Best place on Maui! The condo is beautiful, clean, spacious and up to date and can comfortably accommodate a family or several couples. What is also great is that the master bedroom is on the oceanside with a view of the water. It is so soothing to hear the surf at night. This is plus since many of the other condos where I have stayed, the bedrooms are at the back of the unit and you don't get the benefit of falling to sleep with the sounds of the surf. There are great views of the harbor and ocean with wonderful whale watching right from the lanai. The remodeled kitchen is wonderful with lots of amenities. I love the access to an uncrowded beach with miles of beach walking and swimming. The harbor is very close and convenient for snorkeling, whale watching and deep sea fishing trips. It is also a great central location to get to many places on the island within 15 - 30 minutes (such as Kihei, Wailea and Lahaina). The building is secure with lots of amenities and travel to and from the airport is so easy and convenient especially if you want to do any inter-island travel. My husband and I have vacationed many times in Hawaii and this is our favorite spot!

This condo is in very good condition and in very good location. The photos are not doing the justice - particularly when it comes to the view. The view is gorgeous and very peaceful. Pretty much every morning and every evening I would just sit on lanai and absorb the sounds and sight of the ocean/sky/stars/sun/boats. Our party had 2 adults and 3 small children, and everyone was comfortable. Having two bathrooms definitively helped expediting morning and evening cleanups. We didn’t cook much but kitchen is definitively equipped with all the basics and more. It took me a day or two to figure out all the lights and switches but all are labeled - I was just lazy to pay attention. Unit has really neat setup for mini office – with wifi and printer; this is a plus for longer stays or if like me you have not really did much activity pre-planing and have to hit the web to search for activity recommendations/reviews/bookings. Not sure what's called but beach downstairs was nice, and probably one of the favorites for my kids because of proximity, lack of rocks and waves. I am more of a waves and snorkel type - but have to go with the crowd :). We did quite a bit of beach hopping and discovered few other nicely-sheltered-small-kid-friendly beaches , that are also good for some snorkeling. Location is awesome - short walk to the Aquarium (for which we got week pass), harbor (whale/dolphin watching, snorkeling / diving / dinner cruises) and shops. There are at least 2 delis within short walking distance (one in the shopping center and one in the building next door) for quick and cheap food, as well as several restaurants offering variety of dining experiences. Besides walking, once you get in to the car, it is very easy to access most of the other Maui areas; most are within 20-30 min drive; with exception of Hana of course ( trip to Hana is an adventure in itself – and should probably be given at least ½ day or even full day for proper experience) I would definitively recommend staying here. Oh no, I should really keep my mouth shut and let it remain secret, thus giving me better opportunities for future bookings. Aloha and Mahalo.

We stayed in Joel's unit at the Maalaea Yacht Marina Condos in early November and here's what we experienced... The condo was fantastic; clean, bright, tasteful deco with a stunning view of the harbour and across to Kihei. The view is priceless. The open design worked well, and with two bedrooms it was perfect for our small family. It was equip with all the amenities you would need for staying in the condo, or going to the beach (beach towels and chairs, pail and shovel, and swimming noodles etc). There is even a great little laundry facility within a few steps of the condo, and only shared by a few units. The property manager and condo owners obviously take great pride in the building, the common areas, the pool, laundry facilities are very clean, and quiet. The people are the friendliest (and relaxed!) you'll find. We frequented the little sandy beach out front of the condo every day for a refreshing dip. It was perfect for our daughter, as it was sheltered by the breakwater there was no surf making for safe play area. We even saw a few interesting fish while snorkelling along the breakwater! Service Joel's service is A+. In preparations for the trip he was responsive, friendly and fulsome in his responses; providing us with great information about the unit and this area of Maui. When we arrived, the unit was cleaned to a tee. The unit was as presented, and Joel ensured we had access to communicate him, a friend in the building and the property manager during our stay. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely recommend this unit to others heading to Maui.

