The apartment was nicely furnished and comfortable. It is less than a 10min walk from the St. Henri metro station to the apartment where you can get to downtown or Old Port in about 20min. A grocery store is nearby and Atwater market is about a 10min walk from the apartment as well. Overall I had a great stay and Montreal is a beautiful city.

The apartment was perfect. You can rent without concern, as John and Jane are excellent folks. They live next door and are quick to help if you have any questions or want to rent a bike from them. The neighborhood is changing for the better and is relatively quiet. For a family this would be a good apartment as it's not in the thick of a tourist area. Would definitely rent here again. It was an excellent experience. Alot of good amenities like washer and dryer and an excellent roof top deck. Our sons layed there hockey gear on the deck it was quite large. We BBQ'd every night it was great. John I hope I turned off the propane lol. Landlords where very helpful and friendly.

We loved our stay here! The apartment was clean, comfortable, and a perfect fit for our group. The Metro, groceries, and lots of other shopping were very convenient. The furnishings were comfortable, appliances were great, and we pretty much had anything we needed! John and Jane were easy to work with and were happy to answer any questions or requests we had. The internet connection was fantastic about 70% of the time, but it would occasionally go through periods of time where it would disconnect every couple minutes. It wasn't a BIG deal, but for American visitors without international cell phone plans who rely on wifi to communicate, it got a tiny bit frustrating. But certainly not enough to ruin our stay! Otherwise, our experience was just perfect.

We had such a lovely stay at John and Jane's apartment. Everything was there for us when we arrived, including crib and highchair for the children. The second floor balcony is enclosed which was fantastic for letting our three year old run wild on while the adults made breakfast and tidied inside. It's a beautiful apartment, so close to downtown, easy to find parking on the street and steps from the metro and IGA. We would definitely stay again - why pay the same amount for one hotel room when you can rent an entire place and have room enough for everyone? Thank you so much for a great stay. We'll be back!

Our stay (family of four) was very enjoyable! The apartment was very clean and comfortable (it had everything we needed). It was in a perfect location to the metro and market. The owners were very kind (with arriving bagels) and went over the surrounding areas and tips (very organized which I appreciated). Thank you for an enjoyable stay in Montreal with my family. Despite being their for a sad occasion my Aunt's funeral. The place was perfect, the shops close by and your hospitality was great. The bagels we received upon arrival was a nice touch. The only suggestion from the ladies was more mirrors. A lady likes to see her skirt I am told. Thanks again I definitly recommend as a place to stay in Montreal.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had 4 adults and two toddlers in our party, and the size of the apartment was just right (the toddlers slept in the den). The location is great, within a few blocks of the metro station and IGA. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished, the kitchen had all the pots and pans and utensils we needed, and Jane was nice enough to give us a phone call to tell us to move our cars (so we wouldn't get towed) when the city came through with plows to clear the street. All in all a wonderful time.

We just returned from a two months stay in Montreal. Four of us (husband, wife, and two little children) lived in Jane and John's very clean and comfortable triplex. Our spacious and comfortable unit, with its own entrance, took up the second floor of the building. We also had access to a nice deck. Jane and John are the nicest and most responsive rental owners that I have ever interacted with, and I do quite a bit of travelling. They accommodated our particular needs/requests, and were helpful. They live in a building next door so were always available when needed. The building is nicely renovated, and its furnishings are in excellent shape and of high quality. The beds were comfortable and the linen, blankets and pillows were very clean. The rental came with everything a family of four needed for an extended stay, and everything was spotless. The size of our unit suited us perfectly- large enough for our family, with two bedrooms, and an extra tv room that our kids used as a playroom. The open kitchen and dining area were also comfortable to cook and sit in, and our kids also enjoyed that area. The location was convenient- on a quiet street, a short walk from the metro, with a few bus lines one block away. It only takes a few minutes by metro or car to get anywhere downtown, and it's a short walk to the atwater market. The immediate neighbourhood has an IGA supermarket nearby, a big old church, and a playground. Parking was easy to find and free, usually right in front of the building. This place was a real treat to stay in, and I highly recommend it.

The apartment certainly lived up to the photos and descriptions. The proximity of the Atwater Markets and restaurants gave us the choice of eating in or out and the 'depanneur' on the corner provided any last minute necessities. The metro was just minutes away and provided easy access to many attractions. John and Jane were very friendly and helpful and the information binder and brochures provided us with lots of options. I very much enjoyed the short stay in Montreal and would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Montreal.

Our family reunion in August was a huge success, largely because of the apartments. We rented all three, and it was wonderful to have the second floor deck for meals and lounging around. It was a perfect combination of privacy and togetherness. Everyone loved the apartments and of course the proximity to Atwater Market and the canal. We rented a 10-person canoe one day for an hour or so! Also we went to nearby Joe Beef, what a fabulous meal, everyone was extremely impressed.

