Elk Mountain Log Cabin is located in the "Hills of Cataloochee." Enjoy the peacefulness of nature and fresh air you can find only in the mountains. Spend some secluded and relaxing times rocking your cares away while enjoying the beautiful distant mountain views. You can enjoy the awesome views from the kitchen, family room, master bedroom and back deck. In the evenings, the hot tub will become a favorite place to relax and savor the serenity of the night under the stars on the open deck. The early morning hours are a perfect time to watch the sun rise and listen and see the birds, rabbits and squirrels in the woods.
The cozy, 1200 square foot, 3 bedroom-2 bath, Non-Smoking cabin features a wood-burning stove surrounded by native stone. The satellite brings you local channels and channels from Atlanta as well. While you're at the cabin, you will have the distinct feeling that you are away from it all, nestled in the beauty and tranquility of nature. Yet, you are only a few short minutes away from Maggie Valley's many activities and attractions. Among the special activities, drive ten miles and see the recently released wild elk herd residing in the Cataloochee Valley of the Smoky Mountain National Park.

Why the Owner Chose Maggie Valley
After spending over 10 years visiting the Boone/Blowing Rock area with our four children, we heard about Maggie Valley from our friends. We immediately fell in love with the quaint town. It has skiing, horseback riding, waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, awesome restaurants, shops and so much more! It's close to Cherokee, Gatlinburg, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Asheville. Since we live in Florida, it takes us 2 hours less to drive to our mountain get-a-way than if we stay in Boone/Blowing Rock. The weather is a little milder in Maggie Valley, even though we get snow. It's just a great place to take your family to relax or to keep busy, depending on your vacation plans. Enjoy!!!

Had a great time here this week. Spent anice, quiet Christmas with the kids & didn't have to worry about attending all our "traditional family get-togethers" that are so overwhelming and stressful. It was really nice. Our only disappointment with this trip was NO SNOW! We really wanted to see it. None of us ever have. Got to see a little ice (which we see in FL) but no snow. Went to the ski resort to see the "fake stuff", but we know it's not the same. Oh well, Maybe next time? Other than that, all else was perfect. Thanks for letting us have a tree in the cabin.