We stayed at this condo in October 2010. We arrived after sunset, so our first daylight view was from the lanai watching the sun rise over Haleakala, waves crashing below and boats leaving the marina. A perfect way to start the trip! The condo was great – very clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed: great furniture, everything you could need in the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths with linens, a computer desk, chair and printer we used with our laptop. The printer was nice for printing out menus or directions. The king size bed in the huge master bedroom was soooo comfortable and the walk-in shower in the master bath had plenty of room. The lanai has a round table and 4 cushioned chairs, where we at breakfast almost every morning. Lots of outdoor supplies - beach towels, beach chairs & mats, water “noodles”, boogie boards and a beach umbrella! Lots of other things too – iron and ironing board, hair dryers, we even noticed a fold-up playpen for babies in the closet! The laundry room was almost right across the hall. The building was very secure and in a quiet neighborhood. It was like a second home. We had heard that Maalaea can be very windy, but our whole time there, the wind helped cool off the condo without needing to turn on the A/C, and never too strong that we had to close windows or hide inside. At the pool, the wind is blocked by the building, so it was a pleasure sitting out there. The one huge benefit that we didn’t realize until later was the location on the island itself. Getting from one place to another on Maui isn’t always straight-forward – some roads don’t continue “to the other side”, so you have to travel through the central area to go most places, which is exactly where this condo is located! It’s only 15 minutes north to/from the airport, Iao Valley, the starts of the Road to Hana and the drive up to Haleakala crater (gotta see all those!), 10 minutes south to the start of all the stores, restaurants and beaches in Kihei and Wailea, and 20 minutes NW to Lahaina. We met people staying at big resorts in Kaanapali and Wailea who skipped the best parts of the island because of the long drive to/from their resort. If you’re at this condo, you’re more than halfway to almost everything! The owners were great to deal with too. Joel was quick to answer all of our questions and even sent us a list of things to do and recommended restaurants. We will definitely be back!!! What a great condo!

My family and I spent 12 days at this condo last month (June 2010). I went with my husband and two girls, aged 7 and 15. From the moment we decided on this unit, the owner, Joel, was on the top of everything. Every email was promptly answered and any concern addressed in a timely manner. The ride from the airport at 8 PM was simple and easy. When we arrived, the condo was cleaned and ready to be fully enjoyed. The master bathroom is spacious and has a large walk-in shower, very convenient after swimming. The master bedroom has a king size pillow top mattress to die for. It is so comfortable that every night we slept like royalty. The sheets felt soft and luxurious. No complaints at all. Since the bedroom had a large sliding glass door, we could enjoy a panoramic view of the ocean from the bedroom. The location and setup of the condo allowed us to have both privacy, and a splendid view. From the kitchen, we could prep our meals and still enjoy the beautiful view and the sound of the ocean. The condo has a nice TV but we barely watched it since we spent a good part of the day enjoying the many activities Maui has to offer. One of those activities was deep sea fishing, departing from the harbor next door. While at the condo, we greatly enjoyed the lanai with the kids. We tried to eat outside as much as we could. On the days we decided to stay home, we enjoyed the swimming pool and my little one enjoyed picking up seashells and building sandcastles at the small beach fronting the property. When we decided to eat out, we enjoyed the different snacks and salad at Costco Food Court as well as the local restaurants. One of which was Beach Bums, right there on the harbor. The food was good, the price moderate and the service friendly. Their BBQ sampler is delicious and the portion was very generous. We also had the occasion to walk the beach leading to Kihei. Though we did not make it to Sugar Beach, we had a wonderful time bonding as a family. Whenever we had needs or questions, we turned to the managerial staff. Their friendliness, knowledge, and availability were truly appreciated since we were new to Maui. When time came to think about departure, the printer in the condo was a plus. We were able to print our boarding passes and not have to worry about checking at the airport. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Maui. We certainly recommend this condo to anyone who is looking for stunning view, comfort and a reasonable price.

We just returned from a 10-day stay here, which we very much enjoyed. The condo is clean, quiet, and comfortable, and provides everything you could need. The master suite is very large, as is the master bath. The second bedroom was large enough for 2 others. I have stayed at three other places on this street, but this condo was best, by far. The view is fantastic. We saw whales three different times, right from the lanai. It is right next door to The Waterfront restaurant, which you should definitely try - wonderful food and service. This area is not crowded and yet within three minutes, you have several restaurants at hand, from a place for a quick hot dog or snack to a great barbecue restaurant with a view of the marina, to a 5-star restaurant with a beautiful ocean view. There is a gas station on your way in or out of the area, which is very convenient. If you want to go out snorkeling to Molokini or whale-watching on a boat, or sport fishing, you can walk right over to the marina downstairs. The people who live in the building are friendly and helpful if you have questions about anything. This place was a great find and I hope to stay here again on future visits.