Wonderful Montreal Getaway

This is our second stay in John & Jane's building. We visited Gallery 3 a couple years ago. The building and the apartments are beautiful. Renovation work is lovely. I could live there - nice furnishings and art work, very clean. So nice to have more than a hotel room to come back to after a long day of exploring. A short walk to Metro provides easy access to museums and so much more. Bike path access is also quick and easy. We often ate breakfast and dinner in the apt and found we had all the tools we needed. John and Jane are extremely helpful, pleasant and accommodating - DVDs available (for all audiences), welcoming bagels, bikes to rent...We look forward to another visit soon.

The apartment was perfect for my family of four. There was great access to the bike trails and the metro. The splash pad described on the website was great to have nearby. There is also a free outside swimming pool only a few blocks away that my children really enjoyed. We would definitely try to stay here again when we return to Montreal.

The condo was very, very clean. Jane brought us delicious bagels which we enjoyed all week long. The only thing you need to be very careful about is parking in the correct place on Thursday morning before 9:30 am. We were told we could park on the street behind the condo or on the cross street. We came back to the condo around 10:30 pm and parked on the cross street as there were no open spots on the street behind the condo. There were several other cars parked on the same side of the street. It is a one way street. The next morning we went out to move our car back to the front of the condo and found a parking ticket on our windshield for $52.00. We looked for signs on the street that said no parking, but didn't find any that we could understand. So we paid the ticket on-line for a total of $54.00.

We found this suite to be very nice, and well kept. My family and I travelled a great deal, with our busy lifestyles, thiw place was perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. We would for sure reconmmend this place to our friends. One small detail, with a family of four, it would be nice to have more room in the tv room, in the event the family wanted to watch a movie etc. Thank you for a wonderful four days stay at your place.

My husband and two teenage daughters rented this 2 /1 Montreal apt close to Atwater Market. It is very clean and cozy. Personal preference: The shower had great water pressure! There was a lovely rooftop deck for our morning tea and bagels (delicious and thoughtfully provided by owners). John and Jane were very welcoming and had a lot of good information about nearby restaurants. The location is ideal for exploring the city. The four of us rented their bicycles and rode up the Lachine Canal to the Atwater for fresh fruit and pastries, then on to Vieux Montreal (very easy cycling) for a couple of days of exploring. We also crossed to Parc Jean-Drapeau (Île Sainte-Hélène) on the ferry with our bikes & had a great time riding their bike paths. We had a rental car (parking on the street was easy) but only used it for driving to the Jardin Botanique and Parc du Mont-Royal. Overall, this apartment was just what we needed and Montreal is a wonderful city to visit.

Our weeks stay at John and Jane's 2 bedroom condo was excellent. So glad that we picked their location, it was easy to get to the airport, we had family members leaving at different times and days. Notre Dame street leads straight to downtown, so that was also convenient. Condo was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

I enjoyed a really wonderful weekend in Montreal. The apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished, and fully equipped (we even enjoyed a barbecue on the deck). John and Jane were very friendly and helpful, and not only left us a binder full of every type of information about Montreal that you could imagine (including a very helpful guide to local restaurants), but also brought us a bag of fresh Montreal bagels with cream cheese. The apartment is very safe, well served by the Metro, and is a very pleasant walk from the bustling Atwater Market. We also enjoyed the public art installation in the St-Henri Metro station - it spells out 'Bonheur d'Occasion' in multi-coloured tiles in honour of Gabrielle Roy's award-winning novel of the same name (published in English as 'The Tin Flute'). I will definitely be back!

I would definitely recommend staying at this apartment. It is very clean, nice layout, brand new appliances, and nice furniture. John and Jane definitely put a lot of work into the place and we were very comfortable. The neighborhood is in transition right now. Don't let the graffiti in the neighborhood worry you - we felt quite save walking home from the subway station at night. The subway station is very close and you can get to downtown Montreal in about 10 minutes. We really liked eating at Johns which is about two minutes away from the apartment.

This is a charming, spacious and well located place. The apartment is close to the Metro and downtown, and there's a good variety of restaurants within walking distance. Though we were there in the winter, the apartment is ideally located near the Lachine Canal, with its extensive bike paths. I'm sure we'll be back!

We would definitely recommend this apartment. It was perfectly clean and well kept with new bathroom and kitchen and everything you need. The location is very convenient, an easy walk to the Metro and the supermarket. The best thing about it is the little details which mean you can settle in immediately and which are often neglected in holiday lets - toilet roll, coffee filters, soap, cooking oil and so on. This is down to the owners, who are the nicest people and make you feel at home straight away, even loaning toys suited to the age of our children.

This gem made our first visit to Montreal absolute magic! Spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood with every detail thought of down to an amazing selection of movies. Kitty corner to a delightful corner store and walking distance to great restaurants and the Metro. Close to two unique clothiers and an excellent grocery store. Bike rentals were a great touch as were the guides prepared by the owner. Lovely roof-top deck and plenty of room to entertain or for a family or group of friends!

