My family really enjoyed our stay at the Owl's Nest. Everything was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. For us we liked that it was located close enough to the Sports Center and that it is in the wooded area and not real close to the cabins around it. We enjoyed the indoor pool. At the cabin having the hot tub and just sitting on the deck watching the deer and listening to the birds sing was fantastic. Peaceful, quiet, enjoyable. Just what we all needed. Owner very helpful and very prompt and very easy to work with. We thank you for allowing us to bring our pet. Our pet is part of our family and we dont go without her. So nice that you allow them at the cabin. We appreciate that. We will definately be back for another stay. We recommend this property to anyone wishing to have a peaceful getaway to enjoy nature and relax in the hot tub.

Thankgiving retreat

Owl's nest is lovely. It's very cozy in a beautiful setting. We saw huge herds of deer just wandering through the area. We had heard there were also large groups of wild turkeys that would often wander through the area but perhaps they were hiding for the Thanksgiving weekend (smart turkeys!). The fireplace added to the coziness. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was an amazing experience! It was a short drive to Berkeley Springs as well as the quaint town of Hedgesville. Wonderful landscape. PLUS Comcast On Demand! The best of all worlds.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a cozy, little romantic get away - just needed some time away from the city, and and came across The Owl's Nest. Everything about the trip was wonderful. The cottage was awesome! Hot tub was GREAT, fire place was great, the cottage had everything we could possibly need. Everything was clean when we arrived. The owners were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed - especially patient, considering it took us almost a week or so to set up our payment, etc. lol. And our children (our two dogs) enjoyed the woods, and sitting in front of the fireplace very much! This vacation will be held very near and dear to our hearts - we had a great time.

Owl's Nest

What a charming and cozy cottage. The cottage was clean and had just about everything that was needed. It was the first time we were able to take the dogs with us so it was a great experience for them. Saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the long walks and Sleepy Creek. Will be back next year.

Our stay at the Owl's Nest was fantastic. The cottage was perfect for us. We had two couples getting away from the kids for the weekend and had a fantastic time. Perfect set up and the hot tub was incredible. Definetely would recondmend.

The Owls Nest was great. Couldn't get enough of the hot tub. The cabin was beautiful and really felt like home. The area outside was just beautiful. Will definiteley make our way back for another stay. Thanks Rance it was awesome.

Great Honeymoon Getaway

The photos and descriptions were very accurate. It was a very clean, well-maintained cottage. Fully stocked wtih kitchenware. We really did enjoy our stay. Rance was very helpful in answering all my questions. We did visit Berkeley Springs and perused some antique shops. We heard the Panorama restaurant was good but it was only open Thursday thru Sunday. We would definitely stay here again.

A little slice of relaxation

My fiance' and I were able to book the cottage with no problems. The description was spot on as were the other reviews listed here. It was clean, well furnished, and had a nice little get-away feel. All kitchenware was supplied and made the stay that much easier, you just need to bring yourself and food. The local attractions are nice as well. The spa in Berkeley springs was a great way to spend and afternoon and the Cacapon Forest makes for a great place to spend an afternoon exploring the back country. The restaurants are also fantastic, you can have any cuisine you wish and there are places to fit anyone's budget.

Great Place - Would Recommend and Return

Great cabin, love the fire place and the hot tub. The policies for this cabin are wonderful - the pet fee and and the cleaning fee are truly reasonable. The owner is extremely friendly and works with the renter on any and all issues. During our stay, the hot tub stopped working, and although we were disappointed, the owner did his best to resolve the issue immediately, and gave us a break on the rental fee in response to the problem. The deposit we sent was returned in a timely fashion. Overall, we had a very good experience and would return.

Very Relaxing

The cabin was great. We spent the weekend relaxing by the fire and sitting in the hot tub. It's within 20 minutes or so of Berkeley Springs, which made for a nice night out. The Woods Resort looks like a fun place to be in the summer, as there are numerous outdoor activities, but during the winter the cabin is just right for relaxing. It would comfortably fit 2 adults with children or 2 couples. The cabin was easy to get to but still felt very private.

