I could not have been happier with my experience renting from Kathy. She was willing to work with me and my friends, all of whom are under the age of 25. Kathy was very helpful and always prompt in her correspondence. The condo itself was perfect. It had everything we needed and is literally steps from the beach. My friends and I had an amazing time, and I would highly recommend Kathy's condo to anyone. Kathy's condo will certainly be at the top of my list for any future trips to Fort Walton Bea

Wow, fantastic condo, it had everything we needed, four of us could not think of anything that was misssing. The view is to die for, white sand and oceans where Dolphin frequently swim. Pool very clean,condo was cleaner than my home. We cooked 80% of our meals there, did our laundry right there. Large shop and P.O. on corner, bus stop on corner, bus runs on the hour in winter, 25Cent for Seniors what could be better. No service on weekends or evenings.

We spent 8 days in Kathy's condo on the beach over Christmas 2011. It was a FANTASTIC view from the 2nd floor. It was a comfortable condo with a full kitchen and everything we needed for a relaxing time. Kathy allowed us to use her wireless internet too (thanks!). The Santa Rosa Island area was much quieter than Destin, with hardly anyone on the beach. Great for beach walks! There's a Tom Thumb convenience store half a block away and a Publix grocery store was a short 3 min. drive away.

This is a very nice condo that is right on the beach. A couple of chairs and an umbrella are put up for you every morning so that you can go sit a the beach all day. The view and beach are awesome. What ever you need is just minutes away. .

For the second year in a row, the H.O.G Rally committee and its coordinators, organized the best Florida State Bike Rally week in the Emerald Coast in my opinion. But what made my trip to this rally complete and worth the ride here from Miami, was Kathy and her ocean front beauty. Although we never met, she was just a phone call away. This hostess was very personable, courteous, and helpful.

For the second year in a row, the H.O.G Rally committee and its coordinators, organized the best Florida State Bike Rally week in the Emerald Coast in my opinion. But what made my trip to this rally complete and worth the ride here from Miami, was Kathy and her ocean front beauty. Although we never met, she was just a phone call away. This hostess was very personable, courteous, and helpful. I found all the amenities listed here on Airbnb to be exactly the way she described them. Her Condo faces so close to the beach you could literally skip and hop right over the second floor balcony and you'll land safely right over the sand (Dunes). I wouldn't recommend this though - but you get the picture. One of my favorite features of this beautiful and pristine location, was waking up in the morning under a vast blue sky, inhaling the calm breeze of the sea and hearing the sounds of the ocean in perfect harmony - It was timeless music to my ears. Aside from the peaceful and relaxing ambiance you get from Kathy's condo, the location is truly one of those places that leaves an indelible impression. I highly recommend Kathy and her home for your next travel plans. It will leave you thinking two things: 'Do I really want to stay here for a week? Or, should I stay for a lifetime?' I want to take this opportunity to thank Kathy for making our trip a success for me and my friends.. This past week was full of fun, and excitement. Thanks for the business...we look forward coming up here again

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our weekend at your place in Ft. Walton Beach. The Condo itself was perfect for the four of us with room to spare. The location was great for staying in for the evening or heading to Destin....and having the convenient store right there was very helpful also. We enjoyed ourselves very much and hope to visit again soon!!

We have four teenagers and thought Florida would be a nice vacation. We had no idea just how beautiful it would be. This was a little piece of paradise for our family, a real escape. The condo was better than the photos. Having the condo so close to the beach, having the balcony looking over the beach, was a real treat. The condo exceeded our needs. We felt very comfortable cooking breakfast and lunch in the condo then going out to dinner. I must say I think it was the best location and very accessable. Really this is the first floor because the garage is the first level. Centered perfectly and the board walk is very close. There is a place to rinse off feet and toys or goggles right on the boardwalk which is very helpful. This condo makes you feel like you are on an island but it is close enough to restaurants and shopping that going out is no problem. There is a small pool that is about 4 feet deep that is good for cooling off. Our 13 year old loved the pool more than the beach. Lucky for us we could see the pool from the balcony by our front door! There were many activities for our family like snorkeling, miniature golf, parasailing, shopping, etc. The sunsets were breathtaking and we even saw dolphins.I would recommend this condo to everyone. A wonderful price to pay for a piece of paradise!!

Family Vacation

This was the first vacation my family has been on in 6 years. We were very pleased with our condo. It was clean and very convenient. Beautiful view of the ocean. We are planning on trying to go back every year! If you go there, only advise I have.....bring your own beach chairs! Rental on the chairs gets very expensive.

Of course, if you have additional people, you would have to pay for the rental. Great Vacation in a Great Condo!

