Location: Cambridge, Maryland, USA
Accommodations: Farm House, 4 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Leave the 21st century behind! This rustic country 19th farmhouse is a relaxing getaway for friends or a small family. Situated on 10 acres of raw natural beauty, you will enjoy the tranquil setting and spectacular waterfront views. You’ll find an abundance of wildlife in their natural habitats throughout the property. For the sport enthusiast enjoy fishing, crabbing, boating, kayaking and canoeing all in your own back yard. Bring your own boats/gear. Even explore nearby islands and experience some of the best fishing and crabbing that the Chesapeake Bay has to offer. Charter fishing or a skipjack sail is locally available. Our shoreline attracts an amazing variety of resident waterfowl - white and blue herons, egrets, swans, ducks, ospreys and bald eagles. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of our otter. Day trips to Ocean City or Assateague Island to see the ponies are about a 60-minute drive!
Early risers will enjoy coffee and the sunrise from the screened in East Porch. In season, visitors will spend time on the West porch – perfect for reading, rocking, gliding and eating (seating for 6-8) with a magnificent water and sunset view. Off-season, curl up in the Snuggery with wood paneling and wood-burning fire to watch an old movie or devour a good book. Step back in time in the Great Room. Every room (except the sleeping porch) offers expansive views of the ample waterfront, wildlife, and sunsets.
The area is perfect for exploring by bike, with many roads featuring bike lanes. The property is close to Spocott Windmill, the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, historic underground railroad sites and the Hyatt's new Golf and Boating resort in Cambridge, Maryland. Explore historic Easton, St. Michael's, and Oxford, Maryland all close by.
The property includes a variety of breakable family heirlooms to enhance your experience. The second floor is accessible via 2 steep turned staircases and a Captain’s ladder. Standard nature and water hazards apply. The property is not appropriate for small children. Pets are welcome with an additional deposit.
