A perfect place to get away from it all. From our lanai we had an ocean view and incredible privacy. Our only intruders were the birds that kept us entertained while we drank our morning coffee and ate our meals. Do not miss the opportunity to snorkel at the black sand beach. Turtles everywhere you look! Excellent location for access to Volcanoes National Park. Perfect size for 2 people. Would be very tight for 4. Very well appointed ( stove but no oven). Had everything we needed.

Loved the setting! The location is beautiful and close to some nice places to visit (Volcano N.P., South Point, Green Sand Beach). The Wednesday Farmers' Market in the nearby village was great to get food for a barbeque at the pool. Malasadas and sweet bread from the Punaluu Bakery were awesome as well.

Turtle Hut I is a delightful place to stay. The condo is nicely furnished and immaculate. The location is ideal....private, overlooking the golf course and the ocean....we could listen to the distant sound of the waves and the wonderful birds from the lanai. The remoteness is a plus....just like "old Hawaii"! Barb is a lovely person. It felt like we were renting from a friend and everything was as she described it. We appreciated her thoughtful gift of the delicious local coffee! We can't wait to return!

What a special place the Turtle Hut is. We found the place to be just a Barbara described it, and Barbara to be a conscientious and gracious host. The secluded nature of the condo - and the unit's position on the end - quiet and lovely! What a wonderful place to wake up to the sound of the oceans, the birds enjoying their morning meal, and a wonderful sunrise. The short jaunt down to the Black Sand Beach was my favorite part of my day!

after arriving at midnight, we walked out onto the lanai to see the most magnificent stars we have ever seen! Even as tired as we were, we could barely go back inside! and every day for our whole month's stay was just as awesome as that first "welcome"! we drove all over the island, swam in the ocean, golfed, watched the whales play, turtles, too, and ate way too many malasadas. How can we bear to leave? except to know that we will be back!

Barb, I cannot begin to thank you enough for sharing your little bit of heaven! Punalu'U Black Sand Beach, turtles, hot tub, pool, MAGNIFICENT sunrises and sunsets! Who could ask for more? The natural beauty that abounds is only topped by the comfort of the hut to come home to every evening! Every possible amenity and creature comfort of home. This is a perfect place of respite, away from the crowds, traffic and hubbub of the big towns! We enjoyed our evening walks to the black sand beach, and for the morning sunrise so awesome! from the 2nd Tee! We spent a day hiking into the green sands beach, something we had always wanted to do, and it was way beyond our expectations! Mahalos for the. offee, fruits and flowers, but mostly your hospitality, which was priceless!

We had an amazing trip and loved staying here! We started each day drinking your gift of fabulous, decadent! Ka'u coffee on the lanai, listening to the ocean, feeding the finches and red birds, and planning the day's adventures. Barb - We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Turtle Hut! We had such a great vacation. This was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay, as we are busy-bodies during the day (we love to drive, hike and explore...the condo was a great starting point for all of our adventures on the island), but we like a peaceful place to land, and the mornings and evenings at the Turtle Hut were exactly that for us. Calm, quiet, and pristine....loved feeding the birds every morning (will miss the cute red cardinal that showed up every morning), and the calming sound of the ocean in the evenings. And mahalo for the yummy coffee!

The past few days have been like a dream to us. Aloha, Barb - Your place is really lovely and we truly enjoyed our time in the Turtle Hut. It is so relaxing over here just looking at the waves from the patio or taking a walk on the beach to look at the turtles. We were able to take day trips and ejoy different parts of the island as well.

Our time on the Big Island was amazing! My nightly trips to the hot tub, AWELSOME! I loved enjoy the sould of the surf each night and drinking our morning coffee on the patio watching the birds. Matther 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Although we've been to Naalehu and Sea Mountain many times, our stay at the Turtle Hut was a whole new experience. It was wonderful staying right on the golf course, overlooking the ocean, and we love playing golf here! And the beach just a short walk away was excellent! We will return here, sooner rather than later, and we can only hope that your. ondo will be available for us!

thank you for helping us achieve the experiences of a lifetime! Our three kids are ALL crying right now because it is time to leave. We got to see turtles swimming and snorkeling, whales playing in the bay right in front of us, so many things crossed off my "Bucket List"! Last nite we saw the new lava flows into the ocean at the Volcanoes Park, absolutely superb. This is the PERFECT vacation spot for families and we will recommend your place to everyone back home!

This was the perfect place to stay in between the "tourist traps" that started and end our visit to the islands. We so enjoyed the solitude, the view and the proximity to the Volcanoes National Park. This condo was in a great location. We enjoyed walking to the black sand beach to see the turtles (alas, we were a day late to see the hatching) but loved the area. Perfect location for peace and tranquility. Kitchen was well equipped w/ utensils, a micro and cook-top, but missing an oven. Overall, we had a great time relaxing and sightseeing. .

We spent 3 weeks in Hawaii and our week at Turtle Hut was the VERY BEST!!! This modern and immaculate condo has the most welcoming decor of palm trees and, what else--turtles! It overlooks beautiful tropical gardens and ocean bluffs. It is also first class in every way: everything needed for cooking is at your fingertips; the lanai provides the perfect and peaceful outdoor dining view,and a lovely pool and hot tub welcome all to relax and watch the spectacular waves crash into sea. The location is also perfect, being halfway between Hilo and Kona making it easy to explore the lower half of the island (Black Sand beach being a minute down the road, and Volcano National Park only 35 minutes away!) And the nearby town of Na-alehu is charming, complete with farmers market, grocery store, bakery and restaurant. There is not one negative thing we can say about our stay at Turtle Hut. Wherever our daily adventures took us, we loved coming "home" each night, knowing we could wake up in this lovely piece of Hawaiian paradise. We really hated to leave.

Dining on the lanai, watching the brilliant turquoise water smash into gorgeous white waves against the bluff-- what an amazing experience! Aloha! Thank you so much for sharing your home away from home. We felt right at home the moment we walked in. I* grew up on the mauka side of Kona. It was a new experience that my wife and I got to see staying on this side of the island. The magic of this island is very evident everywhere you look, it just takes an open mind and open heart. Staying here with its beautiful view and the peace and quiet, one can experience the "mana and aloha" of Hawaii. We will definitely highly recommend this special place to our friends and family!

We have stayed many places on the islands over the years and big island is our favorite. The "turtle hut" is by far the best spot on big island! We love this quiet beautiful place. The views are spectacular and the lanai looks over the largest stretch of undevoloped coastline left in all the hawaiin islands. Barb's condo has everything you could every want and more! We will be back...

Wow! We came down to Punalu'u for a family wedding on the beach and decided to reserve one of these condos we've seen along the golfcourse, but never have stayed in. What a wonderful oasis this place is! So UN-like Kona and its traffic and crowds and noise. Its hard to believe that only a little over an hour's drive takes you to this place and its serenity! I couldn't begin to count the stars in the night sky, so beautiful, Barbara! Thank you so much!

Aloha Barbara! We saw dolphins, turtles and whales and lava, but don't worry, we left the lava on the beach. After all are (sic) adventures, it was nice to come back to such a nice place at night. I loved the games you stocked and the movies too. The bed was comfortable and we all fit in it! (Note: 5,6 & 7 year old'ers!)
