From the moment you enter the driveway, you begin to understand the meaning of serenity. As you open the door of the chalet, tucked away on the mountain, sunlight from the wall of windows draws you.
When you look out, all you can see are miles of mountains and fields. You turn around and the cozy feeling of the living room invites you to sit down and enjoy the surroundings.
The outside world seems miles away...you can take that much needed time to relax...reconnect with yourself, your family and nature.
The Chalet offers 2 ponds, a one-acre pond located in front of the house is visible from the living room. It is about 20 feet deep which is great for swimming, ice skating or build a fire in the fire pit and watch the sunset. The second pond is located just behind the house and provides picnic tables, a fire pit, benches along the shore line, catch & release fishing and a seasonal waterfall. What a great place for your family to spend countless hours enjoying the outdoors.

We reserved the cabin for Thanksgiving and we were very pleased with the cabin and location. Excluding the freezing rain and snow, this place was awesome. We had to call the owners for assistance to get to the cabin as the bad weather and our highway tires could not maneuver the snow packed road approaching the cabin. The owners were great. They came out late at night and towed us to the cabin. It was all well worth it once we got there. The views from the cabin are awesome and everything inside was perfect including the seasonal decorations. We took daily walks on the property trails and found something new everyday. We also saw from the cabin white tail deer, bear, turkey, numerous birds plus lots of frozen rain on all the vegetation. The gas burning stove kept my mom nice and warm. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner here and the kitchen was equipped with all cooking utensils and cookware needed. This is a great place to escape ones busy life and relax. Thanks for sharing your wonderful property.

My wife and I took our 3 month old daughter to the Chalet for a weekend and it was amazing. We spent most of the weekend outside enjoying the fresh air and the peace and quiet. It was a nice cool weekend for late August and the weather was perfect. We didn't even need the air conditioning with the windows open and the breeze blowing through. We saw several deer early one morning on the hill down to the swimming pond as well as a large heron or crane sitting on the dock. The chalet has everything you need and it was very nice and very clean. We can't wait until our next visit and I have recommended it to several friends and family members. Thanks again!

Beautiful, perfect getaway!
We loved everything about our stay! The chalet was spotless and had everything we needed. The views were gorgeous and we had fun building campfires and walking around the trails and ponds. Also caught some fish! We saw lots of wildlife and it was a peaceful respite from the normal busy life. loved the hammock as well! thank you Sonya!

Our stay was FANTASTIC.!! The home was exceptionally clean and well maintained.!! The grounds were spacious and beautiful!! We came up for a quick family getaway and the family time was perfect with the fire going in the living room and the coziness of watching a movie late at night while it was still very cold outside. Still had snow on the property and the kids (along with their Dad) went sledding down the driveway. haha Unexpected but soooooo fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We put on the snowpants and actually went on a great hike right on the property. Went into town(Wellboro) sooo cute and quaint and also bundled up and saw the winter view of the Pa Grand Canyon.. Definitely want to make another trip soon(maybe in the warmer weather) so we can also experience the bike riding trails etc. that Wellsboro has to offer and the swimming hole on the property itself. Cant say enough good things about the place but just know that I (and the family) highly recommend a stay at this lovely home. Keep in mind it does have only one bathroom which at times posed a challenge: however, the four of us made it work and it really was no problem at all.!! My husband and I can absolutely see ourselves relocating to an area like this and staying here gave us a glimpse of how lovely that would truly be. Thanks for a great stay!!!

My husband and I and our dogs have be coming to the Chalet for over seven years now, so I feel that qualifies me to leave a full review. As mentioned we have been coming to the Chalet for awhile, sometimes two and three times per year! Why wouldn't we try another place? Where do I begin? We return because even though we always thought the Chalet was perfect from the first time, the owners continue to blow us away with their constant improvements and betterments. The love and pride they have for their home is evident everywhere. From the immaculate and tastefully decorated interior to the manicured trails in the meadow and up on the mountain. Trees are always coming down and the family works hard to keep the trials cleared for our hiking pleasure. In Summer the flower beds are alive with color as well as the ponds with the many beautiful water lillies. Autumn is spectacular with stunning views from the living room windows. Winter is my personal favorite. There is usually snow and sledding and hiking in it is awesome. I find it hard to tear myself away from the wondow lest I miss some wonder of nature taking place! We've seen a Bobcat hunting , deer, turkey, hawks and some beautiful ducks on the pond. Upon your arrival you will walk into an immaculate and sweet smelling home. The beautiful floors will be shining as they reflect the light from the wall of windows and a welcome light will always be on for you. My husband and I and our dogs highly recommend the Chalet for anyone seeking to reconnect with nature and unwind in the quiet beauty and tranquil atmosphere of the Chalet.

We had a lovely reunion with friends. Our kids loved sleeping and playing together in the upstairs room with bunk beds. The views of snowy hills are gorgeous. We also enjoyed the fire pit and sledding around the property.

After 10 years, the chalet is very much a second home for myself, my mother and my aunt. It has always been clean and ready and pet friendly for my Irish Wolfhound. The privacy and quiet were always welcome. Everything has always been in great shape. The new floors were great as were the new couches. The last several years with the washer and dryer was also an added bonus. After ten years, I'm retiring to Potter county so will be living in the area. I have to admit to a lump in the throat and tears in my eyes when I left the Chalet for the last time this past October. I really was leaving home.......... Recommend the Log Cabin Inn for a great dinner and George's in Wellsboro for scrapple with your breakfast. Also great meats and cheese and whoopie pies at the Stoney Fork General Store.

The chalet was so quaint and comfortable! The best part were the grounds. There are so many trails and the pond is wonderful for swimming. The location is excellent for touring the area. We went into Wellsboro and the PA Grand Canyon. The property was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property. We just came back and I already booked us for next year!! Loved It!!

We totally enjoyed our stay. The inside of the Chalet and the outside was beautiful. It was well decorated and furnished nicely. Just about everything you could want was provided. We spent most of the daytime outside. Every evening we made a fire in the upper pit and made smores and mountain pies. In the morning we would set by the upper pond and read and have coffee and just relax. We fished in the lower pond several times and caught quite a few bass. Both daughters caught a nice bass 18" long and about 4 pounds. We rafted in the lower pond also which was very relaxing. We also witnessed a garter snake catch and swollow a young bull frog. I hiked the red and blue trails up through the woods and saw several deer and grouse. Sunday morning before we left I saw a mink hunting bull frogs along the shore of the upper pond. The girls went for a run on Saturday morning down the Township road. We all enjoyed the solitude and peacefullness of the Chalet's location. All in attendence talked about coming back next year if we can pick a weekend that we all can come. If you want some suggestions on making your place even better, here they are. As far as the inside, the only suggestions are. 1.) It was a very hot weekend in the 90's. If there were a couple of floor fans available to help circulate the air from the rooms with air conditioners to the living area would be nice. 2.) Local channels on the TV to catch the news and weather. Normally we would not care about that but the weekend we stayed the Olympics were on NBC and we could not watch them. As far as outside. 1.) The gas grill is not in working condition. We had planned on cooking out every day and were unable to do so. 2.) The hiking trails up through the woods in some areas trees were down over them and weeds were waist high which kept the girls from using them. 3.) Maybe cut some of the trees down so you can see more of the landscape from the view of the living room down to the pond and beyond. Thank you for sharing your hideaway with us. The only real negative about the trip was that it was to short and went to fast. If we come back I hope to rent it for a longer time. Thanks again.
