A stay at the McKobishak will allow you to unwind, renew and relax. Enjoy your days lazily on the beautiful beach, sunbathing by the pool or resting in the shade of the tiki bar. Or try one of the several nature hikes through the neighboring Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge. Don't worry if you choose a difficult hike because once you return to your home away from home, you can soothe your aching muscles in the outdoor hot tub. If you love history, a 4 mile drive west leads you to historic Fort Morgan. There you can catch the Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island where you can visit the Sea Lab and Fort Gaines, or if you're lucky enough to visit in April, you can watch the largest single day sailing regatta which starts at Dauphin Island. Maybe you'll even find yourself part of the sailing crew! Ahoy! From Dauphin Island, you're just a short drive to Mobile with it's historic USS Battleship, Aviation Museum and boundless restaurants and theatres. Heading 14 miles east on quiet Fort Morgan Road is a lovely drive where you're sure to find yourself feeling as if you're in a movie that details the charm of the south. This beautiful road will take you into the heart of Gulf Shores for shopping, amusement parks, movie theatres, nightlife, restaurants, mini golf. Our quiet, single family home is formally 3BR/2BA but we have designed the 3rd bedroom to be a playroom/den with a pull out queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv, dvd and Playstation2. Don't forget to bring your rainy day games, just in case! As you can see whatever your life style is, from nature enthusiast to history buff, from shopper to golfer or sailor, you will have endless choices of activities or leisure when you stay at the McKobishak!

We had the best relaxing trip ever. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. When we went to the beach accross the street, it was gorgeous with hardly anyone there. It felt very private. I would suggest this place to anyone who wants to get away from all the high traffic beaches and find some solitude. The house was sooooo clean and comfortable. We didn't want to leave. We are already planning our next trip back to this little slice of paradise. The owner, Mary, was so helpful and prompt with returning calls and e-mails. Don't miss the Royal Reds at Tacky Jack's right down the street. They were the best in town.

We just returned from our Ft. Morgan vacation and Mary was so accommodating from the moment we made reservations. I can't say enough about how kind and helpful she is. The house was so cute and immaculate. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was perfect for my family. The quick drive over to the beach (we drove only because we have a small child) was easy and we could leave our things there without worry until we came back the next day. The pool was a quick walk from the house and also very nice after a sandy day at the beach!

My family stayed here June 2011 and had a wonderful time! Mary was so nice to work with. Was a little skeptical about not staying right on the beach, but am happy to report it was a great experience having a private house vs a condo, and this house is at the back of the community, therefore there was noone walking by at all. Very private! We left stuff at the beach all week with no trouble, and just drove there daily to enjoy. Very few people there made it a much more enjoyable vacation--so relaxing! The house is very spacious and feels like home, and the pool was wonderful, and also very few people most of the time. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything!

What a beautiful , wonderful place to spend a vacation. I plan to return every year. A wonderful plase for families. Accurate description of location. Photos accurate about appearance and amenities, was very clean and well maintained. Owner very helpful in answering question and I had no concerns. I have told all of my family and friends about this wonderful place. We stayed on the property most of the time. When we did go out we found plenty of shopping places ( Wal Mart) of course. We ate at a wonderful Mexican restaurant ,but I don't remember the name.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+.

We have stayed here a few times and love it! The owners are super friendly and are always willing to work with you on any changes you need to make to your stay. It's really quiet and comfortable. It feels like being at home!
