We stayed for three weeks and experienced serene quiet solitude, thrashing of huge waves and winds that shook the house and everything in between. House is clean and comfortable. Very pleasant experience, perfect location for exploring both ends of the island. Car is a must. Recommend highly.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Gina, Thank you for taking time to write a review. Also sounds like you experienced some really high winds which can happen in March. Hope you will return. The Walkers

Ten Bay Beach was magnificent. The house was so well appointed and setting idyllic! The owners were extremely helpful from first contact. The beach is great to walk on and unfortunately the weather only permitted us to kayak one time, it was an amazing experience. WiFi was also greatly appreciated. Eleuthera is a very laid back island with friendly people. We cooked 2 wonderful dinners at the house from fish bought at the Tarpum Bay dock....Tippy's was great for live music and excellent food. A real treat was horseback riding with Oceanview Farm. We did have a snag re the car rental....not getting the car we reserved, but it did get us where we needed to explore!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi Lynn, Thanks for the review. We enjoy folks who appreciate the simpler side of life and love exploring. You are right; Eleuthera is a great place to just kick back and enjoy every day! Rock & Nell

This was our second visit to Eleuthra and first time to Serenity Cove. The house is set up wonderfully with all the amenities of home. The view from the deck was terrific Ten Bay beach was clam and great for swimming and snorkeling. We didn't see as much sea life as past guests but it can't be any better than out the door down the stairs into the ocean. Our weather was great only one day that we watched as a storm move down the island to us making the water very rough then gone just as quickly. This trip we stayed home more to cook ,having found a few grocery stores last year. It was great having wi- fi to skype family back home and show off your beautiful home. A special thank you to Rock for helping arrange a vehicle for us do to our family circumstances before arriving. Once again thank you Nell and Rock for sharing your beautiful home with us on this island paradise. We will surely return again and recommend your home to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Lorna and Richard, We are glad to know that your 2nd Eleuthera experience was a good one. We love the island and appreciate folks who do as well. Thank you for letting us know your vacation was a good one. Do come back! Rock & Nell

Very sadly we're ending our 17 day stay in Serenity Cove. There are no words to truly describe this location - amazing, breathtaking, fantastic, peaceful, beautiful...perfect! The house is great and a bit bigger than we expected. The kitchen has all the cooking equipment/utensils you'll need, we cooked almost all our meals rather than going out. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom and a large walk-in closet that allowed us to get suitcases out of the way and hang all our clothes. The back deck was much bigger than expected and wraps around to connect to a large, beautiful tiled front porch so no matter what time of day, we always had a large area of shade or large area of sun to choose from. We brought our snorkel gear, but the water is so clear, that between the deck that looks straight down into the water and the kayaks, we ended up only snorkeling a couple times and instead watched the sea life straight from the deck or in various locations from the kayaks. We saw several types of rays of all sizes, many kinds of fish including various tropical fish, barracuda, grouper, etc., a small octopus, a small squid, lots of jelly fish, and a pod of dolphins on 2 different days during our morning kayak trips - yesterday they went all around us, coming within 1-2 feet of the kayaks several times for about 20 minutes. It's been beyond anything we ever expected. The bay is enormous and is as calm as a lake most the time. The vacation was fantastic to begin with, but the kayaks took it to a whole other level. Nell and Rock were extremely nice to deal with and provided us with great information about the area. The caretaker Arthur was also really nice and helpful, and called to check on us and make sure everything was working well for us. He also arranged for a rental vehicle that was perfect for exploring the island. The location was near enough to Governor's Harbor so it was an easy trip in for groceries or to eat out, but the house, cove and beach are extremely private. Ten Bay beach is wonderful, we went the entire length of the island over a few days and didn't find a beach that would be better to stay on. Between the great beach, the cove the house is on, and the calm bay for swimming and exploring we saw no need to go anywhere else. We saw no other people for most of our stay, and the beach got "busy" on Christmas day with a total of about 10 people on it. We highly recommend this house, we wouldn't stay anywhere else on Eleuthera!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Beverly, What a wonderful review. Since Rock and I truly love this island, we are most appreciative of your comments. It shows that you did enjoy your time as much as we do when we are on the island. We could not have asked for better renters!! Rock & Nell

