My girlfriend and I planned a last minute vacation just two weeks before we arrived on the magnificent island of St. John. Christine was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We are two middle-aged females who were traveling without our husbands. I was very concerned with safety. We both felt quite secure and the many people who live on the island are extremely polite and always willing to be helpful. A significant point concerning this condo, other than the fact that the views are exceptional and the decor is clean, comfortable and charming, you have everything within walking distance. There's five or six bars and restaurants just a half a block away, a grocery store and several nice boutiques and shops. The food was exceptional in every one of them. (I recommend the jerk chicken caesar wrap at the Beach Bar for lunch.) There's nothing I can say except you'd be a fool not to book this condo. We took several taxis throughout the week. For the most part, they cost $5 per person. We spent a half a day at the Westin using their beach facilities (If you go for lunch, you can stay as long as you want. The gardens are magnificent.) We also walked our gear up the hill to Frank's Bay. Coolers and chairs are in the closet. Frank's Bay is rocky but it's great for snorkeling....island secret. Don't miss a trip to Trunk Bay. I would suggest you avoid the cruiseship folks by doing a half day and going after 3 p.m. There's no cost to enter the park and you have at least three hours and the beach to yourself. If you get tired of beach hopping, there's always a day at the pool and the hot tub. I would also recommend a trip on a Catamaran called the "Bad Kitty". It takes you to four islands, Virgin Gorda where the Baths have boulders the size of houses, Coopers Island for lunch, Norman for snorkeling in caves, and Jost Van Dyke at the end of the day at the Soggy Dollar Bar. This was well worth the money and the resort offers a $25 discount. All I can say is I'm ready to go back and jealous you're renting a little piece of heaven!!!! Thanks, Christine, for sharing. Upon arrival you are met at the ferry by a Grande Bay Resort representative. They are helpful and kind and are always available to provide you with anything you may need. We ran out of laundry soap and Michelle had it at our door in less than five minutes.

We had a fabulous time in St. John! This condo was superb! It was newer and had all the nice upgrades (granite counters, beautiful furniture etc). It was very well equipped and Christine was very accomodating in the process. We had not been to St John before so we had no idea that the location would be SO incredible of this condo. We could walk to tons of different restaurants, shops and dive shop (and boats) was right next door! We took the taxis to the beach and it was so easy. We rented a car one day and used it for 2 hours to see the other side of town and then realized we did not need to rent it. This side of the island (cruz bay) is so much better than the other in my opinion. We had a blast in St. John and plan to go back this year and would like to stay in this condo again! We had stayed a week in Virgin Gorda before we went to St John, we wished we had just stayed in St. John for the whole 2 weeks and done a day trip to Virgin Gorda. Just fyi, we have 2 toddlers that were with us and they had a blast!

Christine, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful condo at the Grande Bay Resort in St. John. I could not have dreamed how wonderful the trip would turn out. The condo is beautiful and the view from the balcony was awesome. The pictures on the website are exactly the way the condo looks. The one bedroom and adjoining studio were perfect for our family. You would have loved to hear the ooh's and ah's of my family when we walked in the door of the condo. The location is absolutely perfect. We were able to come in from the beach, shower, and walk to any of the stores, restaurants and bars within a very few minutes without having to worry about driving or hiring a taxi. The pool was gorgeous and the perfect place to watch the children play, or just sit and relax with a cold drink after a great day on the beach. The beautiful, well equipped kitchen and the washer and dryer in each unit were great . Everything we could have possibly needed was available to us and the agent on sight, Rachelle was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Everyone from taxi drivers, waitresses, bartenders, and grocery store personnel were extremely friendly and kind. Anyone wanting to stay in your condo in the future would find that they have chosen the perfect place to stay in St. John USVI. It was wonderful watching my grown children laughing and playing with their children. I can still hear the giggles of my granddaughters as they played in the waves of the many beautiful St. John beaches for hours. One of our favorite places was Solomon Beach. We were able to walk from the condo on a short 20 minute hike to this beach. The beaches at St. John are all different with their own special characteristics. The water was so clear it was like looking through glass. We loved the far, right side of Leinster Bay. We saw lots of turtles and starfish and the reef was teaming with beautiful coral, sea fans, and every kind of fish imaginable. Trunk Bay was a favorite for its shear beauty. Thank you again for everything. You were so helpful in accommodating our special circumstances and providing us with so much helpful information about the island. We can never thank you enough for helping make this trip a huge success. We have hundreds of great pictures to remind us of this special family time that we all shared. Outstanding Location

