Bella Mare is Italian for "Beautiful Sea". Built in 1891, this stately 2-story Victorian is majestic in interior living space (4000 sqft) and the half acre backyard extends to the edge of the bluff above the ocean. The owners have upgraded the interior to offer quality modern conveniences yet kept some of the architectural charm of its era. When you enter the house, you are greeted by a large living room, which has a 40" TV and plenty of comfortable seating. WIFI internet in the home plus for those that need it a 50ft Ethernet cable. A few steps to your left is the ocean view fireplace room with more comfortable sofas and a cozy window seat. The open kitchen and dining area also has ocean view seating for friends to kibitz while you create a gourmet meal on the commercial grade Wolf Range. There are 4 bedrooms and a very generous "dorm" space on the 2nd floor that comfortably houses 4 twin beds and a twin trundle bed. The 2 queen bedrooms upstairs are separated by a recently remodeled bathroom -- each room has an ocean view. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, a queen bedroom with a newly remodeled full bathroom and an ocean view, and another queen bedroom has direct access to a newly remodeled full bath. A large deck with hot tub, stainless steel BBQ, and lots of seating complete the picture. Park your car and walk next door to Bridget Dolan's (you may even see a visiting "star") for local brew & eats & internet , or select one of the other fine restaurants in Elk. Across from Queenie's Roadhouse (known for yummy breakfasts) is a Trail Head for walks to the beach. You can also read up on Bella Mare at the Elk Museum. Lots of things to do without the car or explore further along the coast and return to the charm of a gracious home and spectacular sunsets. What more can you ask for on a vacation!
