Our daughter was married September 17, 2011, at the Ballymeade Country Club in Falmouth. We rented this property from Wednesday to Wednesday. There are no words to describe how perfect this house is for large gatherings. Confortable beds, breathtaking views, books galore, a fireplace that actually works and lovely grounds are just a few of the practical and charming ammenities. We even had a post wedding breakfast for a large crowd. Our guests were thrilled just to see the house, but we were lucky enough to stay in it for a week! The wedding photos, with this backdrop, are spectacular! Many thanks to the Burwell family.

We cannot say enough about Olcottage and the Burwells! We rented the property for our wedding in September and it was simply a dream experience. The house is gorgeous and filled with character not to mention ocean views everywhere you turn. We also held our rehearsal dinner inside the house the night before the wedding and it was the perfect venue for it. Our wedding party stayed with us in the house which made the whole wedding experience last even longer. There were plenty of bedrooms to go around, all with their own charm. The home is kept immaculate and you really can sense all of the love that goes into maintaining this historic home. If you love Cape Cod and are looking for a unique place to stay with your family or host a wedding, Olcottage could not be a better choice. We will remember our time at Olcottage for the rest of our lives.

This home is everything and more! We had a reunion and could not have found a more perfect spot... the location is superb with small children and active adults. Bike path, private beach, toys, a very comfortable home with plenty of space to spread out. The back veranda in early morning and late afternoon is so relaxing and you can't beat the views! The owners make it easy to plan your trip and help with whatever your unique needs might be. We rented the small cottage too for overflow.

We enjoyed a magical week at Olcottage. Down a secluded dirt road, Olcottage is nestled on a bluff above its own private beach – beautiful sand and protected swimming. Our children spent hours searching for sea glass, shells and sand critters and exploring all the many nooks and crannies of this beautiful home. The house has amazing character and history – a unique and memorable way to visit the Cape. The owners went out of their way to help make the week relaxing and carefree. We also can't say enough good things about Linda - she was tremendous in every possible way! We hope to be back soon.

I can't even to put into words how wonderful our experience was for our wedding weekend. We planned our wedding from California and both home owners (Brian and Lee) were beyond accessible and helpful through the entire planning process. We had around 100 guests, ceremony on the bluff over looking the water, cocktail hour on the patio in the in front grand room, ending with a reception tent on the tennis courts. There were so many options for how we could set up our event - we wanted a large tent *60x80) with plenty of room for dancing, so the tennis courts were best for us. Our laid back style, personal atmosphere, and family centered wedding was only added to by both Brian and Lee. They are now an extension of our family. Our entire wedding party stayed in the house with us (total of 20 people) and there was more than enough space (and bathrooms) for us all and everyone felt at home. There was such a rich history with this home and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed learning about it while experiencing the breathtaking views from every room! We can't wait to go back. Thank you for everything Lee and Brian!

What can I say except fabulous! The setting is serene and the home is beautiful. To fall asleep to the ocean lapping gently on shore was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who would enjoy a once in a lifetime vacation experience. Awesome is an understatement.

Absolutely fantastic! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect or beautiful place to have our wedding. We had the ceremony and clambake on the beach, cocktails on the patio and dinner in a tent (85 guests) down on the lawn. With so much space at Olcottage, many of our family and friends were able to come and spend a full week with us, relaxing on the beach, exploring Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard, sharing meals in the beautiful dining room or out on the patio. The house itself is beautiful inside and out - a classic Cape experience. Olcottage was more than just a location for our event, it was an incredibly special place, full of history; we felt like we were home as soon as we walked in the door. The owners were wonderful to work with and an enormous help when it came to finding great local vendors and answering our many questions. We couldn't recommend this place more highly.

My family, as well as my two sisters and their families, stayed here from 8/14-8/21/10. The property is absolutely gorgeous - tastefully decorated - each and every room!! The owners were extremely gracious, helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The kitchen was full of everything you need to prepare any type of meal. The bedrooms were gorgeous and the bathrooms immaculate. There was everything you need for the beach: chairs, umbrellas, toys for children and the outdoor shower was great! The property had ample parking and the terrace was wonderful to sit and watch the sunrise with morning coffee!!!! This vacation was incredible and one we will never forget!

We had a "family reunion" of sorts with 19 people in this lovely home. We really expected to have some of the kids sleeping on the floor but were pleasantly surprised to find everyone had their own bed! I really can not express how lovely this home is! Windows everywhere highlighted the view of the ocean. What I loved the most was how set up the house was for a large group! Sometimes rental properties say they can house 20 people but the kids end up on the floor, there is never enough silverware or cooking supplies. This is not the case at Olcottage! We found everything you could need to cook for 20 people - including supplies for a huge lobster dinner - and plenty of bathrooms to boot! The location is wonderful, as well, we walked to the ferry at Woods Hole, the private beach is perfect for everyone to hang out, we found getting groceries no problem and the path behind the house afforded many walks. If you are looking for a perfect place to house a large group, you have found it in Olcottage!

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by having our 4 children and 7 grandkids join us at Olcottage. We all had a wonderful time. The sense of history and family permeates this special house, which is a mix of the old and the modern, where appropriate. As we are all folks who enjoy cooking, it was a pleasant surprise to find the charming old klitchen and pantry so well equipped with multiple refrigerators and a great new range, as well as an outdoor barbeque grill. It seemed that whatever item we needed, we would find if we looked hard enough. All paraphernalia for the beach was there ... plenty of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys and boogie boards. In addition there is a beautiful, flat grassy area (previously a tennis court) that was great for croquet and lawn games. Trips into either Falmouth or Woods Hole (by foot, bike, or car) were very easy, with good grocery shopping and restaurants in Falmouth and a great bakery in Woods Hole. There's a bike trail adjacent to the property. A great day trip is to take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard from Woods Hole, and both young and old enjoyed and learned from the Ocean Quest discovery cruise out of Woods Hole. The catering company, Eat Your Heart Out, provided us with an excellent clambake. We can't imagine any place that could have accommodated our family more comfortably, from the great room to the sunporch to the beach RIGHT THERE. Owners were a pleasure to work with and enhanced our stay.

Our first visit to Cape Cod was extraordinary staying at Olcottage !!! We came for a family reunion and the house had everything we could possibly need from spacious bedrooms and living areas, to amazing views and even beach toys/playroom for the kids. There was something for all ages in this house. The house itself was incredible and we were all in awe of the family history of this home and area. The beach was private and it was easy and fun to drive into either town of Falmouth or Woods Hole for yummy seafood or a trip to the lighthouse. The owners were very accomodating and are on site for anything you could possibly need. I would highly recommend this house to anyone travelling in a large group that enjoys the convenience of town or just wanting to relax on the porch or beach with a panoramic view of the ocean and Martha's Vineyard...we are already planning our return. Thank you to the family for making our stay an unforgettable one!

The property was just as listed. It was clean and well maintained. We were provided adequate linens and towels. Also had a washer and dryer available. There were bedrooms to fit each age group and many bathrooms. Always a plus. The photos give an accurate picture of the house and surrounding grounds. Would definitely recommend this location for anyone with a big family. Big enough to allow individual privacy and small enough for everyone to get together when they wanted to.