Very clean and pleasant. Owners very cooperative and the manual they provided with the apartment serves as an excellent tour guide with enough to do that we couldn't get through all of it in 3 days. They ask you not to wear your shoes into the apartment (hardwood floors) so if you need to wear shoes be sure to bring slippers of some sort. Don't miss the Atwater market, even if you don't cook.

What a great find! We stayed in this beautiful appt in October 2010. It was our first experience of an appt and John was prompt in answering all queries before our arrival. The appt was exceptionally clean, very well equipped and tastefully refurbished. We wanted for nothing. So much nicer than a sterile hotel room. The photos didn't do it justice-it was far better. The location was perfect,- near the metro, Atwater market for lovely fresh food, and not far from Old Montreal. We easily walked there along the Lachine canal. Having lived in Montreal 40 years ago, this was a trip down memory lane. John was able to bring us up to date on one or two things. We were pleased to experience the super bagels and cream cheese again. We would recommend this appt to anyone, and will certainly use it if we visit Montreal again.

My friend and I stayed here for a week in early October. The apartment was wonderful; tastefully decorated and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the bountiful Atwater market is nearby if you feel like cooking. John and Jane supplied the fresh Montreal bagels for breakfasts. :) The unit is very quiet and has its own private entrance from the street. It is conveniently located near the metro and is an excellent base from which to explore the city; whether by metro, car, bike or on foot. I would definately book this apartment again.

We stayed for three nights with our extended family crew and could not have been more comfortable and well-cared for by John and Jane. There were puzzles on hand for the kids, a great selection of DVD's, a well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer. John and Jane also put together a very thorough and helpful guidebook including restaurant listings, walks nearby, maps, etc., which we found useful. We could not have had more perfect accommodation - thank you!

Immaculate apartment in a quirky neighbourhood - nice walk to center via Lachine Canal

The apartment was immaculate: recently renovated and decorated with charming furniture and art. It made a very pleasant base to explore Montreal and felt like a real home to return to. It was very well equipped (e.g. kitchen/dishwasher/washing machine). We enjoyed the location close to the Lachine canal and walked or cycled into the center everyday. The neighbourhood has a funky, diverse vibe - well connected to the center but you feel more like a Montrealer than a tourist.

We recently stayed at the Gallery 2 for an extended weekend with our 14 month old. We had a wonderful experience from start (amazing fresh bagels and cream cheese awaiting our arrival) to the end where our hosts graciously allowed us a late check out time. In between we enjoyed taking our busy little boy to the park and splash pad to drain some energy, as well as for nice walks around Atwater market. I wish we had more time for a longer stay! Also notable, our hosts arranged a babysitter for a the evening so that we could go out for dinner (it was our wedding anniversary).

This apartment is beautiful. Impeccably clean, furnished as if the owners lived there themselves. . . everything you need to cook a really nice meal with all the fresh produce you will want to buy at the nearby Atwater market. The location is good, easy to get to anywhere you want to go, but the neighborhood is funky and quieter than the downtown. The rooftop deck is a great place to relax. Wish we could have stayed longer and we'll definitely stay here again when we come back to Montreal. The owners are really great, and make everything easy - they clearly enjoy having guests rent their apartment.

Well-equipped and very clean. Lots of nice ceiling fans and a good deck. The bike rental was very useful, but the metro was also convenient (5 minute walk). A nice park with a splashing area 5 minutes away (even walking with a small child). Grocery store nearby too.

The listing description is really accurate. The property was clean, comfortable and very well equiped - a true home from home. Proximity to downtown Montreal, amenities etc....all true. The owners welcomed us with bagels & cheese and talked us through a file they have compiled with details of things to do & places to eat in the neighbourhood - all very useful. They also lent us Opus metro cards which we added fares to, this made travelling on the metro very easy. The owners were available throughout our 2 week stay to answer questions & give advice. A sincere thank you to you both for the personal touches. The property is very close to the Lachine Canal which was wonderful for quiet walks, bike rides, boating and the micro-breweries. The canal was once lined with factories, the neighbourhood and population were intrically linked to these factories. Luxury condos now stand in their place, the area is up and coming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and warmly recommend this property and it's charming owners.

My friend and I stayed at this apartment for a city vacation. It was excellent proximity to the local subway station as well as a supermarket. There is also a great market close by (15 minute walk) and you can walk into Old Montreal along the canal. The welcome we received was really appriciated and the fresh bagels made a great snack! The notes and tips that were left for us was came in useful too.

We just had a great time at this apt. It was clean with all the amenities you could hope for. The hosts were great and greeted us with a large bag of fresh bagels which was very welcome. The apt is close to the metro place st henri and it take syou everywhere you need to go. There is also a grocery store nearby and even a "depanneur" nearby if you did not feel like walking to far to get some necessities. The place was quiet and very clean. We would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting Montreal. 5 STARS:)
