Oceanfront, 5 yrs old home in private, treed setting on 5.4 acres (2.2 ha), 8 km from the town of Antigonish. It overlooks islands in a calm and peaceful bay- you need only walk out 50 feet and you are on the shore.
The home was custom built as a walkout with a raised main floor affording beautiful 180 degree views from the vaulted windows and 64 foot deck. The 1270 square foot main floor has an open plan, living room, dining room and kitchen. It also has two bedrooms with two bathrooms, front entry and laundry.
The oceanfront living room is large with vaulted ceilings, oversized windows and a ceiling fan. The dining room faces out to the ocean, opens to the deck and has a dining suite for 6 persons. The kitchen opens to the dining room so you still have a view as you prepare meals. The master bedroom, with queen bed, faces to the ocean (you wake to the rising sun) and opens to the deck. It has dual closets and an en-suite bathroom including oversized shower with seat, and a vanity with two sinks. The second bedroom has two single beds and its' own en-suite bathroom including full tub with shower.
The home accommodates four people on the main floor, is comfortably furnished including all linens. The appliances include fridge with freezer, stove with self cleaning oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a washer and dryer on the main floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with dinnerware, cutlery, coffee maker, blender, toaster, cookware, glassware etc. Television, satellite, stereo, DVD, CD, phone, hairdryers, BBQ and deck furniture are all there for you.

You would find yourself on the "mini Cabot Trail" as highway 337 is fondly known with picturesque fishing wharves. Nearby are numerous hiking trails, ranging from easy to moderate and challenging along streams and through wooded areas. From your deck, you will likely see bald headed eagles which live in the area as well as numerous birds, deer and local wildlife. Sea kayaks are available for rent nearby, you would kayak right out in front of your vacation rental. Boyd's Seafood Galley, located on Cribbon's Wharf is well known for its' seafood in a very pretty setting, overlooking the fishing boats.
The town of Antigonish is home to St Francis Xavier University. The St F X Fitness Centre is open to the public with excellent fitness equipment and pool (including aquasize). There is a highly rated 18 hole golf course, as well as tennis, nice restaurants, live theatre (summer months) and good shopping in a stress free pace of life.
You would be in a central area for touring, about halfway between Halifax and Sydney with access to Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail, historic Louisbourg, Bras d'Or Lakes and numerous golf courses such as the renowned Cape Breton Highlands and Bell Bay. Pictou (45 min) is where the first Scottish settlers arrived on the ship Hector which has been replicated, full scale, at the Pictou waterfront. Near there is one of the largest private collections of Canadian Art at Abercrombie, open free for viewing on Wednesdays in July and August. For those of you who wish to enjoy Nova Scotian music, you will find many céildh's and festivals in the summer and the fall during Celtic Colors.