Was exactly what we were looking for - somewhere in the Berkeley Springs area that was affordable for 2 couples. Hot tub was nice. Hard to watch TV as a group with small couch and 1 chair but fireplace made it cozy.

My financee and I spent new year's eve at the cottage so we could relax from the holiday stress. The Owl's Nest was the perfect quiet getaway we were looking for. The cottage was very clean and the hot tub and fireplace were fabulous. We went to one of the spas in Berkley Springs and that was terrific as well. We had a wonderful time at the Owls Next. The hot tub and fireplace were wonderful assets and the proximity to Berkley Springs and resort ammenities were helpful. The cabin wasn't in quite as secluded a location as I had hoped, but we weren't on top of the neighbors either. All in all - lovely!

Romantic and cozy... a little something special

Rance (the owner), easily the most pleasant person I have ever dealt with while renting a vacation home, was more than accomidating. The house was extreamly clean and comfortable. My husband and I went for a quick romantic weekend retreat, we loved it. The hot tub and fireplace added a little something special to our time away. The area is fantastic with a great little restaurant not even a mile away at Walton's at The Woods ( saturday night primerib fantastic!) Wonderful views on the drive, at the house and the restaurant. We will be back and recommend this property to anyone looking for a quick relaxing getaway! Thanks for everything!

Peace of heaven

The property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend the Cozy Cottage to friends. The area is peaceful and very relaxing. We enjoyed tubing the Shenandoah River, having drinks and relaxing in the hot tub, we ate every meal outside on the deck and spent some time at the pool. The only downfall is that we did not have enough time to do some of the other things we wanted, oh well I guess we will just have to go back.

Great location and peaceful grounds. Cabin is perfect setting for some peace and quiet. Didn't get to use amenities but they seemed promising. Not luxurious but that's what the Hilton is for. Several steps ups from my cabin in GA with hand pump at bottom of hill for water. This has drinkable running water. I'd recommend for a welcome change from hotels/motels.

Loved the Woods Resort

The Woods Resort was lovely. the shared pool was a great perk. the pool and spa staff were very helpful and friendly. The Owl's nest is a nice getaway. We enjoyed the lights in the hot tub, and the bedrooms and bathroom were adequate. The kitchen was almost fully stocked but was missing a few simple items, like potholders, for example. Owner's of the Owl's nest may want to consider discussing the following items with their cleaning service: a used, moldy coffee filter was left in the coffee machine; there were a considerable amount of cobwebs; some garbage items were on the floor such as a shopping receipt from past guests, and the outside garbage was so packed we could not get our one trash bag into it. Other than those things, we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day trip. Thanks!

Owner response:I wish you had called upon your arrival to report any problems. I would have contacted the cleaning service to address any problems if necessary. As far as trash disposal is concerned; all guests are asked to dispose of trash bags in the community dumpster upon departure as stated in the contract.

This cottage in a beautiful setting in the mountains of WV. Close to the Wood's resort that provides good food closeby. We saw several wild turkey and deer during our stay. Hot-tub and fire place was great. The property was very well maintained and nicely clean. Overall just a very nice time. We highly recommend that you check this one out!

We had a wonderful stay at the Owls Nest. We were there for the BIG snow of February 5th,2010.It was beautiful and our cottage was very warm and cozy! A great little place to spend time with friends.

We stayed at the Owl's Nest over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We had an amazing time taking in the scenery in teh hot tub, the cabin had everything we could possibly have needed. Very serene, beautiful queit area, great hiking. We loved it, very friendly and accomadating owners. Great stay!

My wife and I enjoyed our weekend getaway for our 10th anniversary. The cozy accomodations at the Owl's Nest were perfect for being out of the way, but with the comforts of home. Berkeley Springs in close proximity also made trip very enjoyable! Would recommend to any couple/family looking for quiet, but not TOO rustic!

We had a great time staying at the Owl's Nest. Very relaxing and quite. Best part was sitting on the deck relaxing with a glass of wine. I would recommend this as a great weekend get away. Ate at the Resort Restaurant and the meal was excellent with even better service.
