We love to come to the Cape after the tourists leave and spend some quality time. Our family loved the house and especially loved all the amenities. The house comes stocked with everything you can imagine. You absolutely can't beat the location as it's very close to the beach. Our kids made the walk in under 6 minutes. The rooms are good size and all have different themes. My son loved the Autograph room as he's a big sports fan. All and all we'd highly recommend it for families as it has 4 bedrooms. The owner responds very quickly to emails and follows up super fast.
Owner response:I'm glad you had fun! We look forward to having you back next year :)

We rented the Salty Shack because of it's location to the beach and the fact that we could walk everywhere. Upon arrival we were greeted by the property manager Margaret (sweet English woman) who is wonderful. She took us through the house and explained how things worked. The house is very big for a rental. The furniture is modern and looks new, they have two leather sofas for plenty of seating. There's a huge plasma TV in the living room which is great for the family. We wish we had a kitchen as nice as theirs :) beautiful granite counter tops but our favorite was the breakfast bar seating area. What surprised us the most was the fact that the house had literally everything you could imagine. They provide all the utensils, towels, sheets, beach chairs etc. so you really don't have to bring anything. And we didn't have to wash any towels or sheets when we left which was a relief. During our stay we had to call the property manager once because the internet went down but she called the internet company and it was back working within 2 hours. Other than that we loved the house :) While you're there you must try a couple of restaurants. We loved Embargo and the Brazillian Grill!
Owner response:Thanks so much, we're glad you had a great time. Please visit us again. Scott and Nicci

This house is NOT a luxury rental. The pictures are deceiving. In fact, my husband and I nearly fell over when we arrived to this shabby and dirty house. The first thing you will notice is the disgusting dirty stairway carpeting. You will also notice that the livingroom and diningroom furniture is entirely too big for the space and moving around is difficult (something to keep in mind if you have small children). The upstairs window air conditioning units are old and moldy and we were not able to operate the microwave and the downstairs window AC simultaneously without blowing a fuse. You will need to wear flip flops to take a shower in both the upstairs bathtub and downstairs shower, as they are both moldy, rusty and just plain groce. Finally, take a look inside the dryer. You will not believe your eyes. If you truly want a "luxury" experience, you will be disappointed with this rental.
Owner response:My wife Nicci and I have been renting the Salty Shack for over 3 years now and you will see by all the other reviews that people are very happy. Also if you book we encourage you to read our guest book full of wonderful handwritten compliments. As with any review you must take them with a grain of salt and ask yourself why someone would write something like "the furniture is too big"? And the answer is simple; some people no matter what cannot be satisfied. This is one of those rare instances as this is our FIRST negative review. The entire house has beautiful hardwood floors with the exception of the stairs leading to upstairs because we don't want people to slip. The carpeting is 2.5 years old and in fine condition. Again no one has ever expressed a concern over the 12 steps that are carpeted. The upstairs AC in the master bedroom is brand new and the second bedroom upstairs the AC is 2 years old. No one has ever complained of mold and there is certainly no mold in the house. The house has to pass a vigorous inspection from the board of health every year. In fact the board of health inspected the house in May 2011. The upstairs shower has brand new glass doors, replaced in May 2011 and is spotless. There is absolutely no rust or mold as she suggested. In fact my wife and I stayed in the house and took flip flop free showers from August 31-September 17th 2011 and absolutely enjoyed our visit to Cape Cod. We use one of if not the finest cleaning companies in Cape Cod. They work meticulously each and every check in and have NEVER received a complaint. I'm sorry Jennifer D did not enjoy her stay. If she had contacted me about any of these issues I would have certainly addressed her concerns immediately. But this is the first I'm hearing of anything and she wrote this review October 26th 2011 some 2 months after her stay. If her stay was as bad as she claims I'm sure she would have been motivated to write her review while it was still fresh in her mind immediately. Her security deposit was refunded within one week. Be certain that your stay at Salty Shack will be everything you imagine. We have a $10,000 home theatre system, WiFi a brand new $30,000 modern kitchen with breakfast bar, flat screen TV’s in every room, washer/dryer, dishwasher, the works :) Best of all is the 4 minute walk to Sea Street beach and the 10 minute walk to Main Street Hyannis. Book with confidence :)

Scott, we had a very nice holiday and Salty Shack was a great place to go back to at night. One thing that I noticed that may cause you some problems down the road is the water control knob cover in the main floor washroom shower has a big gap between the knob cover and the shower stall wall; this may cause water ingress . all it really needs is good size sealant bead around the edge.
