Very nice place.Had everything we needed plus.Beautiful views esp. from the loft. Loved waking up to the beautiful scenery.Met a curious raccoon and a squirrel that knocked on the door but no bears. We found it much quicker to go right out of Dogwood and then take Pine Mtn. Road to middle of strip in Pigeon Forge.(5 Mi. total). We enjoyed our stay and would reccommend this cabin.

This is a cabin that is very roomy, clean and had nice views of the valley and the strip in the background, not the Smoky Mountains National Park. We had a raccoon family visiting our trash every night which was fun for the kids, not so fun for me cleaning up every morning. I love to cook, and these racoons figured they could get a free meal. It was quiet, there are neighboring cabins, but they are vacant and for sale, with trees to block any clear view of neighbors. Easy access to Dollywood, the national park, shopping, etc., nice and quiet. Plenty of outdoor seating, I liked that alot! It was an excellant cabin for the price.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Eight girl cousins gathered at the Runaway last weekend and had a fabulous time! There was a peaceful atmosphere and the accommodations and view were wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were all nice and comfy! And the laundry area wasn’t some little closet stuck in a hallway…it was a big room with plenty of space! It was very nice to have internet access and big television screens to watch our favorite channels and our DVDs. One thing I personally appreciated was the layout of the place. Most of us wanted to stay up late and others weren’t such ‘night owls’ - but it wasn’t a problem for anybody! Because of the location of some of the rooms, it worked out just fine for everyone. We girls try to get together every spring and are already planning to book our special weekend at the Runaway for 2011! Thanks for helping us make good memories in a lovely place!

We took our youth group to this cabin, and they were all blown away. Spectacular view, plenty of space, the wi-fi was a great addition. Great balance in distance - far enough removed to feel secluded, but still can be in Pigeon Forge in a few minutes. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at the Runaway several times. I have been with my husband, family, friends and a work retreat! It doesn't matter if it's just two or fifteen, it's the greatest place you could go to "runaway"....for any reason! Cooking in the kitchen, watching a movie, playing pool or just sitting in the hot tub or on the porch in a rocker - take your pick! Thank you for the wonderful times and memories made at your cabin. (I have some spectacular pictures of the views at sunset, sunrise and the fog settling in the valley from the front porch.)

Runaway cabin is a great place for family or just a get-a-way. Very peaceful and lots of room. We went for a good family time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great for family or group get-a-way but as comfortable as being at home. Very cozy and relaxing at night time outside on deck as well as in the hot tub. Highly recommend!

We first rented this cabin for a corporate retreat and had a great experience. Later I returned for a "girls weekend," complete with in-cabin massages and had a great time! Then I brought my family for a family weekend and now they always check Runaway first when coming to the Townsend/Pigeon Forge area. We LOVE this cabin, especially for the price!

We had a family get together at this cabin. The view is breathtaking. The cabin is decorated in mountain decor and is absolutely lovely. The gas grill and the gas fireplace were wonderful. Hot tub is a plus too! The kitchen had everything we needed. We highly recommend this cabin and can not wait to go back.

We had a great time with our family. The cabin was great, with plenty of room for everyone, lots of towels, and the kitchen was well stocked. My elderly parents loved the view. We look forward to staying here again.