In March, my significant other and I spent a week at this condo in Fort Walton Beach. We discovered this treasure in 2010 and as soon as we knew the week of our spring break, we booked it again for 2011. Staying at this condo was an amazing experience. We fell asleep and woke up every day to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. There is a grocery store, shopping, and many great restaurants within a short distance, but the main attraction is the ocean right outside the patio door. The condo is on the second floor (the first floor is parking), so you are as close to the ocean as possible. In 2011, the owner added beach service - which is both convenient and comfortable! We loved not having to bring chairs down to the beach every day. There are only about 20 condos in the whole building, so the beach never feels as "busy" as in other, more densely-developed areas. This condo is great for families or couples who want to relax under the sun. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful to work with. She is trustworthy and makes sure you have the best experience possible. This Condo was wonderful! We just returned home after spending a week at the Palms and it was everything we expected from the website and more. It is close to everything we needed in Ft. Walton, Destin or any other surrounding areas. We had easy access to everything we wanted and the traffic on Okaloosa Island is minimal. The parking was great with garage parking and we felt very secure coming in late at night. The Condo was clean, quiet and a beautiful setting looking out over the Gulf on the large balcony. Not being an experienced traveler our dealing with Kathy was great. She made renting this Condo very easy. My husband and I would highly recommend this vacation paradise to anyone. Our week stay was so relaxing and we will definitely go back. Thank you Kathy.

Relaxing Spring Break Trip

My boyfriend and I, two young professionals from Wisconsin, stayed at this condo from April 3 through April 10, 2010. The weather was perfect, and the beach was beautiful. It was so convenient having a Tom Thumb right around the corner for morning newspapers. We spent most of our time on the beach and on the balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The beach was relatively quiet in our section - mainly families. I would definitely recommend your condo to others. It was very relaxing - exactly what we both wanted and needed! We had never rented a condo over the internet before so we were anxious about the transaction; however, the property owner was fantastic. She answered all of our questions quickly, and we felt very comfortable driving 1,000 miles south with our reservation. Thank you, Kathy!

This condo is great! I stay here a week each year and have never been disappointed. The accomodations are spacious, modern and comfortable. It has everything you could want. The view is great and the beach is beautiful and easy to access. The owner has been professional and helpful.The pool and other amenities have always been clean and well maintained.Great location without crowding. We stayed here for a week in July 2009. I have to say that it was more than what we were anticipating! The pictures on here do not reflect how close the beach actually is to you. We could not have asked for a more perfect condo. We awoke every morning overlooking the beautiful beach from our bedroom. This has got to be one of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen. The weather was great and the water was fabulous! Very clear and teal blue on most of the days we were there. We saw dolphins a few mornings and jellyfish two of the days that we were there. The dolphins are out very early in the morning, so enjoy getting up with the sunrise. Everything was well kept and we had everything we needed right there. We were close to any sight seeing that we wanted to do and enjoyed going to the Track one evening. It's a must for those of you that enjoy mini-golf and go carts! We did most of our cooking right in the condo, so only experienced Hard Rock Cafe in Destin, and it was great. I would definately recommend this to anyone and am hoping that we will be able to come back again! Thanks again Kathy for making your home ours!

The Palms

The property was in a great location with a great view of the beach. We did see dolpins in the water one morning. There were lots of things to do in the area. We had some great local seafood and enjoyed shopping at the outlet mall in Destin. The Gulfarium was fun and we took a dolphin cruise which was great as we saw many dolphins in the water. Our daughter went parasailing in Destin and totally loved the experience. We would come to the area again as it is very family friendly and the beach was awesome...great white sand and emerald water.

This is a very quiet, relaxing condo! Kathy is very easy to deal with. No problems from the oil at this beach! If you are looking for a nice spacious, well decorated, well kept condo, this is the one for you!! The balcony is very large and provides abundant privacy.