This house was set at a perfect location, easily accesible by any car and perfectly located on the island, the house was super well appointed and we were missing NOTHING.....spices/toilet paper/paper towel /soap we're all ready for us! A 1 hr drive to lighthouse beach as well as glass window bridge, Plenty fish right in front as you snorkle, grouper house right under the cliffs. Really the hosue and island we're more than we expected as we usually take reviews with a grain of salt: we were expecting worse, the PIX really dont do the place as much justice as being there....cant wait to return!.....Note almost everything on the island is closed on sundays so if u arrive late saturday dont wait to get your food for the next day!...If the wind isnt there the no-see-ums are so make sure you bring some sprayRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Greg, Thank you for your very nice comments about the house. We are so blessed with good renters who appreciate a laid-back vacation on a truly beautiful island! Thanks for taking time to let us know that your vacation was as you had hoped it would be. Rock & Nell

My wife and I just returned from a two week, end of November stay at Serenity Cove, and it was without a doubt our best vacation ever. Never before have we left a rental property saying that we would return,,,, until now. The home is incredibly beautiful, tastefully decorated and in a spectacular location. My wife, who is incredibly picky when it comes to cleanliness, stated as soon as she unlocked and opened the door, just how unbelievably clean the house and everything in it was. No cobwebs, no crumbs in the drawers and appliances that looked like they were brand new!!! We had the pleasure of meeting the cleaning lady, who came part way through our trip to clean, and it was immediately apparent that she takes great pride in her work. I fished, swam and snorkelled from the back deck everyday, and slept peacefully at night to the sound of the waves. We truly hated leaving this Island paradise. We will definitely return and would HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Bob, We truly enjoyed getting to know you folks through e-mails. I knew you would be great renters! We are so glad that you enjoyed your 2-week stay; and, we hope you will return! Rock & Nell

Absolutely beautiful location and property on Ten Bay Beach. Loved walking through the water to the beach at low tide (still navigable at high tide), abundance of sea life (star fish, grouper, lobster, sting rays, nurse sharks, sea snakes (we think), sand dollars and beautiful coral pieces). Definately would recommend as a relaxing gettaway. Locals were friendly, it was off season in October, so a lot of local restaurants were closed, but still just what we needed. Would love to return again next year, dissappointed Hurricane Sandy cut our celebration short by a day this year and we had to evacuate. We will return!Recommended for: Romantic getaway
Owner response: Dear Tina, We too hate that your celebration was cut short. If you decide to come back again, please remind me to comp you 2 days toward your rental on the return visit. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay!

We enjoyed a beautiful week of perfect weather, water, beach and beverage :-) at Serenity Cove. We absolutely loved swimming with the rays, skinny fishes and star fish. We were entertained daily by an egret "Birdie", the salt water aquarium just off the deck and a friendly black dog "Rainbow". Serenity Cover was perfect for us. We could enjoy the beach with daily walks, and then swim or walk through the bay back to our deck and eliminate most of the sand.Owner response: Hi Helen, Thank you for comments; and a special thank you for your e-mail when you returned. We greatly value feedback; it helps us stay on top of everything! Hope you will return. Rock & Nell

My family of 3 just returned from Eleuthera. Ten Bay Beach and the Serenity Cove property are truly spectacular. The snorkelling bay right at the foot of the house is unbelievable, alive with so many species of sea life. This is not a resort, its so much better - this is a place to go and relax and just "be" on one of the most beautiful, secluded beaches that can be found anywhere. The house is very clean and well appointed with all the neccessities to make a perfect relaxing vacation. The deck and wrap around view of the cove and ocean are 10/10. I really hope to go back again soon. Thanks Nell and Rock for sharing this very special place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Kathy, Thank you for posting a review. Rock and I love Eleuthera; and, we take special pleasure in knowing others do as well. Please come back! Nell & Rock

