunch of girls looking for an interesting and beautiful area, this place is perfect. And in a half hour you can be in Wisconsin or Iowa!
Owner response:Thank you for your comments in your review, they greatly help us to improve our rental home. Since your stay, we have added privacy sheers to the sidelight windows in the master bedroom and lower level queen bedroom. All bedroom windows are now covered with either cellular shades, drapes or sheers. Thank you again for staying at our vacation rental home, we look forward to your return visit.

From the moment we opened the front door to this home, we knew that we had made the right decision in choosing this property for our weekend getaway! This house is fabulous. It is set up perfectly for large groups to mingle. We gathered at the large table in the great room or on the screened in porch eating cheese and drinking wine from our afternoon shopping spree in downtown Galena. We laughed the night away with no worries about waking the neighbors as this property is located on a quiet street away from other homes. The property is so clean and tastefully decorated. There is no clutter, just the most comfortable couches, chairs and beds you can imagine! Before we left, we were all checking our calendars for a date when we could return and we plan to return OFTEN!

A beautiful home, pictures do not do it justice. For those who love to cook while socializing, it is heaven. Plenty of space with lots of conveniences. We did not leave the property other than to take walks, which were beautiful. We packed our recycling to bring home, found out when we left you can recycle on the Territory grounds. Defintely hope we can go back.

This home was a wonderful retreat for our 12 family members during spring break. The house was very open and bright and clean, and everyone had plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. We had six children with us, and they could play in the large downstairs family room while the adults were on the main floor in the great room. The house was on a quiet street, and we enjoyed being able to get some exercise walking around the golf course. Also, the house was conveniently located close to Galena, where we enjoyed the quaint shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone planning a vacation to Galena.

March of 2011. We spent 3 incredible nights in your fabulous home to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It accomodated our family of 12 perfectly! I cannot say enough about this house. The quality, furnishings, design and layout were outstanding. So large yet so cozy. I could not have hand picked a better house for us to stay in! My only complaint is that we can't live there full time! My parents went on and on....my dad keeps asking when we're taking them there again :-) Thank you for sharing your home with us!

I recently rented this house for my wife's 40th birthday. We invited 3 other couples to join us. Everyone was blown away by this house. The kitchen is gorgeous, the master bath is like a spa and the downstairs is perfect for relaxing and watching tv. Despite the temperature being below freezing, we spent some time enjoying the wonderful view from the hot tub. There is so much room in this house that we never felt cramped or crowded. A huge plus is that each bedroom has its own private bath, so everyone can get ready and nobody has to rush. It really was a perfect house to relax and catch up with some old friends.

The home was absolutely beautiful and so easy to find - right off of the main road. It was perfect for our girls' weekend, especially with each bedroom having it's own full bathroom. The open floor plan was great for hanging out and chatting, too. The beds were super comfortable! We had a little trouble getting hot water in the master bath shower, but other than that, everything was perfect. We will be back next year!

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary on 10/10/10 and this property worked out perfect. Some of our children joined us for the weekend and there was room to expand when some just came for a day. The listing description is accurate but the home is even better in person. It felt like home away from home. The kitchen was terrific. Plenty of counter and cabinet space. The laundry room was wonderful for storage. You couldn't ask for a better view of the stars than from the hot tub. Each bedroom had its own special touch. It was fun just exploring the house. Everything was very clean and modern. I have already recommended the house to friends planning a family reunion. It is suitable for any age. The family enjoyed the Alpine Slide at Chestnut Mountain. For our anniversary we had brunch at Timmerman's in East Dubuque. This is a favorite restuarant of ours for many years. Wished we had time for horseback riding, but the days were filled and most of us just wanted to enjoy the amenities of the house. It is in such a pretty area. The views were great. Would definitely plan on returning.