BEST YET. ME AND MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN TO THE DESTIN AREA 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PLACE WE HAVE STAYED. THE FORT WALTON AREA IS SO MUCH MORE RELAXING THAN THE DESTIN AREA. THE BEACH IS GORGEOUS AND VERY WELL KEPT. THE CONDO IS BY FAR ONE OF THE NICEST AND BEST KEPT THAT WE HAVE STAYED IN. Hi, Kathy! Our visit was wonderful and, you are right, it was not long enough. The weather cleared just as we finished unpacking so we were able to enjoy the unusually (?) large breakers that afternoon. The next day (although forecast for 50 % showers) was beautiful and we got to enjoy the water again. We tried the wave surfing but even though the waves were big they weren't quite big enough and the undertow was pretty strong. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful aqua green water. It was like being kids again. Didn't see any dolphins but being native Floridians we have seen them before, so not so much a big disappointment for us. The views from your condo were as spectacular as shown on the website and the beach so close it was like having our own private area. I took a few pictures from the balcony but I don't think they were as good as yours. Enjoyed your condo too. It was so much nicer than staying in a motel. Enjoyed the lack of traffic in that vicinity and the lack of crowds. Enjoyed just hearing the surf and watching the birds. Enjoyed it so much I forgot to watch my standard Wednesday and Thursday night programs on TV. It was just what we needed and even if our visit was short it was a wonderful place to have a mini-vacation. We loved our dinners in Destin at Fisherman's Wharf and also Hard Rock Cafe (in shopping center behind Bass Pro Shop), both on Hwy 98. It was hard to choose because there were so many neat/delicious sounding restaurants in Destin and Ft. Walton. Thank you for letting us use it even though I know renting it for only two days was probably an inconvenience for you. We loved Okaloosa Island so hope to return someday. Thanks again for everything. AWESOME!!!! That pretty well sums up our Ft. Walton Beach experience. What a wonderful time we had sharing your condo for the week of 6/2-6/9. We definately did not want to leave. So much to see and do... Location...location....location....The Palms has the best....within minutes of so much to see and do in Ft. Walton and Destin. Something for everyone. Our condo was one of the big reasons helping make the Wheeler vacation one of the best ever. Thanks Cathy. The condo itself is just great. Large enough so we weren't stepping all over one another...very nicely furnished...clean...well-kept...and the view....incredible. Having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the gulf sure beats the heck out of how I usually have breakfast. The water, sand, sunrise, sunset... Should we ever come back to this part of the country....which we probably will...Cathy will be the 1st person I contact to see if she has room for us. We have been vacationing along the Florida Gulf Coast for over 25 years and I have to rate this condo tops. The extra touches are always nice and this place had them. The beach was fantastic and very well managed, the wildlife was great (15 dolphins one day), the water was beautiful. Walking distance (same block) to convenience store is nice. Finally, Kathy is one of the nicest and most personable owners you will ever deal with. We will be repeat customers. Very highly recommended.

We visited May 19th through 21st 2007. The weather was perfect, the beach was exuisite as well as the views. The condo was great. The balcony was as close to the beach as you can get. I love the laid back feel of Okaloosa Island and the friendly people. The beaches were unspoiled as well as the surrounding area. This condo is perfect for families as well as a romantic getaway. The views from the Master suite are a bonus. The only regret was that I didn't stay longer!

This unit was fantastic, Kathy was great to work with and went out of her way to ensure our stay was perfect. The beach's white sand, blue and green waters are breathtaking and we saw dolphins on two of the days we were there. Everything you need or want is very close by. We stayed the last week of March and the weather was just right. We could not of asked for a better unit, owner or Spring Break.

We stayed 3-4-07 until 3-11-07, The room was perfect. It had everything we needed. The condo was decorated so nice, it was homey, it truly made us not want to leave. We rang in the new year and had our best Fl vacation ever at Doug and Kathy's condo.our stay from Jan first thru March 3rd, 2007 was outstanding!Even on a rainy day, the view will take your breath away. Our photos of the two months we enjoyed walking on the beach and exploring new restaurants made a beautiful slide show. We visited the Pensecola Naval Museum (free admission and the kids will love it.) A three hour drive to Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, AL is an absolute must if you have time for a day trip. It was a featured article in March issue of COUNTRY LIVING. This condo is situated on a beautiful beach, yet only 10 miles away from an outlet mall for the ladies while the men fish, golf, or just soak up the sun while they nap. Enjoy, you deserve the best in life, and thanks Doug and Kathy.

We loved this property! And Kathy was a joy to work with! This was our first stay in a condo and we will never go back to a hotel! The pool was great for my kids and the view from Kathy's condo is SPECTACULAR!!!! It is conveniently located but out of the way and private. What more can I say but it is beautifully decorated and very comfortable - felt like we were at home! We will definitely be back next year!!!! We just returned from a week in Ft.Walton. The condo was great, the sand and water beautiful, and the food delicious. The Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival provided many activities for us also. I would recommend Kathy's condo to anyone planning a trip to the beach. Gayle Blair

We really enjoyed our trip to Ft. Walton Beach! The condo was great- very roomy and comfortable. The beach seemed within arms reach and our children LOVED the pool. Mrs. Kathy was very pleasent and accomodating- we will definetly rent again!

This was truly a special place for my family and me to spend our vacation. The condo was very comfortable and nicely furnished. It had all the amenities we wanted. The unit was also very clean (I'm a stickler for cleanliness!!!). We all loved being so close to the ocean. The view of the ocean and beach, the sounds and even the smell of ocean air provided us with a very relaxing, very enjoyable vacation. I strongly recommend this unit if you are considering a vacation in the Florida pan handle.

The pictures don't do this property justice. The condo is on the 2nd level, but it is the first living level (ground floor is parking). It is literally a stone's throw away from the water. We had one friend sleep on the balcony all week because the weather and sounds were so beautiful. The unit is very soundproof but I recommend leaving the balcony doors open. We had everything we needed--even cable internet (for better/worse). It's only a few minutes in the car to everything from grocery stores to night clubs, but the 30-second walk to the Tomb Thumb was most convenient. One of the best aspects of my vacation was doing business with Kathy. She is a very sweet person and great judge of character. We'll definetly return when we can, and recommend The Palms to our friends and family.