We rented the one bedroom with studio Dec 30, 2010 through Jan 6, 2010. Grande Bay is an outstanding location and these units were on the second floor with a great view of Cruz Bay and the town. Literally 2 mins walking to town. The unit was very nice, great beds, kitchen well equipped, good TVs which is very important to a family of SEC football fans during bowl week! The Obbagy's had just hired an on island manager for the unit, cannot remember her name but she was great. We got in about 6 hours late, fortunately made the last ferry from Red Hook that night and thankfully she was at the ferry to pick us up, about midnight! The ferry is within walking distance but after having sat in airports all day long and having luggage, it was very nice to see her there waiting on us. There was also a welcome basket waiting on us at the condo, the rum was most appreciated after 6 hours of delay on our flight. The only recommendation would be the units needed patio furniture. They have a lovely view, can watch the foot traffic below but needed something to sit on and set food/drinks. The manager said she was going to recommend this to the owners, it may have been taken care of by now. There were beach chairs and rolling coolers. She also made sure we had a parking spot, said there wasn't supposed to be one? The parking garage is very handy as we still rented a jeep to be able to drive to the other side of the island and beaches farther away. The parking garage is gated but has a keyless entry for security, very nice. Very nice to be able to walk to town to shop, eat, go to the bars when some of our party preferred to stay at the condo and watch a bowl game. With the one improvement would recommend this unit and would stay here again. Owner was very easy to deal with.

My husband and I recently returned to St John where we were married 26 years ago, with our 2 daughters ages 22 and 24. After much research we decided to stay at Grande Bay in this condo. What a great choice! We were met at the dock by Kay, who was lots of fun and gave us a great orientation to St John. We even had groceries in the frig upon arrival! The condo has two sides- my kids were on one side, and we had the privacy of being on the other. Each side was fully stocked with everything we needed, and there were grocery stores nearby. The decor is classy and fun, and the location can't be beat. Sitting on the balcony in the morning watching the boats was a real highlight. I was concerned that the condo might be noisy due to its location on one of the lower floors, but we didn't hear a thing and being on the second floor was wonderfully convenient. Each side also has its own washer and dryer, and it was really nice to be able to wash our beach towels during our stay. We used the beautiful pool and hot tub, with easy access to both from the condo. The town of Cruz Bay has lots to offer, and has a real "local" feel. We chose not to rent a car, and it was an easy walk to the cabs to go anywhere on the island. At night, having our choice of lots of restaurants and bars was really great. My girls sometimes stayed out a little later, and we felt very safe having them walk around at night. We considered staying at a resort and are so glad we opted to stay here instead. The owner, Christine, was very easy to work with and the whole experience of working with her made our trip that much better. There are so many choices of where to stay on St John, but this condo was absolutely perfect for us and we can't wait to come back!

I have been staying at Grande Bay since it opened. Grand Bay is a wonderful resort with a great location. This apartment is in the lower building with a great deck overlooking the water. Not only is this apartment great-- but the owner is very accommodating and responsive. The woman who picks you up at the dock is also very helpful. The apartment had everything we needed and was very clean. I would definitely suggest this rental.

GREAT LOCATION

Grande Bay is in town and across from the Caribbean. It is brand new and this unit was nicely furnished, located on the 2nd floor with great views. Friends rented the studio unit which made for a pleasant experience. Walk or take a taxi...don't bother renting a car. Parking is at a premium...but if you do there is a space for you at Grande Bay. We stayed there a month and enjoyed it all. Hopefully, will do it again.

Grande Bay Condo

We stayed here for a little over two weeks and loved it. The condo is in a great location. We walked everywhere, shops, restauarants, the beach, etc. We were within walking distance from the ferry so it was very convenient when we arrived and left. The Grande Bay is a beautiful place. It has a great pool and fitness center and the people are very nice and helpful. The apt. we stayed in was very nicely decorated and very clean. We had all the conveniences of home. We loved sitting on the balcony in the morning facing the water and watching the boats go by. It was like being in paradise. We would definitely recommend this condo to others. The owner was very nice to work with.
