Costambar has a charme that captured u all. With family (two adult daughters) and friends, we spent a beautiful week on the relaxing beach, exploring the surrounding treasures-bird watching from the terraces-and enjoying the most magnificent view from the balcony! The owner was extremely helpful, and the other people living in the house where a delight to be with. Costambar has a variety of very nice restaurants and there is even a German bakery! We will be back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Along with my sister and brother-in-law, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. This is a fabulous location with a priceless, panoramic view. The bathroom off the master bedroom is literally "a real room!" Along with a modern toilet and basin it had a full shower and bath, comfortable seating and a European bidet! The terraces are a great way to enjoy the sun. In fact on several days we didn't even go to the beach. We enjoyed the area and the beautiful, friendly people very much and found plenty to do. The Los Magnos golf course is right around the corner and the terrific beaches are all in walking distance. A full kitchen for those who choose not to eat in some of the best eating spots in the neighborhood. Puerta Plata is a quick five minute drive, with its both modern and historic sites and the Market Place to buy all kinds of goods. Then to stroll the Malecon and see the Fortaleza San Felipe. Wow ...I want to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1980
About the owner: Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in New York, I have been a home owner in Great Neck, Long Island since 1980. I am a husband and father (25 years) and have two wonderful children.
Why the Owner Chose Puerto Plata:
This is a family owned property constructed under the supervision of my father who spent 40 years in the New York area construction business. My father (raised in Texas) was initially attracted to the Puerto Plata area because it's well known as horse country and he fell in love with the friendly, beautiful people.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Warm friendly people and fabulous food. Great value for the U.S. dollar and walking distance to golf, the beach, grocery stores and delicious restaurant options.