The beach is fundamentally amazing especially for kids. The water is clear turquoise, amazing shells, and wonderful sand. The house itself is a great location and has easy beach access. Beautiful view from the backyard. The place is truly amazing. There are only 3 negatives: 1 - the patio is NOT at all safe for kids. 2 - there is nowhere to put the garbage except to put it in your rental car and drive it to the dump 3 - the showers have terrible water pressureRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Selina, thank you for taking time to post a review; we are always looking for feedback. Island life in the Bahamas is not for everyone. You are correct; there is no commercial garbage pick-up on the island. We do ask renters to remove their personal garbage from the house, taking it to the disposal site which is about 4 miles north of the house. That road is traveled often by renters so it has never been a problem for renters at our house or any others who rent in the area. We are sorry it inconvenienced you. Regarding the deck, we always caution people who have children that our deck does overlook the water; it is high and the coral is below the deck. As you did not have children, that we were aware of, we did not mention this with you. We have many renters with children and the deck has not been a problem for them. We have had potential renters with very small children who have opted not to rent after we discussed the deck with them. You are the first person to let us know the water pressure was low on the showers. We have had a heavy rental schedule this winter; no one has mentioned it. We are going to the island very soon and will check this out. Thank you for letting us know. Water pressure may be lower than one would have in the states because water at our house and all others in the area is fed through cisterns. Again, thank you for your comments. We hope that overall, you enjoyed your stay.

A lovely spot. The house was well-appointed and well-maintained. The ladder down to the sea puts you right into swimming depth... in the company of needlefish and minnows galore. The outdoor shower and abundant beach towels were very welcome. The wrap-around verandah offers both sun and shade and a view right into the sea - your very own aquarium. A nice retreat, but if you don't feel like cooking, it's just a short drive to The Beach House, Tippy's and Island Farms. A slightly longer drive to Coco di Mama and Bristol Wines. One day, we found a fisherman at the Governor's Harbour wharf offering langoustine and grouper. The langoustine made a delicious dinner. We would consider returning.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi Carole, Your warm comments are so appreciated. We take special pleasure in folks enjoying the island as much as we enjoy being on Eleuthera. Please return!

This property was exactly as depicted in the photos and description. Excellent! It was clean and had everything we needed while we were there with another couple for 10 days. It is ideally located in the central region of Eleuthera which made it the best place for our husbands to go fishing from. The beach is second to none for relaxing, its clean, and we even did a bit of snorkelling along the rock edge of the beach. We were only a short drive to Governer's Harbour to shop, eat at restaurants, and attend the local "Fish Fry" on Fiday night! I would greatly recommend this property to anyone wanting a no hassle, peaceful, vacation. We especially loved turning on the flood lights at night and watching the sea creatures from the deck, and of course the Richardos Coconut Rum!! We didn't want to leave! We'll be back for sure...Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Kenzie & Kyt, thank you so much for your comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the island, and the house met your needs. And, thanks for your rental again next January!! As folks who own a lodge in BC, we feel especially honored that you shared your comments with us.

We have recently returned from a stay of just over a week at this lovely property. It is set in a superb location and we spent a lot of time on the large deck just taking in the view and observing the variety of fish that inhabited the cove beneath us. The villa itself was very clean and well appointed. We loved the beach at Ten Bay - a short walk either through the water or overland. Often my husband and I were the only people there. The bonefishing was hard but successful. This was our first trip to the Bahamas and we were not disappointed. The villa owners gave us lots of advice prior to departure to ensure our stay was an enjoyable one. We loved Eluethera and hope to return to the in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from our stay in this well appointed house. It is well named - offering perfect seclusion as it sits back in it's own little cove. The house itself is very well equipped, the big supply of towels was much appreciated as it saved us having to pack them. Swimming in the cove was just like swimming in an aquarium- so many fish of all colors and sizes. We even fed the fish in the mornings, making for some great photo opportunities. At night the house has lights that will illuminate the cove - so pretty. It has a TV etc, but we preferred to watch the fish and sunset from the deck. At night the stars are spectacular. A great central location for exploring the island, we drove the whole length of the island discovering so many spectacular beaches along the way. We saw many great places but really it was hard to beat the view off our own deck- Ten Bay is a great beach, you can actually walk over there at low tide. For a truly relaxing vacation we couldn't have chosen better , my dream now is to repeat the experience!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Karen, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We were so pleased to know that you enjoyed Serenity Cove as much as we do. We visit the house a good bit in order to keep it feeling fresh and ready for guestd. Nothing worse then coming to an island and not being able to find a decent wine glass! Many thanks. Come back!
