Located on the east side of Boothbay Harbor, our cottage is a charming 100 year old cape that sits in a quiet neighborhood of quaint homes and an art gallery. We are one block up from Atlantic Avenue which winds around the Harbor. One of our favorite restaurants is the Lobsterman's Co-op which is a quick walk from the cottage. There you can dine casually overlooking the harbor which teems with boat activity. Hard working lobster boats move among kayakers and historic Windjammers. If you are looking for more excitement it is only a 10 minute walk down the avenue and over the historic footbridge to town for more restaurant choices, fresh fudge and taffy, great shops and galleries. In the other direction, also within a quick walk, is Lobster Cove where you can take in the gorgeous views of Lineken Bay and go for a swim.
We encourage visitors to explore the Chamber Of Commerce for the extensive sites, events and areas to explore. Boothbay has many wonderful events throughout the season. If you wish to venture away from the Harbor, Mid coast Maine has many state parks, ocean beaches, hikes and historic sites. However, we find there is plenty to explore and experience within minutes of the cottage. We spend a lot of time on the screened in front porch either quietly reading or enjoying lively visits with friends and family.

central heating it is usually not available from Nov-Apr.

Year Purchased: 2004
Three sisters and their husbands, came together to purchase this wonderful cottage to create a warm and happy gathering place for friends and family. We have found that it has been perfect because it is a quick walk over the historic footbridge to town, or through the neighborhood, to Lobster Cove for spectacular views, swimming, kayaking and picnicking. We wanted a cozy place with a spacious back yard to kick back and relax or play outdoor games during gatherings. This quiet neighborhood with the soft sounds of lobster boats starting up in the early morning and church bells in the afternoon is perfect for us. Quiet place to get off the Merry-Go-Round of life for a while.
Why the Owner Chose Boothbay Harbor
We started coming to Boothbay Harbor as children, then developed close long term friendships with "locals". The youngest sister even married a Boothbay Harbor man, and they have raised their two children here. We love Boothbay Harbor for its ocean access, views, restaurants, cultural activities and more. Also for its warm inviting community. Those of us who do not live in BBH use it to "get away", and also get a visit in with our sister who lives here.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We feel the most unique benefits are the quiet setting, the spacious yard and the proximity to the amenities of town. The cottage itself is very comfortable with a large kitchen and a great front enclosed porch, which we enjoy, especially if the weather is inclement. It is well set up for children, yet perfect for adults as well (we have had many a girlfriend get away). We often play games, in the yard, and have outdoor gatherings around the picnic table, most recent being a high school graduation party. We also enjoy the short walk across the bridge for homemade ice cream or dinner out, without having to get in the car!