Our family spent a fall weekend at this wonderful home. We were celebrating my mom and dad's 60th birthday and the house was perfect for the 10 of us. The house was clean and spacious and very well mantained. We loved the large kitchen and open floor plan. The bedrooms were large and each have the their own private bathroom which is a huge plus. The hot tub was a great extra. The house is ideally located, easy to find, and only a short drive from downtown Galena. All in all, it was a fabulous weekend in a fabulous home!

WOW! Is this house fantastic, and this review can't express how happy we were with our vacation. We so enjoyed renting from you, everything was perfect. The five bedrooms each with thier own bathroom was like renting a house with 5 mini suites. And the beds, WOW, everyone kept saying what a good night's sleep they had on very comfortable beds. The comfort factor is top notch. The layout of the home is perfect for entertaining and gathering with our family. The house is open and breezy and the views are absolutely breathtaking (the hot air balloons floating over the house took the cake.) There are two big gathering areas, one on each level. Our group was able to take advantage of the space and really enjoy themselves. The kitchen couldn't be bigger and is right next to the dining area that has plenty of seating. This house is also very secluded and private and we were able to enjoy the luxurious hot tub until 2am!!!! This house also comes fully loaded - the owner's have thought of everything - coffee (decafe and regular), games, movies, cd's, BBQ grill - even towels for the hot tub and pool! The kitchen is fully stocked, the fridge is huge and there is plenty of space to spread out. Also wonderful to enjoy the night on the screened in porch that even has a ceiling fan. Oh my! Plenty of amenities, the club house pool was great for the kids and the nearby golfing was first class. Also the location to town is great, just a beat from the main road into the town of Galena. We will be sure to come back next year. Your beautiful home made us all feel like movie stars.

We went to Galena with 6 adults and 3 small children. It was a wonderful house for our needs. It was large enough so that all 3 families could have a space of their own. The 2 family rooms on different levels let us always play in an area where there were no sleeping babies. The club pool was perfect for the children. The men loved the golf opportunities. I would definitely go back again.

We traveled to Galena to meet up with college friends. There were 9 of us that stayed in the house and we had an amazing time. The location was so convenient to find and close by to activities (horseback riding, golf, hiking, the Galena territories center) and to town. The large kitchen was well stocked in appliances, cookware, and utensils. Each room had a bathroom attached and fit everyone's needs. When it rained there was more than enough space for people to relax indoors, play board games, and watch movies...not to mention the upper level screened in porch and hot tub. All-in-all an amazing stay and an excellent house. I'm not sure why a group would even consider staying in a hotel when options like this are available.

A great place to go as couples or as guys or gals get-away. The kitchen was a joy to work in. We grilled our first night and went out to eat our second night. The beds were so incredibly comfortable and the house was large enough for different areas of socializing. We had six people, but the house could easily accommodate ten. We were able to walk to Spikes for dinner.

I rented this home for my Mom and 11 of our favorite girlfriends to have a Girls getaway weekend and it was the perfect spot! The house is absolutely beautiful and with it being the only house on the lane it was very secluded so we didn't have to worry about our late night laughing fits disturbing the neighbors. The one thing that everyone agreed on was the beds were the most comfortable any of us had ever slept on! Even those of us that are usually up at 4 & 5 in the morning slept in until 7 or 8!! Once I got out of bed I just wanted to live in the spa shower until the hot water ran out. My niece and her friends spent most of their weekend int the hot tub, thank God it was big enough for all of us to share! ;< ) Lots of shopping and beautiful landscapes close by and lots of different things to do for everyone. The only problem we had was that we couldn't get the DVD player or the CD player to work but I am thinking a quick run through with a disk cleaner would have done the trick on both but we didn't have one with us. All in all a wonderful trip and a great place to stay, we are already planning next year’s trip and hope to stay at this home again. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A COMFY PLACE TO SPEND THEIR VACATION OR WEEKEND GET AWAY!!!

Ten of us stayed and had the most wonderful time! Your home had EVERYTHING we could ask for. The kitchen/dining room became the family gathering place.......(when we weren't utilizing the HOT TUB) :) And the beds were so COMFY!!!! lol Thank you again, it was a nice weekend with our children in your home!
