The Maui Kai Property is the closest building to the ocean on the North Kaanapali Beach of West Maui. The Condo is far enough north to allow for the gentle trade winds to positively effect the climate but not too far North to get in the heavy winds and rain associated with the Kapalua area. Our one bedroom condo is located in the middle portion of the building which is completely private, no other condo is able to see inside our unit. The views from our lanai are of the ocean and the two islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i, it is so soothing that you could spend the whole day and night sitting there. Many days in the winter you can see the mother humpback whales teaching and playing with their babies, or turtles bobbing out in the water and monk seals who come up on the beach for a nap. The music of the waves out in the ocean is a great sleeping machine. We are far enough away from the main road so you don't hear the traffic noise and close enough to walk to a farmer's market, grocery, gift shops, and restaurants. If you want to walk the beach or go swimming in the ocean, you are an elevator ride and a few steps out the back of the complex away. If our building was any closer to the ocean we would have to register it as a cruise ship.

Why the Owner Chose Maui Kai
We purchased our original Maui Kai condo for us to get away from the cold weather at home during the winter. Our second Maui Kai unit that we are renting with VRBO was purchased for rental income and space for our kids to join us for short periods of time. We stay in our first condo at the Maui Kai for 4-5 months each year. The rental unit is available all year long for rental.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
The Maui Kai complex with it's small size (79 units) and great amenities is best suited for someone wanting a great ocean front location with things and furniture just like home. We love being able to go to the pool and sometimes find we are the only ones there and other times there are a dozen or so guests or owners there to mingle with. The atmosphere at the Maui Kai can best be described as your home away from home with the grills, pool, hot tub, ping-pong table and full kitchen cabana for small parties all taken care of by others for our enjoyment.

We are a couple from Illinois who fell in love with Maui around 1990. We planned to come to Maui every 3 years or so, but after the first couple of years we reconsidered and came back every year. We found Maui Kai after a few visits and loved it's homey feel, being so close to the ocean, so we ended up buying here. Now we cannot think about going anywhere else, every time we get off the plane we have to pinch ourselves because this island of Maui is so beautiful. Our picture was taken on the lanai with the island of Moloka'i in the background. Note the kite surfer's kite over my wife's right shoulder.
