If you want to go out and just get out from it all this is the house for you. Property Huge!!. House sits far away from the road, Its so quiet that if you come from the city you feel your ears ringing, I stayed for the weekend and i only saw one car pass by. Its about 15 minutes to Wellsboro depends how you drive, City is nice, lots of restaurants stores, whatever you need you will find it there. Property awsome for hiking since it sits on the hill. 4 wheel drive recommended in the winter tho. Very nice owners, my friend left a jacket with 200$ in his wallet, I got the jacket in 2 days with the money inside, Suprised!! :), Lots of games to play and 2 little ponds outside, witch is great for the summer and also winter if you know how to ice skate. We had a great time. Thank You and we sure will rent again in the summer. Thank You

The cabin is exceptionally clean & well stocked. It has all the comforts of home! Our kids enjoyed being on vacation, but not completely out of touch. (Yay for Satellite TV & WiFi!) The property is beautiful and we enjoyed spending lots of quiet time relaxing by the ponds & observing all of the wonders of nature. We also did some horseback riding & hiking. It was a perfectly restful vacation!

We loved the wooded quietness, the view from the livingroom, the seclusion, the fire pit, and the pond. Over the weekend, we found it very easy to drive back and forth between Stony Fork Campground--the venue of the bluegrass festival Hickory Fest--and the chalet. Saturday night we left the festival before it was over, made a fire in the fire pit, and could hear bluegrass music wafting through the hills from the campground. We also took a long walk up the hill on Rattler Road Saturday morning--saw one car in an hour--then took a refreshing dip in the pond after, to cool off. I'd recommend the chalet to anyone. Only problem was with the outside gas grill; we couldn't get it to work properly.

The Chalet was beautiful. The owners thought of everything for any age group. We went as a family in celebration of our 25th. including a 4 month old, and dog. We had so much fun, fishing swimming, relaxing. The property was clean and well maintained. The owners took time with any questions we had. We decided all of us would make another trip in 5 years (although my husband and I may be back much sooner). We went to the canyon, into Wellsboro to shop, and to the Log Cabin Inn for a fabulous dinner. But the best part of all was just staying on the property, enjoying the view, the food cooked on the fire, and each other. Couldn't ask for a better week. Thank you for such a nice home away from home!

This was our first trip to the area and we instantly felt relaxed and at home. Our two little dogs smiled the entire trip and never ventured out of our site. My son can't wait to return and I never heard I'm bored. Views are spectacular & the ponds were entertaining. The owners thought of everything, the cabin is very clean and cozy.

The chalet was everything we hoped for & more. Clean, comfortable & inviting with every need thoughtfully taken care of by the owners. We enjoyed snowy views over endless countryside during our stay 3/11/2011 thru 3/18/2011 just the perfect place for us to relax & unwind. There’s plenty to do & see locally in Wellsboro & the Grand Canyon area. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Log Cabin on Route 6 & our trips to Corning & Watkins Glen all made for a perfect week. We will definitely return in the future & highly recommended the chalet.

My family hadn't had our annual vacation so we booked this gorgeous cabin 2/18/11-2/20/11 We arrived to an immaculate cabin secluded amongst the woods. This super cozy cabin had all the comforts of home and came furnished with all the necessities for our family of 6 but most importantly carried the essentials needed for our 18 mth old granddaughter! The scenery was breathtaking and we especially enjoyed watching the snow fall from the view out the living room windows!! Everything was perfect! Thank you Sonya for the information on Ski SawMill and making us so comfortable and aquainted with the area and things to do. It was a vacation we will treasure and we look forward to returning to your little paradise soon.

My family and I stayed at the Chalet 12/3-12/5/10 to visit Wellsboro during their "Dickens of a Christmas" festival. There were 8 adults and my 9 month old son. We absolutely LOVED the chalet. It was secluded amongst 76 acres of land and it was beautiful especially in a few inches of snow! The property was beautifully kept and the cabin itself was very clean and inviting. If we return to Wellsboro we will be staying at the Chalet again. Thanks Kim & Sonya!

This was the second stay at "Amidst the Mountains" Chalet and remains our favorite cabin rental. There is so much to see in the area if you are an outdoors type person. The PA Grand Canyon, Rail Trail along Pine Creek, Tioga-Hammond Lakes, Hills Creek Lake, Corning Museum, quaint town of Wellsboro, PA, general stores, horseback riding, a tour through the canyon and just hanging around the Chalet. If you enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and endless mountains, this is the place to be. The Chalet is absolutely beautiful and CLEAN. There is the fishing pong, along with the swimming (and fishing) pond, hiking, animal and star gazing, relaxing and just vegging out. It is perfect for families, couples and the dogs love it:) From the beginner to the experienced fisherman, everyone will have fun. A definite must for anyone who loves the outdoors.

My husband and I had an amazing time at the Chalet. The pictures do not do it justice!!! It was soooo clean and felt like home. The view was amazing! You are totally secluded, but not far from the quaint town of Wellsboro or the PA Grand Canyon. I would recommend the Chalet to everyone! Erika Campbell Ephrata, PA

The cabin was perfect!! Clean, well taken care of, and has everything you could ask for when taking young kids for a long weekend. The weather was terrible, but we still had a blast. When you can't go outside because it is cold and rainy, and your 5 & 2 year olds do not get bored, you know you found the perfect spot! We will return without a doubt! Thank you for everything!

The Chalet is as good as it gets- the creme de la creme of vacation rentals! Peaceful and quiet and beautiful inside and out! The perfect place to get away from the rest of the world. Tastefully decorated and always clean and inviting. You'll never want to leave.

My family stayed at the Chalet in July 2008. This was without a doubt the best family vacation we ever had together! We did things at the PA canyon, biked, hiked, went horse back riding and stayed at the chalet and enjoyed the pond! What a beautiful place! My puppies even enjoyed their vacation. We will be back again and again and again!!!
