  We were thrilled with the accommodation. It was everything it was indicated to be and more. The owner was amazing in answering any question very quickly. The house is so close to the ocean...saw whales, lots of surfers and a few cruise ships come in. The location is awesome....... close to everything but far enough away from all the commercial activity to make it a very peaceful and quiet place to be. We have already recommended this place to many people we know. The pictures don't even do this house justice. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

  This property was rented to serve as a "home base" while caring for a relative in the hospital. It was clean, well maintained and the owner just fantastic about last minute requests. The view of the Ocean from the deck and sounds of the waves are here to sooth the sole. Enjoy, you will not be disappointed.

  We had a great time here! We love the ocean view from our bedroom window. We really loved the fact that This vacation home is only a couple of blocks from our church, Iglesia Ni Cristo. It is also close to a majority of tours and activities.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  I think we've been to Maui perhaps six times over the past 10 years and this was our first time in a VRBO home and not on the resort side of the island. We stayed for two weeks, it was me and my college age daughters. Location wise it worked well for all of us because it was perhaps 6 or 7 minutes to kitebeach, the mall, two theatres, the grocery, gas, fast food, everything. The Saturday market was within walking distance at the Maui cultural center and we caught a Ziggy Marley concert there as well just by luck having seen the sign driving by. What a difference in terms of enjoying the vacation. Don't get me wrong, the pools of the resorts are great, but it was such a nice change for us to cook on vacation rather than eat out all the time. The location made it feel much more like a home away from home. The home is in the middle of what I would call a 'local neighborhood' so that is a different feel and when they say it is on the water, it is literally a few feet to the rock wall where the water breaks against the rocks. It is not a sandy beach, but there is an area above the garage which was great to drying gear, sitting to watch the turtles and boats come and go, and the locals only are out in the waves nearly every morning to watch. I'll definitely stay hear again. We BBQ'd perhaps half the time we were there. WiFi was great. TV had all the same channels we get stateside. Kitchen is almost over-equipped with what you need. Bathrooms are clean. Washer and dryer are there and work well. We will definitely come back here, and soon I hope. Only things to be aware of that weren't immediately known. The parking is private and at the house, if you have more than one car for some reason, it will work, but just be aware that you might be behind one another. The windows on the wind-ward side of the house do not open for logical reasons because you do get the wind being right on the water. So the windows I needed to hose off once or twice because the salt builds up and blocks a little of the view. I sort of expected to be able to sit with open windows and have coffee inside, but this was better on the deck anyways. By the way, full view of the volcano when the clouds aren't all in. There was a renter in the garage, very nice young man who we only saw once and he was extremely respectful, so no worries there either. Like I said, we can't wait to go back, the resorts are only 20 minutes drive if you really need the leeward side of the island.

  This was our first time in Hawaii and I would go back in a heartbeat the house had an amazing view of the ocean! The sundeck was a great place to get some sun and watch the locals surf waves well over 10 feet high! The house was very nice inside and was also very clean! The bed in the master bedroom was very very comfortable also. The house is very reasonably priced for everything you get, not having to stay in a condominium complex with hundreds of other people and less expensive too how can you go wrong!!! They only thing that might be a problem for some people is that there is no beach in front of the house, it has a rocky shoreline like most of Maui we knew about it before we booked it and was no problem for us! Far exceeded are expectations and highly recommend it!

  Excellent "base of operations", expecially for the over 55 crowd. Not a swimming beach, but great views. Property was in good shape, fully furnished, and as described on VRBO. Not the fanciest area of town, but an excellent location for exploring the entire island. The price was fair, especially when compared to the many expensive resorts on the island. A rental car is a must. Would recommend to friends. Restaurants in the immediate area are few, but the drive to many great ones is short.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

  We returned from Maui last week and had a very nice holiday. The home was just as described, very clean and ready for us to enjoy. We had all kinds of weather at the house, sunny days, breezy, windy, rain, winter swells that made the waves incredible and exciting, and beautiful sunrises. The house is literally 5 steps from the water, the sound of the waves is constant and soothing. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends and relatives. We walked along the beach every day, found interesting shells and coral, my husband was successful at fishing, a lobster came to shore, the surfing was fun to watch. Definitely not a sunbathing beach but the large lanai was perfect for catching some sun.
